Cons: Wifi/Bluetooth was very difficult to make it works. See comments below.
Pros: NCIX service very good. Receive it by Purolator from Vancouver to Quebec in 5 days. Packing was safe. Good performance and very good graphic card for 700$! The graphic card Radeon 6850M is rated 135e on http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ and Geforce Gt540m 165e, so you will be able to play with relative good quality. I did an exhaustive analysis of laptop with good graphic card/cpu/memory versus price and this one was the best. It has only 4Gb of memory but for like 40$ you can buy 4 GB more. The i5-2430m cpu is 2.4 Ghz but It can autoboost by overcloaking to 3.0 Ghz. I was very surprised to find that there is 4 cpus in it, not two!I like keyboard and touchpad. It is very ligtweigh compare to my girlfriend Laptop Toshiba Satellite 17 inches. And as other commented, this computer really have a USB 3.0 port and two 2.0 ports.To sse complete ACER specs: http://aspireone.tx.acer.com/bom/index.php?S=1&PN=LX.RNA02.024This windows 7.0 could be configurated either in french or english at first start only. After you can't change. You will have to have 4 DVDs to backup your system as no Windows Cd come with the laptop like every laptop. |

Cons: suppose to come with a usb 3.0 blue port which shows in picture on many website. THIS does not come with one. ive tested with a usb 3.0 mushkin venture pro flashdrive, i get only about 25 mb/s in both read and write.after testing with 3.0flashdrive, i went into device manager and check it shows NO usb 3.0 drivers installed. i went onto acer's website and for this exact same model, download the usb 3.0 driver, install it succesfully, and it still does not show in device manager.
Pros: AMD 6850, i5 2430 CPU, 17 inch, light weight.very good price for a good graphics card and a decent processor.USB 3.0, NOT - read below Comment:
overall would have rate it 4 or 5 stars for its price regardless of Acer's false advertisement of usb 3.0 port, however rated it 3 stars due to NCIX's poor customer services over the phone.i payed money upfront in store, and the service i got over the phone was "we copied spec information from Acer's website, call acer and get a confirmation from them, and request a refund from acer". REALLY?doesnt matter where you get your information from, as long as you put it onto your website. for a several hundred dollar product, that is FALSE advertisement and a scam.I literally had to call NCIX's headoffice and complain to get a RMA number just to return this laptop, branch store staff were telling me they wouldnt let me return it unless I receive a confirmation from Acer and show them, or else restock fee would apply. On first install my wifi didn't work at all. The front light didn't light on even when activating with FN+F3 touchs. I searched like 5-6 hours to find how.The driver was not good. Even if I did windows update it didn't update anything. So after reading many forum I went on Acer Support site, which I found well done (you can even chat live with support) entered my laptop model and downloaded Wireless lan driver. There is two model and you have to check in the back of your computer if it is written Wlan Broadcom and Bluetooth Broadcom or Atheros...Wireless LAN DriverAtheros9.2.0.43911.6 MB12/22/2011Wireless LAN DriverBroadcom5.100.249.223.1 MB01/12/2011Dhttp://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=3476I downlaoded it without uninstalling present driver and installed it. Restart computer twice and it worked. Now the front light light on and I have 130 mbps wifi 802.11n internet. Before the device was not named correct in the pheripheric tree but now I can see Broadcom 802.11n and microsoft virtual wifi miniport.
