Fantastic if you only want video. The item description states that its display port 1.1a and it supports audio if your device supports audio output on mini-dp. Apple says that all you require is a display port 1.1a compliant device and it'll perform with the 2010 MBP and late 2009 iMac.Got it these days and it only sends out video. Went into sound preferences considering I had to alter the output source but the only thing there is my internal speakers. New egg wants to modify the solution description to state that this DOESN'T send audio with the new macbook pros. |

Video functions fine. As other reviewers have already stated (should have trusted critiques as an alternative of specs) it does not transfer audio on my 2010 Macbook Pro. It even says on the packaging that it supports audio but unless there's some incompatibility among this adapter and the MBP it appears that's entirely an error. (What other machine uses Mini-DP that it could perform on??) |

Video performs fine Facts stated that 1.1a was supported, so audio could be transmitted for new model macbook pros (and I guess minis, from what I have read). I have connected to my new MBP and have no output solution other than internal speakers. I connected a cable that a buddy of mine is making use of (Kanex) and it performs like a charm. Do not waste time on this cable if you anticipate audio with video. Don't bother. |

Displays video. No audio from the mini-dp of a new macbook pro. The mfg website specifically claims this product supports audio for mini-dp's which help audio... which the mac does. Called them... they said "it must work", then asked if I wanted to acquire a new adapter which contains an audio jack. I declined. From now on.. I will listen to the evaluations and not assume that a business won't just lie about their specs. |

Outputs HDMI video. While claiming to be VESA Mini Display Port 1.1a compatible, my "Mid-2010" MacBook Pro did not output audio to the HDMI adapter, nor was there a new output device in my Method Preferences Audio Output list. |

outstanding video display why doesn't the audio transfer more than? i need to have thought about this prior to i bought this item. video displayed perfectly on my television, but the audio didn't transfer over. now i'm just working with stereo mini to RCA and it's operating perfectly for me. |

It does what it's supposed to. It doesn't really feel low-cost. Works flawlessly with my Macbook Pro. And it doesn't expense an arm and a leg. It doesn't have an apple logo, but who genuinely cares about that? No worries about acquiring this. It works. No cause to devote a ton just to have an Apple logo on your dongle. :) |

This works fine macs and hooking them up to HDTVs.Macbook/MBPs DONT OUTPUT AUDIO Through THE MINI DIV PORT. -_- stupid, i swear. If you want audio, get a mini toslink cable and hook it up to your Television. none. |

Tiny, uncomplicated to use, no bugs, MBP 17" detected it straight away. None! Only challenge I have is that I just read that my model MBP (the 1 correct prior to the ones just released 04ቩ) does NOT support Audio more than MiniDP/HDMI. |

Works as it need to Doesn't work to use a third display on a 5970. Read below. Do not obtain this if you are attempting to use it with a 5970. An HDMI connection counts the exact same as a DVI connection which you can have at most two of. You need to purchase the Apple mini-displayport to DVI active adapter to use a third display. |
Operates as advertised. Does not offer audio signal to Television if connect to MacBook Pros released prior to mid-2010. All reviewers who are disappointed by no audio provision by this adapter when connected to MacBook Pros released prior to mid-2010: you have to realize that the limitation is not with the adapter, but with the MDP on your MacBook Pro.Please study the Apple Expertise Base write-up for a lot more info:http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241
