Cons: feels cheap

Pros: works, inexpensive, compact
Comment:
It's compact, works decent and is inexpensive. What more do you want?I don't trust it too much, that's why I use it for older laptops that sit as low-power servers in the basement. I wouldn't use that work daily work as it's all plastic and am sure would break pretty quickly.4 stars as it's inexpensive and does the job I bought it for.

Cons: might be a little on the small side

Pros: light, portable, quiet
Comment:
I bought this because i thought my laptop was overheating and making my ram all messed up. But actually, it was the ram that was messed up. This will cool down you laptop and it is usbpowered and quiet and light and priced at 20 dollars isn't bad, but its good only for like 15 inch laptops and under, so it you got a 17 inch look at something else.

Cons: - Build quality not very good- USB power adapter does not have an "off" switch like some of the ones I've seen

Pros: + Inexpensive+ Reasonably quiet+ Effective, a good 10-15 degrees cooler
Comment:
For a regularily toasty laptop, these its best friend. Keeps the overall temperature down, and keeps the super-whiny 40mm cpu fan from running at over 9000 RPM.The build quality isn't the best; they tend to break after a few months of heavy usage.Overall a decent product at a good price point.

Cons: -Flimsy plastic, which bends and hits fans

Pros: -Cheap-Quiet
Comment:
This product does what it claims to do; my laptop runs near 30 degrees most of the time, rather than 40. It seems to have trouble keeping up while gaming, and the plastic is flimsy enough that when I pick the unit up sometimes it bends inward and the body contacts one of the fans. For the price (when on sale) it works well enough, though.

Cons: -Fragile

Pros: -Fairly Quiet-Cheap
Comment:
This cooler is fairly quiet and it does keep my Tablet PC cool.My only complaint is that it is a bit flimsy and fragile. The rubber feet at the bottom of the cooler fell off on the second day.But over all, I would recommend it and would replace mine with the same unit if it ever breaks.

The Vantec Lapcool 3 Notebook Cooler did an efficient job cooling down my old Dell 8500 laptop. In the past, the cooling fan of my laptop would run at very high (and very loud) setting to help cool down my components. Combined with the Vantec Lapcool 3 Notebook Cooler, fan noise from my laptop is now kept at a minimum. I highly recommend this product. It's affordable and, depending on the model, can do a very good job cooling down your laptop.

Pros: Works wellThin and LightCheapQuiet
Comment:
This is a great laptop cooler. Its super thin and light so easy to take with you. Dropped my temperatures 20 degrees when playing Counter Strike Source, WoW, and Guitar hero. Its pretty quiet when on. The first one i got only had 1 fan working, not both. I still tried it out just with the 1 fan and the working fan under the hot side of my laptop, Worked GREAT!

This cooler keeps your laptop cool if you plan on leaving your laptop on for more than a few hours. It's great for people who have play games on their laptop. It's also great because it's almost silent. You can hardly hear it unless you pay real close attention.

Cons: Very cheap power connection, the USB wire plug on the unit is loose and feels really cheap.

Pros: Not too cheaply made. Quiet and no vibrations. Good price.
Comment:
Don't plug this into a added USB PCMCIA card. It will run oddly and make a high pitched noise. It does keep the laptop nice and cool while being thin enough not to change the computer's position.

Cons: It doesn't suck.

Pros: It sucks air.
Comment:
This usb powered fan is a cheap way for me to insulate my lap from the hot notebook I use. The size is just right for my 14" - computer that is. The heat that blows out of the back is noticeably warm, and that's exactly what I want. Noise is moderate, but low-pitched. Rattle is nil - a surprise considering the pliability of this kind of plastic. It's pretty solid - even after being toted around for 5 months. A good buy.

Cons: Doesn't last long before it dies

Pros: Does it's job when it's working
Comment:
I bought this about a year ago for a Fujitsu laptop that had severe overheating problems. The cooler is too small for my 15.4" laptop but it still managed to keep it running for a while. Then the thing started having problems, the fans would turn one minute and then stop unexpectedly. Now the unit is dead they just won't turn anymore, no matter how much I wiggle the plug. How much engineering does it take to make a few small fans work? This product is a dud because it doesn't last.

