Cons: no card readerled's too brightnoisy case fans

Pros: aluminum frontgreat quality
Comment:
My first dedicated HTPC, I was very impressed with the quality and the nice finish on the aluminum front panel. A bit of a pain to work with having to remove several screws to access the drive bays, but everything fits nicely. The included 80mm case fans are the loudest components in my system, but get the job done. I was disappointed that the front port panel does not include a card reader like several other htpc cases, but it can easily be replaced by a low cost 3.5" internal card reader. One other complaint is the front led's are very intense especially when watching tv in a dark room. It would be nice if they had something in front of them to diffuse the bright blue light a little.

Pros: Beautiful case. Very good quality. Easy to assemble.Good documentation. Looks stunning. Won't be disappointed.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a simple, elegant, HTPC case. Lots of room and well assembled.

Comment:
This case is amazing for a HTPC build. It looks great in my TV stand. I get a kick out of people who see it and don't know that it's a computer at all. Very quiet if you set the fan speeds in bios to adjust themselves according to temperature. Case is large enough to accommodate full ATX board and PSU and a decent CPU Heatsink (Mine is the Kingwin KA-9226ACU 4 Heatpipe Copper Heatsink), also fits Arctic Freezer. Highly recommended for any HTPC build!

Cons: drive mounting

Pros: looks, size
Comment:
Built a HTPC using this case and it's been running smoothly for over a year. There are some chips in the paint, but that could be me moving it around. Drive mounting can be challenge for people with big hands. That's the only qualm i have with otherwise a very solid case.

Cons: - Not as fancy or sleek as other HTPC out there

Pros: - Nice simple appearance- Full-sized ATX that's not too big- Reasonable price
Comment:
Bought it on sale for $120. It's a nice looking HTPC, maybe not the nicest, but good value for what I paid. I could fit everything I wanted into the case, although I was carefully when purchasing the parts, particular the height of my CPU cooler. It is a bit tight in the case, I had to remove the second HD tray, which I'm not using anyway, in order to make room for cable management.

Cons: It is a very nice case. I don't know if it's worth the price but to me it is. The only thing that really pisses me off about this case is the fact you got to use super strong double sided tape to get the covers for the dvd writers on...I put it on slightly crooked(from more then a foot you would never notice) but the tape is so dam strong I can't adjusted it and forcing it scares me I'll break the DVD drive...

Cons: USB-Sound bay could have been improved by including a Media Card Reader...Otherwise these 3.5" drives are cheap enough so it's not really an issue and swapping the included one was simple enough.Included fans may be slightly loud for some.

Pros: Very nice Stereo Component Look that blends in perfectly with any HIFI Surround Sound Unit. Full ATX size, great layout and cooling. Subdued LED lighting (Blue power and HD activity LED's). Included USB-Sound bay.
Comment:
I like this case alot. I fondled the idea of an HTPC case for some time now and really critiqued each one only to easily settle for the Lascala 17b. At first I steered clear of any case of this size in thinking this would defeat my idea of something sleek and simple but was only too wrong in my thinking! I'm very happy in knowing I can add a full sized video card, more than 1 HD and if needed a couple of ROM's. Assembly was not hard to manage and the final result allowed me to nip and tuck any excess baggage (cabling). The end result is that I now have a PC that resembles something of a HIFI component....really nice. I'm going to attempt a mod of mounting a low RPM 120mm fan or 2 in my case...eliminating the 2 80mm's that came standard...to me there could be a tad more silence to my setup. I only installed a 8600GT so heat or that fan isn't an issue.

Cons: Small - height and depth. PSU is too far from MB. I couldn't fit all my hard drives in. 80mm fans are loud. Hard drive cages don't fit when using PCI video card.

