Cons: Viewing angle, dot pitch, no WiDi

Pros: Thin, looks good, speakers are decent, image quality is decent
Comment:
I've been shopping for a good "living room" PC display - something that looks good and reduces clutter - so on paper this looked pretty appealing. Quality display, speakers and USB hub, all in one attractive package. Although the wireless display and MHL support sounded interesting, I wasn't planning on using either.Out of the box impression is good. Nice and thin, tilt adjustment is sufficient. Connecting to the PC via HDMI was as easy as... uhhh... plugging in a cable. The touch control aren't my favorite and are a little difficult to operate. Image quality looks good at first glance... the Windows 8 start screen and desktop look good with the out of the box calibration. Also sound quality is not bad - I think the speakers are at a good angle and accomplished my goal of quiet music listening just fine. Too bad there isn't a bit more bass, but I wouldn't really expect it from speakers this size anyway. After a bit of eyes on time though, the first and biggest problem I have with this monitor became apparent. Despite the "wide" 178/178 viewing angles claim, I found that colors really started to invert even looking slightly off center. Subjectively the inversion looks worse than my LG with a plain old TN panel, to the point where I was finding it distracting.Apart from the viewing angle, the only complaint I have with image quality is not really Samsung's fault. At 1080p, I personally think the dot pitch is a little high on a 24" monitor. It's definitely a personal preference thing, but I much prefer 1080p on a 21.5" display. Feature wise I would have liked to see WiDi support instead of the proprietary UWB dongle. In the end I returned it because I just couldn't live with the viewing angle issues. But if that doesn't bother you so much and you're sure you want a 24" monitor then this would definitely be a good deal at the ~$250 sale price.
