Some pros that come to thoughts proper away are:- PCI-E 1x interface- Composite/Component by way of HDMI recording- 1080i recording through Aver Media Center programSee Other Thoughts. Um, doesn't record in 1080p? But I knew that prior to getting so it's not genuinely a con. I use this capture card for recording game play on my 46" Tv. The PCI-E 1x slot actually assists with constant capturing, and I only had minor problems with it when I was attempting to figure out what settings worked very best. I've in fact been making use of Pinnacle Studio to do my recordings and I've been impressed with the benefits.Yet another point I'd like to add is that if you want to do recordings for YouTube, this card will be perfect for the 720p setting that YouTube has. Also, my hardware setup may possibly also be assisting with the smooth functionality I'm obtaining from this card:Asus P5Q-E MotherboardIntel Q9550 Quad-core CPU @ three.4Ghz8Gb DDR2 RAM @ 1066Mhz1Tb and 1.5Tb internal HDD's for recording space. All round, this is a excellent card for standard recording/tv capture. If you have any troubles making use of it, chances are you're attempting to do some thing with it that it wasn't designed for.

Arrived brand new in great packaging.Installed it into my quad core Pc with vista, I laughed at the assessment below crying about it not working on xp when the package clearly stated vista and windows 7 only in the image shots of the package.Installed it, ran the software program, now with this babdy considering that I run a gaming site, I can record and stream online fights or FPS deathmatches in my chatroom so all customers can see it. With a splitter I have my xbox360, Ps3, Wii, and other consoles employing hdmi and element operating by way of this negative boy with the capability to record providing out superb quality in perfect hi def format 񡺸p).As far as recording from my blu ray player, Some titles will not operate do to the protection but I figured I'd try it but to be honest that was not the explanation why I brought this product. This item serves its objective flawlessly for me and I am a happy customer!Thank you New Egg and the developers of the AVerMedia HD capture Card!Properly worth the value! Paid for overnight shipping with rush processing. Newegg charged my card and claims to have shipped it on the very same day it was purchased but it was shipped the subsequent morning. I called them up, asked what was happening, the rep told me the bring about and apologized,Even refunded the overnight shipping charges by means of store credit! This Con just turned into one more Pro!Thanks once more, be back to shop soon! Reading other reviews can leave you with an unwary feeling about an item, but he best factor to do is to trust your feelings rather than listen to an individual else because their undesirable practical experience is most most likely in issue among themselves like the guy installing the card in a Windows XP Computer when the package box clearly says VISTA or WINDOWS 7 Only.

It works with Windows XP!!! A person stated that the box says VISTA or WINDOWS 7 Only...erm my box mentioned for Windows XP :-), It installed fine working with drivers from CD. I put the card in 1 of the empty PCI express X16 1. slots and it works!!! Captures video through component cables straight from my Comcast cable HD box. I captured game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals 񡾀x720) and the video came out quite good (checkout cons below)Captures PS3 Videos/Games through HDMI 񡾀x720)If my cable box had HDMI out that would be sweet! There is a slight discoloration when capturing through the element cables ...the color black will look slightly purple-ish each 30-40 seconds, whites will turn slightly pinkish every 30-40 seconds..its like the HUE altering extremely very slightly after in awhile...weird....right after awhile you neglect about it but it's still there.-that's the only con for me Capturing from PS3 working with HDMI appears wonderful񡾀x720) and has NO discoloration (discoloration only making use of element cables)I had to capture at 1280x720 trigger capturing @ 1920x1080 would trigger stuttering in the video...yeah i'll need to have to upgrade if i want to capture in a greater resolution. Her are *some* of my OLD specs*AMD Athlon X2 5200 ʂ.6*ASUS CROSSHAIR AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard*Radeon X1950XTX 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready Video CardHehe...yeah I know :-p

The card does as advertised captures video. It does so really well with a couple of tricks. Simple installing and a good adapter for capturing analog signals such as composite, Component, S video. The downside is the software program suite isn't the ideal. The best way to record with this device is to use a freeware system known as vh capture and using fraps(not freeware) to record that image. This offers the finest outcome. There are a couple of examples on youtube Wonderful card worth the money as extended as you are willing to investigation the tricks to get the most out of it

