Pros: Great design, compact and sturdy build.Love the built in Ethernet connectivity, and each ink cartridge is separate so you don't have to buy one huge colour ink cartridge.Very good print and scan quality. Comment:
Bought this to replay my Brother - 290C, because this has Ethernet connectivity so that I can print anywhere in the house with my laptop. Great print quality and speed. Highly recommended for home and small office. |

Purchased this printer as an upgrade to a Brother 240c (5 years old) which I had bought an external print server for to try and get it to network. Love the built-in networking on this one.I didn't use the driver cd - went right to brother's website and downloaded their latest driver. Installing the driver on the computer was quick and easy as well as a one-click to register the computer as a "scan to" destination for the scanner.Overall it's a great little printer, and the ink is cheaper than the 240c's ink was, so I'm very happy. |

I picked this up to replace my Lexmark sheet feed scanner. So I can scan directly to PDF multipul documents. I was hoping I could set up the machine without even installing the ink. No luck there. Reguardless its a great little scanner and even scans to iphone with the app. On sale for less than $40 its a great deal. It even support pc fax ( only outgoing ) they really want you to buy that ink! Im very happy with the purchase. Brother is really stacking up to be a decent company! |

first time setup is really long and menu is confusingPrints rather slow compared to other printers I have used

Now this is one slick looking printer, with 4 ink tanks unlike HP. This means you only need to replace the colour cartridge thats empty not the entire colour tank. One nice feature is that you can tell the scanner what PC you want to send the image to.while the menus for the printer are numerous navigating them takes some time to get used to. this also holds true for the initial setup required before you can use it. The printer also is not that quick to print especially documents with images in them. One really nice feature usually on more expensive units is the document feeder. It can hold up-to 15 sheets so makes un-attended faxing easy so long as the pages are in the correct order.Overall I am very impressed with the unit and will be ordering another for myself, as first one was for family members. |

One of my customer bought this from me so i ordered this from this site, as far as i know it works great and it uses the cartridges as the big brother ones, the mfc-795cw, it's cheap to buy ink and prints high quality pictures, |
Despite what you see in the pictures, this printer is quite compact. It is smaller than then most of the Canon all-in-one printers. The print quality is not as good as Canon though. Nevertheless, you can find cheap fill-able ink for this printer easily on eBay. I think this feature alone beats buying a new printer every time I run out of ink.Unlike some printers which require software to fax, you can fax straight from this printer without computer software. This is if you can live with the small screen.The cleaning mechanism is also kind of annoying as it runs for 15 minutes sometimes and cannot be stopped. I find if you leave some ink cartridges empty, it will not clean itself as much.