Pros: None - for my needs
Comment:
I bought this case to make a HTPC with my old components, after buying a new computer. Here is what I tried to put in this case: - 4 hard drives (SATA) - 2 92mm fans (advertised to hold them) - A8N-E MB, artic cooler, Pioneer DVD - Antec PSU (450 w) - ATI x1900xt with passive coolerI don't believe this case is designed to hold an ATX MB. I don't believe this case is designed to hold a PCI video card. I could not fit the middle hard drive bay in the case because it bumped into the video card. The 4-pin CPU power cable would not reach from my PSU. I had to buy an extension. The 20-pin MB power cable *just* reaches. The lid of the case does not fit on - the passive cooler is too high. The middle cross bar will not fit back in - it bumps into the video card. When using a 92mm fan in hard drive cage, the hard drives almost hit the PSU. The cable coming out of the PSU are crammed up against the hard drives. If you're using a mATX board and onboard video, this case should work. It does not hold regular sized components.

Cons: mounting drives is a hassle

Pros: looks, price
Comment:
Was looking for a decent looking, not-too-pricey HTPC case. This fit the bill. The only gripe is that mounting additional drives is a bit of a pain because you have to pull out the drive cages to do so, not really a big deal (it's not like I'm swapping drives in this computer all the time anyways). Overall, I really like it.

Cons: Rubber Ring

Pros: Good LookingLots of open spaceFans Quiet
Comment:
Just assembled my htpc today and it works great! The sound of my scythe katana 2 + earthwatts 480W + 1 of the 80mm fans that come with this system is barely audible. If you are in a totally quiet room all you would hear is a very quiet sound, when I put my ear up to the case I heard the HDD writing louder than the fans themselves!Keep in mind I'm using a mobo with 780G which includes onboard vid.But nevertheless the case itself looks great.CONS-There is a rubber ring to provide protection against static interference, in their instructions they list it near the end. I had all my little USB, HD Audio, Firewire...etc cables plugged in already and had to take them out in order to pass them through the ring. They should list it earlier in the instructions.-If you plan to use more than 3 HDD the case will get swamped with cables, with the PSU being so close to the HDD cage I put most of the cables in the middle HDD cage in order to keep air flowing.Other than those I can't say anything else really bad about it.

Cons: 60mm fans are a bit loud.

Pros: Space for 6 drives.
Comment:
I love this case! It doesn't look like a PC, and if you have black Home Theater equipment it matches up very well. The front bezel is all aluminum which means it will survive repeated movements in and out of you TV stand. I filled all of the fan sockets in the system with some HyperFlow 80mm fans. The only problem is that the 60mm fans that came with the case are louder than anything else inside. It will fit a longer video card (I have an X1950Pro in there) but the center hard drive bay has to remain empty as the drives stick out about an inch or so if you have an 80mm fan installed. All in all a great case for a mid-high end HTPC. I would buy it again.

Cons: 2 x 80 mm Fans could be quieter. Unusual USB connectors.

Pros: Great looking. Lot of space inside.
Comment:
I bought this case for friend in need for a horizontal HTPC. The built was mostly an easy job. I was puzzled by the Front usb connectors: Each port has a connector, so you plug 2 of these to one port on a gigabyte DS3L internal USB port. The 2 80 mm fans are a bit louder than I expected but I maybe too sensitive to noise. Nevertheless, this case looks awesome!

Cons: -Loose power and reset button-Double sided tape holds DVD bezel-5.25 bay may cover part of the motherboard

Pros: -Brushed metal look-Lots of room-Top support bar-Lots of fan mounts
Comment:
I ran into a couple of issues with this install. DVD Rom:The Samsung DVD writer I got for this did not work well with the front bezel. The drive sat too close to the button and made it impossible to depress. The front plate also did not sit flush with the case. I switched the DVD writer for an old LG DVD writer and everything worked out. The button can now be pressed and the front plate is now flush.Fans:The 2 80mm fans on the back only had 3 pin connectors and the motherboard I used only had a CPU and System fan headers. I had to swap out the fans for 2 older ones that a friend gave me.5.25 Drive Bay:With the motherboard I bought, the ATX power connector was directly under the 5.25 drive bay. As a result, the power connector is a very snug fit so careful of what you choose for a board.PSU:The PSU I chose was meant for a matx case. Since this case supports ATX then be sure to choose a PSU with long enough cables. I had to cut off a zip tie in order to connect the 4 pin power connector. Those are the only problems I ran into and I hope this helps anyone considering this case. Overall, I think that this is a great case and I would definately buy it again.

