I have used APC in the past, but this size unit has been a disappointment with them. So far Tripp lite has been good. (2months) There has been a coupla outages, and no problems. It shuts down Windows without so much as a beep. Personally I don't need a lot of beeping to tell me the power is out. I can tell when there's an outage 'cause the lights go out. Install was super easy. As long as the battery outlasts the competition, which was 6 months, I'll continue to use Tripp - Lite.
