So many pieces.They claim this to be 720p, but I've looked at it closely in a 1280x720 window (with 1280x720 mode enabled on the camera) under bright lighting situations and it appears nearly like 640x480 blown up. In other words, it doesn't look any sharper in 720 mode as it does in 480. I have a background in video and graphics, so I know what I'm hunting at. Even the 640x480 has jagged edges, for example on the curves of my face, and so on. It seems if you have been to take the 1280x720p frames and scale them down to 640x480, the picture would appear decent. It's as if the camera or driver is compressing the video just before it gets to the screen. This most likely what's going on with other net cams.The "stand" isn't all that fantastic in true-planet use, at least for me. It feels good to bend and you feel it's cool, but not the ideal in practice. It's super-light, so it's quite easily moved if you're just placing it on your desk. This tends to make a great web cam, but don't think you'll be finding any 720p-level sharpness. It's just not there. It has modes in between 640x480 and 1280x720, but none appear any greater than 640x480.The ClearFrame technologies appears to just auto-adjust all the manual options like exposure, brightness, contrast, and so forth. It's not revolutionary or anything.It does 30FPS, but of course if it's darker in the room, the exposure is longer and you're then receiving like 10FPS with a lot of blur, just like other net cams. You can adjust items manually though and get 30FPS in the dark, you just get a darker/grainy picture.

True HD, autofocus and not a fixed focus. excellent built in Mic. Apple OSX compatible (no drivers needed) no lens cover. short USB cable. Contrary to what other folks think, you CAN simply use an external mic with this. I do that with my Dell Vista laptop AND my Powermac tower running OSX. I like this camera so significantly I bough three of them. I use them for webcasting employing adobe visual presenter three and get amazing outcomes. the good part is if you dont use HD you can get a lossless digital zoom out of these cameras simply because they are a 5 megapixel sensor instead of a cheapish sensor found on other cameras. it does need light, but I have but to locate a web-cam that delivers a wonderful image with the lack of light most men and women try to use. Decent quality audio and video whilst it worked. Bought ten.two.2009 and mic is now dead. By no means dropped, kicked, abused in any way - just sat on best of my monitor.