Cons: Not much considering the price

Pros: Price, very quiet, lightweight, reasonable quality
Comment:
I've been considering getting a laptop cooler for a while as my girlfriend's laptop gets really warm and seems to slow after using it for a while. I was wary of this cooler considering the price, its hard to buy two fans alone for $16, nevermind a laptop cooler.I picked up the cooler and checked out the construction. The plastic seems a bit soft over the fans but there is enough of a gap to allow for any pressure so as not to come in contact with the fans themselves. The rest of the plastic - particularly around any points where it would come in contact with the laptop base or underneath where it would rest on the desk - are sturdier and rubber tipped to prevent slipping or scratching any surfaces. It wouldn't hold up to dropping it too much, but how often do you drop your laptop. The cooler itself is quite light and fits a smaller laptop perfectly but anyone with a 17" widescreen may want something a bit larger for regular use. The only bit not covered on the base of my girlfriend's 14" LCD is a 3/4" strip at the back. When I plugged in the cooler I had to look to make sure it had turned on because it was so quiet. The air is pulled down into the cooler and exhausts out a strip that runs the length of the back of the cooler, keeping it away from you and your hands and legs. This helps keep the whole base of the laptop cool from the outside.I wasn't sure how much this would help with the CPU temps but I noticed the computer's fan did not turn on and off like it normally does. I'd also noticed there weren't any noticable slowdowns in the performance of the computer itself, confirming my suspiscions that the overall heat of the computer and not the CPU temp was causing a performance decrease. The CPU still works fine and under heavy use the laptop fan will handle the extra load of cooling the processor while the cooler keeps the rest of the laptop from overheating. While it isn't the best out there (no USB ports, no external power, some plastic is a bit thin), you'd pay twice as much for anything better and it does what its intended for, which is cooling your laptop. Its very quiet, light and cools well for most applications, and if you get it for the sale price you really can't go too far wrong.

Cons: Wish it had USB ports on it like some other models.

Pros: Quiet and cool, what else can you ask for.

Was a bit skeptical at first that this thing would help at all. But, after using it for a while, I must say that my laptop is way cooler than it used to be. Originally bought this to get rid of my overheating problems - don't think I was getting good airflow underneath the computer where the cpu exhaust was (great place to put it, Gateway). This thing has solved all my heating problems.

Cons: -not as compatible with all laptops, expecially the bigger ones like those bigger than 15 inches-fans are too slow, don't move out enough air

Pros: -cheap-has 2 fans-quiet
Comment:
Not a bad product at all! It's way cheaper than the next one up and it's effective too.If i didn't use it, my laptop would be burning hot at the touchpad area, it could burn my skin (Yeah it was hot). After using this, it chilled down A LOT! The only this is that the gap in between the laptop and cooler must be large enough to allow more airflow. If the gap is too small, you might as well not use it at all. I had to mod mine to make the gap bigger for better airflow. One note, the cooler sucks out air, not blows it on the laptop

I bought this cooler for my Acer 5672 Laptop with a 15.4 inch screen. This cooler is still sufficient although it does not cover the entire 15.4 inches, its probably short by a few inches. Besides that, it works well and lets me place my laptop on my bed/couch/chair without worrying that it isnt getting any air from the buttom since its blocked by fabric on these surfaces. USB is a plus, and its on sale for only $15, well worth investment for any laptop.

Comment:
I have had this notebook cooler for about 3 weeks now and found that it did a sufficient job at cool my notebook; the I tested and found that the area where my hands was quite warm without the cooler but the temperature dropped a significant amount when I plugged the cooler in. The only problem I have with this is that if you put even a small amount of pressure on the notebook, the plastic covering the fans will touch the fans and you will get a very bad sound. For the price however, this is an excellent cooler. This review was modfied by poster @ 06-10-06 10:21 AM

Cons: Aint good enough for those AMD 64s in the plastic enclosures.Dropped my temps with this AMD 64 laptop only 1 degree. ONLY 1500 RPM!!

Pros: Its a laptop cooler. Keeps your laptop from seriously overheating. USB POWERED!!
Comment:
I didnt expect much from this cooler. Its the cheapest and was going to be used on an AMD 64 s754 laptop in a platic enclosure. If my laptop had a metal enclosure then Im sure it would have done better. Not designed for wider laptops but does the job for the 15.4" and under laptops. Its a vantec product so you know its built well enough for prolonged use. Im gunna be modding this cooler to accept higher RPM fans and might split the usb connector giving each fan its own usb port.Anyways, Ill recommend this for the average user. But those looking to do some tweaking to their laptops, id consider a different cooler.