Properly, the only pro is the price I suppose. Let us start with it not functioning for me but hey, that could effortlessly be an isolated incident. Now, travel to where it doesn't perform with HDMI (the bottom of the screen is green). Lastly, let's arrive with the flicker. I knew the peril I was acquiring in to when I read the reviews, I was prepared to take on the challenge. I ultimately, after a lot of tension and tinkering, got it to work... just not incredibly effectively. See, when in 720p, the screen has this sort of jitter to it. Rubberbanding if you will. I have used VirtualDub and the supplied (horrible) application to capture and the jitter persists. I updated the drivers as well, nonetheless nothing at all. It grows on my patience. In addition to this jitter the screen has a sort of discoloration to it, a faint bar of magenta at the prime and green at the bottom. Hardly noticeable, but it shouldn't be there. For those of you daring adequate to try this, like myself, a handful of guidelines I picked up areɅ. One particular of the plugs on the back is hdmi and the other is for the offered cable. They are not interchangeable.two. You can run in to concerns reinstalling the software in Windows 7. Just restart and it must clear the issue. You may want to attempt the beta drivers initially.Right here is my rig for arguments sake. The card has guarantee, but it's a shame the developer isn't being incredibly proactive about finding it to perform properly and most importantly, very easily.Window 7 Ultimate 64-biti7 9206gb RAMATI 5870 Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,VirtualDub is free application and it doesn't have a full support for AVerTVHD DVR card. Its Inexpensive! It operates (Occasionally)Above Average Tech Assistance (They'll try to repair your challenges. Note i mentioned Try) It's a pain in the you-know-what to get workingl. When you install it, you gotta make sure your drivers are suitable otherwise you'll be in deep. Then it may just start sucking on youThis device does not have a built in encoder, which is why its so low-cost. But as a outcome it wont be capable to do a lot of operate devoid of a very good CPU and GPU, so make certain you spend up on these ends.It does HD up to 1080i but has no tuner assistance. This means you're far better off working with this to record your video games off of the xbox, or some thing. It's pretty useless when it comes to something else tbh. I don't know about most folks, but 9 occasions out of ten i purchase such software because its intuitive. This is the oppositeIt does not help WMC which is a key con. You might say "Oh properly i'll use something else" But you cant. You use their software program or the highway, and let me inform you their computer software is awful. It's prone to crash all the time and won't constantly be uncomplicated to begin back up. I had a bug at a single point exactly where it would show Normal Definition video but not High Definition, they gave me beta drivers and it solved that challenge by generating it display practically nothing at all.Sure i like the support and all but i think tey need to have to fess up and give me a good refund. This isn't worth the difficulty, far from it. Let me note I am an expert in working with such equipment, have owned previous sorts of hardware and run a top of the line Computer, this is really hard even for the experts to use and is not worth any person's time.Would have returned but pass the 1 month point this device has dropped ten dollars in price tag considering that i bought, goes to show how poor good quality it is.For the record. Wonderful Video Capture card for the cost! Don't use the incorporated software program to record your video and PS3 game play... it stops recording when you switch screen resolution or from the GUI when switch from GUI to Video/Gaming then you have to resume record and use other computer software to merge the pieces collectively... USE FRAPS or other 3rd Celebration computer software to record and You need to be fine... 1 Egg off for recording not to be smooth... Called Avermedia tech support about it keeps quit recording when GUI and screen resolution modifications and they told me to quit doing that! -.-

Several folks do say they cant record with HDMI on the play station. I ordered this to record with the 360. Just to make replays from games. Those moments you want you could have recorded. Warning though. Make certain you have a great video card, adequate ram, and of course your cpu is sturdy sufficient. If not you wont be able to record any larger than 480p. I had to order a lot more ram and a new card but it performs ideal now. No much more skipping when recording in 1080i. Thank you AVerMedia. Following recording my video's, I like to go into some fancy pants expensive software and smash my face on my desk repeatedly for hours. Cause becoming, NTSC_M isn't supported by something! My projects are place on hold till I discover a plan that will perform with it! (Adobe Premiere 4-six, Sony Vegas Pro 9, Cyberlink PowerDirector, all don't support it) I don't have a Mac so "Final Reduce Pr"o is out of the question. You are probably saying properly why don't you record in a diverse format? Nicely... Mpeg2 is the only format that AVer Media supports for HD video, also NTSC_M is the only thing that AVer Media supports for HD. Don't be concerned, in a week I will recognize I'm stupid for not carrying out anything I ought to have accomplished blah blah blah... I started producing montages and required a far better capture card. So i turned to this crossing my fingers that it was worth it... OH BOY IT IS! Technique: Windows 7 64bit, Quad Core, 4GB RamVery good picture excellent. I'm working with component inputs to record standard and all HD signals. I gave it four stars for having component inputs!! MPEG2 Files look fantastic but way to huge a file size for my storage capacity so I have to use H264. This is the only CARD I could find that provides H264 at capture sizes as large as 720x480 (using compenent or HDMI inputs).HDMI is useless to me mainly because encryption keeps you from recording most every little thing and it's only going to get worse. That's the actual reason for pushing HDMI to the customer market. If the cable/sat firms would give and upgrade path for bigger tough drives on their DVR's I wouln't need to offload my favorites shows in the initial spot. When capturing H264 compressed video at 720x480 (Highest setting obtainable with H264) my motion pictures are broken into several files due to a 2GB file size limit. Tech assistance claims this will be fixed in the next "Media Center" release. I've been waiting because November of 2009!!!When recording I have to leave my Tv on. If turn it off my recording stops. Quite weird. I have a Motorola DVR on the Verizon Fios network with HDMI out to my Tv and Component out to the AVerTV HD DVR card. I'm not turning off the DVR just the Television. Probably the DVR senses there is no HDMI "receiver" when I turn off the television so it stops outputing a video signal alltogether? I can adjust Television inputs with no troubles, I just can't turn off the Television. For me this actually limits my recording time to immediately after the kids are in bed so they are not seeing "adult" television. Of course that's the same time I'd like to watch other shows so I'm stuck recording soon after I go to bed and ought to leave the Tv on all night Keep in mind this card uses the computer CPU for H264 compression. It does a good job and only makes use of 30% CPU on my Quad Core. Be positive to read up on the mininum technique needs. I want it had an IR port to change the channel on my DVR for scheduled recording.