Cons: Would like to see hard drives isolated better. Depending on your PSU cable length and mobo placement, can be a long reach.

Pros: Great build quality, Quality hardware, elegant design
Comment:
My second Silverstone case. Typical outstanding build quality and fit and finish, (love the minimalistic look in black) With an Enermax Aurora keyboard(what a match)lots of room for hardware, Vista, Biostar ta690g, 2 hard drives, ati 1650 pro 512 vid card. DVD drive in top bay. The drive covers are a snap to install. Running cables from PSU to MOBO is a stretch having to go over Vid card. Also bought zalman low noise 80mm fans, and a very tall Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 CPU cooler which fit no problem. Would have been nice to have the HD's rubber isolated, but still a very quiet pc.Ordered Silverstone Rackmount ears. Can't wait!

Pros: One of the best looking HTPC case.

Nice case with lots of room, attention to details on the DVD-Rom door which close very nicely.PSU location is a bit far for my motherboard so make sure your PSU has line long enough to connect to the MB.If the case has only 2/3 of the height it would look really nice.Maybe a baby version of LC17-B?

Pros: Looks greatLots of roomGood coolingVery solid design and build
Comment:
This is great HTPC case. It looks great and has a high wife-approval factor. The clean front bezel blends nicely with other av components.Inside the case there is lots of room for various configurations. Two hard drive cages allow for six HDs. If you need to fit a long video card you can remove the middle cage. The case comes with two rear fans and I have added two front fans which easily keeps the temps down. The only thing I dislike is the way the HD cages install. You must align the cage with slots in the bottom of the case, push down and slid forward. Sliding the cage back to get it out when everything is installed can be difficult. For the price I don't think you can beat this case.

Cons: Large case, yet feels cramped inside.Too many screws - not a tooless case.Lid is very old school, could take a lesson from Antec on howto. My lid doesn't fit perfectly flush with the front bezel.Ever hear of hard drive silicone mounts? Would it kill you to include some?

Pros: Great looking bezel.
Comment:
Greating looking front bezel. There seems to be ample cooling holes and vents. Surprisingly no silicone hd mounts. Can mount up to 3x 80mm fans and 2x 92mm fans to help move the air along. Did I mention it has a great looking front bezel?

Overall, I am really satisfied with this case. The only "problem" I have with it is the psu placement (bottom of the mobo) which makes placing the cables a real pain. Also I was kind of expecting more in the sense of user friendliness from a case worth 140$. Some thumbscrews would have been nice.

Cons: Noisy fans, Not top quality build and finish

Pros: Clean austere looks, roomy
Comment:
I bought this to encase a resurrected PC I had mothballed for a few years for use as an HTPC. I picked up a new socket A board, and cobbled together some other parts with XP Home and MediaPortal (free!) software. I just want to have my music and videos, and to access online sports video and music broadcasts from Europe easily available to the big screen.Installation was easy enough - and this is the first PC I've built. The only hickup is getting the 2 optical drives lined up with the aluminum face plates - no infinite adjustment, and they are still not equally even. I know I can get them looking good, but it takes extra work.I don't have a board or controller to lower the fan speeds, and the two stock fans are very loud running straight of the motherboard. I'll likely spend more and fix this soon as well. The finish and build quality is OK, and looks acceptable in my home theatre system. Try Ahanix or Zalman, or even Silverstone's own lc-16 for a proper refined mid-high-end look (they are twice the cost or more!). I like how austere it is - no VFDs, no knobs, no DVD logos. Almost looks like some massive amplifier from some obscure boutique manufacturer.
