It never got by the start up screen. tried 3 different hard drives. played with settings for 3 or 4 hours got nothing from it but stress.

Could not get this thing working from day one. Just a piece of crap. Now I'm left with the hard drive I had to buy for it too. No help on the manufaturers website either. And I mean NONE AT ALL! Ended up sending it back after going to the actual store and buying another brand of media mlayer. What an awesome, easy to use system that is! Don't waste your money on this.

I have scored this product very low because it only does half of what it's supposed to do. What I mean by that is the product specification says that the hard drive can be formatted in either FAT or NTSF, and this is true for the most part. However if the hard drive is formatted in NTSF the onboard operating system will not recognize those files. The product appears to only work as a media player when the hard drive is formatted as FAT. In my view a product that does only half of what it supposed to do is only half as good and only worth half as much. The Masscool MP-1369S is now just an overpriced hard drive enclosure to me.

Comment:
Pros: 1) easy setup, just put in a SATA drive, connect cables, hook up to TV, fire it up. No need to read the manual. 2) solid metal enclosure, not cheap plastic like many others. 3) Easy navigation using FILE button, using MOVIES / MUSIC / PHOTOS buttons would generate a complete catalog of MOVIES / MUSIC / PHOTOS respectively. 4) very fast response time with remote control. Cons: 1) not recognize IFO file, will not play DVD content like a DVD player. For DVD contents, it only play VOB files, each file behave like a chapter (long long chapter). 2) The AUDIO button is not in the manual. When I press AUDIO while playing movies, it cycles thru a long list of audio tracks (more than a dozen) while the movies only support 2 or 3 audio tracks. This is very annoying when playing karaoke songs (to turn ON / OFF vocal). Wish MassCool fixes this with a firmware upgrade.
