get lots of prints before changing cartridge. quick prints, 10-20 pages in seconds. used to have a inkjet, and i switch to this, never looked back. no more paper jams, ink refills and wasting time waiting for prints. ideal for small office and students |

I don't print a lot but I wanted a printer to print essays for school. I was looking for a low price laser print. The printer worked well for a year and then just died. When I turn it on, nothing happens. The warranty is only for one year, so I am out $120 plus tax, what I paid for it. The other draw back to this printer is that the ink cartridge it comes with, isn't full, so you will soon have to buy a new one. I guess that is Brother's way of keeping the cost down. |

Cons: - USB cable MIA- Much bigger and heavier then my old inkjet.
Pros: - The "ink" cost much less then my old inkjet- Fast printing- 64.50$ Price Match (cheap)- "powder" wont dry like inkjets Comment:
If all you do is print monochrome then laser is the way to go. You wont have any ink drying issues and you will get a better bang for your buck. |

I wanted to buy some fancy laser printer but being a student, I figured I'd hold off on that and just get something cheap.I got this bad boy on sale for $69.99 and couldn't be happier... I'm using a program called FinePrint which has made my ink usage more efficient than ever!!! (Trust me it's worth using the printer with that program)If you're a student who wants to save money and ink... Get this printer and download FinePrint! I bought this because I was tired of replacing dry/empty ink cartridges and I'm doing my M.A., so I needed to print a LOT of pages on a regular basis. So far, this has been great: the toner seems to last forever; it prints evenly; I can choose to have it double-side, though that means manually reinserting the paper after it prints the first side; and it will take thick paper and even cardstock through the manual feed. The only drawback is how much power it draws when it warms up, but that's really not that big of a deal to me. Great buy when it's on sale! |

I tried 3 different mono lasers on my Leopard machine through a Time Capsule server with no success until I got this printer. Worked like a charm off the bat with minimal hassle, just needed to install the driver on all computers. One of the few brands and printers that has documentation concerning OS X 10.0.5 compatibility! |

Aside from not including a cable to connect the printer to the PC (fortunately I have several kicking around), this printer is an excellent bargain. Replacement toner cartridges are rated at 1500 pages, which is certainly not too bad. The printer can be a bit noisy, but that is the price of speed. I have it hooked up to my server now, and it has not given me any problems. |

Really good printer, buyed this printer to print my tax reports and it work really fast without any mess. I really suggest this printer for any student for cheap price of the toners too. The only problem is that there's no USB cable included, even 10$ USB drive got usb cable, so c'mon! |

Never buy any brother product, we bought printer and started drum problem very next week. we did not even printed more than 35 pages and this problem started. Drum itself cost more than printer. do not ever buy any brother printer.
