Worked properly to convert old IDE enclosure to upgrade to bigger and less expensive SATA drive. Match perfectly with laptop drive and adaptor in enclosure, an worked with my MacPro. Straightforward set up. Didn't come across any, at least so far. would be good if description eluded to added mounting thoughts for securing smaller drive in systems, anything I didn't consider of. |

This adapter worked wonderfully. I required to make my sata challenging drive into an ide device, and this factor did the trick. Just plugged it correct into the sata ports on the back of the tough drive, connected the ide cable (and energy cable) to the adapter, and we were off to the races. And by races, I imply a final and effective installation of windows xp-- right after a million hours of old ide msi mobo tinkering and failures. No cons as of however, though be aware of spacial issues when installing the adapter. You may want to flip your hardware 1 way or an additional in order for the cables to attain effortlessly. Why does windows XP say there is no challenging drive installed after completely installing windows xp to mentioned hard drive on reboot? Thank heaven for Windows 7. And 7-11. |

unknown - probably performs as a SATA to IDE converter. this item is advertised as:BYTECC IDE Adaptor IDE to SATA Converter For DriveBut it is really a SATA to IDE converter.I ended up wasting dollars ordering this item and an IDE cable ahead of realizing.The board attaches easily and directly to a SATA drive and its output is IDE to the computer method. my understanding that would mean SATA -> IDE.oh nicely, I just ordered a different IDE to SATA item. Cant be unhappy with newegg - just irked at the way this item is labeled. |

I wish it had some, seemed to work for other people. It was from Newegg, and their returns are Fantastic! Crashed my Personal computer: if there was another drive on the cable, the Bios wouldn't finish the post tests; if there wasn't one more drive, when I accessed the drive, the pc hung.Hangs off of the back of the drive, utilizing the sata and power connections...if you don't like how tight the common sata cables hold to the drives...these are worse. I spent really a while attempting to make it work, I attempted the sata150 configuration on the drive, moving them about on the ide cables, very same result. I'm very thankful for newegg's return policy! |

Works as advertised. No latches, or anything to hold it in spot. When attached to the drive, it can move about a bit. It moving a bit isn't warrant for less eggs. Utilized hot glue, and it solved the challenge, slightly. |

Defective design -- will not cooperate with a different HDD on the same channel -- locks up the program. Forced to allocate the two PATA channel HDD slots to a single SATA drive. two. Interface incompatibily capped burst transfer to UDMA two ࿁ MB/s) on Tyan MPX S2466M-4M server motherboard Tested on 3 distinct systems, hangs method when an additional HDD is on the exact same IDE channel cable. Quite simple to install and works properly. Demands about 4cm clearance at the back of the device. No instructions, the second IDE device ought to be set to SLAVE.There is no firm mechanical connection so concievably this could come loose in transport. Plugs directly into the drive SATA/SATA power slots, has vertically oriented connector for the IDE cable and a dongle for power. |

modest and simple to install. no jumpers to mess with. Does not perform as slave drive only as Master drive on burner.Needed to put my master burner as a slave for the laptop to see it in BIOS. Works properly. I was able to burn and do whatever required to be carried out with the burner with out any bad effects. |

Worked with small problem in an old XBMC Xbox. It seems to only perform correctly when its location on the IDE cable is swapped with the DVD drive, effortless fix though. Worked as expected, even has a nice blue activity LED. The Xbox's HDD caddy will need to have to be modified for it to fit properly.
