Value. Reliability. I have purchased Lite-On before, and their product has often been fantastic. Why was this Ū cheaper than the model just above? It's becuase they come wrapped in bubble wrap, and don't consist of any of the application (not like Nero is a good deal), or the install book. I had to surf the net to locate what I do with the slave/master switches on the back. As it is, only one particular shows up in the tree directory, and neither a single recognize a CD has been inserted.

Does the job for older PCs with EIDE interface. None so far. Haven't tested all possibilities, but it did play PAL-encoded DVDs devoid of any troubles.

Low price. Operates on XP to burn DVDs. Plug n Play in XP and w98. Does not recognize or is slow to recognize some cd tends to make. Burns DVDs much slower than typical via w98.

Don't have any. Can't find drivers to make it work. Doesn't come with the drivers or even details on where to come across them and download/install them. It only costs ฤ. Your initially give away that you might want to invest much more dollars. If for nothing else, drivers. This is nuts!

Functional, inexpensive, completely sufficient. We all know about LiteOn goods... they all appear to have a pretty limited lifespan. I happened to need to have a burner for a system that's perhaps got a year of life left in it, and for ล this unit will fit the bill. My last LiteOn, also a DVD burner, lasted about a year, so I know what I'm getting into. Four eggs, not five, mainly because LiteOn solutions look to have a limited lifespan. The price tag is appropriate although.

Works as intended proper out of the box. NONE Lite-On has usually been very good to me, have employed quite a few of their optical drives over the years, and have had extremely very good reliability with them.

Quiet drive, Burns and reads the low-cost DVD's none, I realy don't know what I'm performing half the time. Have burnt 40 DVD's so far with no problems. Employing HP DVD-R, I Burn recorded Tv in Windows Media Center and can play the DVD's in any DVD player I have, even the XBOX 360 will play them. Just the fix I necessary for an old Dell system that accepts IDE drives (no SATA). Great upgrade for the cost. Inexpensive... Bought three of these to replace regular DVD-ROMs in Dell Optiplex 320s, and all three drives failed. They will randomly study a cd/dvd but 8ቦ instances fail to read the disk. This occurs with both industrial and burned CD/DVDs. The firmware on these drives is larger then the firmware installer on Lite-On's web site, and all of these systems have updated chipset drivers. Lite-On iHAP122-9 is junk, and I have currently RMA'd them to NewEgg.

Affordable, performs fine with DVD media. Doesn't work with CD at all. However I didn't set up burner during initially 30 days and going to study about the tech help from LiteON.What I study in other critiques currently created me sick.