I was a lot more than pleased with this card. I've spent several years developing a program to transfer VHS tapes to disk and producing copies of my preferred programs from my DVR. I use a SDIF Gigabyte input for digital sound from my DVR for element capture. The break out cable requires care of all my wants. Each my DVR and VHS are attached simultaneously. I know now my tape collection will now be preserved for a lot of years to come. The VHS tape copies are indistinguishable from the original. I use AVS video capture and conversion software program. My old strategy of video capture was a a Diamond PVR 600. Had to run XP given that there are no new drivers for Vista/Win7. Now I can use 64 bit Win7 which need to tremendously enhance the capture procedure.Any discussion of encryption removal would violate Neweggs DMCA policy. This assessment is for educational purposes only and not to recommend illegal copying of protected content. As lengthy as you keep the original tapes, it is legal to make copies of them and NOT sell them.

When video has displayed, it was in crisp 720p with minimal lag.Came with a dongle with every single plug-in you can believe of. If it was produced in the previous decade, possibilities are you'll be capable to display through this card... in theory. Lots.1st, my PS3 HDMI video won't play any longer. It doesn't even look like it's an actual hardware dilemma as I was capable to get the PS3 to display at it's key menu but when I tried to jump into a game (Battlefield Undesirable Business 2) then it came up with an error saying either my video card or monitor do no help HDCP. I've looked it up and both my Dell Ultrasharp 2408wfp monitor and my Radeon 4870HD video card both list HDCP compliance in their specs. If this is a difficulty with Windows XP or just XP 32 bit, I would hope a patch would be released to remedy but as of this writing, I've had zero luck at acquiring it to work. Also, when trying to play my Xbox 360 on it through HDMI, there was severe video distortion as it appeared that as I moved by way of the principal menus, random bits and pieces of screens I was seeking at previously would stay. Following awhile it looked like my screen had been place by means of a blender. The card functions truly effectively and the image is amazing. I purchased this card to hook my cable box and a PS3 to it. I have 6 LCDS down in my basement and wanted to let a single cable box run it all for superbowl or other parties. Rapid and easy to install if you know what your carrying out. I don't care for the application you have to use due to the fact windows media center wont pick up the card. But I use only the software program just for the video and music or anything eles I use windows so not that big of of issue but I like obtaining almost everything suitable there. Challenge I ran into: I have my cable box hooked up through component to hdmi connecter they give you. Simply because if your operating much more then one particular screen duplicating and you hook directly to just the HDMI due to the fact my cable box also has a straight HDMI port it will not show any picture on any of the other screens it will only allow you to run a single screen. I looked up the error encryption code its due to the fact it thinks i'm recording which is stupid since I can record anyways so blocks the picture. unless I go via element to HMDI which operates for my cable box. So in my case in order to run off the HDMI port on this card I ran HDMI from my device (PS3) to this card. Then because my video card splits the single to my tvs wall ports which are HDMI. I took a short HDMI to component from my wall plate to my tv to avoid this and performs fine. So its kinda like reverse from the other port. Im making use of Component at the end as an alternative of the beginning.

Works just fine. But there will be lag working with this card out of the box. Nevertheless, I knew that when I bought the card from the newegg reviewers=Thanks. You will will need a powered HDMI signal splitter. Then there will be no lag. (Powered means it has its personal electrical power source or it plugs to a energy outlet.) Then you split the hdmi signal from your game console. You will will need 1 hdmi cable from console to the splitter. Then you will will need two a lot more hdmi cables. A single goes to the monitor, the other to your capture card. At initial I thought it would not perform. Then I discovered I necessary to reboot the game console. My Son has been developing several HD good quality videos. There is no lag whatsoever. But the powered splitter is necessary for a reality.Bought the further required hdmi cables on the worlds largest on the net auction or yard sale for two or three each and every. Purchased the powered hdmi splitter at the identical place for about 26 dollars. So an additional thirty made this card a good thing. For live capture in HD get a splitter. No actual cons, individuals appear to knock the capture card computer software. It is uncomplicated. But it performs fine for HD video capture. For video editing he utilizes Skilled computer software. Soon after he captures, he edits with other software program. My above reference in pro's relates to lag in live on the web gameplay. If you want to just capture video from "other"video sources. This card will most likely have no lag, and a splitter not necessary. Only for the duration of on the net gameplay in HD top quality is a power splitter necessary to circumvent lag.
