VANTEC HDA-250M 2.5" to 3.5" Mounting Kit

This is made from heavy-gauge steel. It's heavy for its size and well-built.However mine came with a finish defect on the underside. There's raised spatter near one of the holes. This is a very hard, matte finish - the raised spatter prevents flush drive mounting. I suppose I could scrape it down?My main issue with this is that it's not universal. This adapter mounts into the 3.5" drive bay from the *side*. The bottom holes are to mount the 2.5" drive only. This means I can't use it in my Antec Sonata III because the 3.5" drives are mounted from the bottom only.So my 2.5" SSD remains mounted to my 3.5" bay using velcro strips and this item remains in my parts bin.
