Cons: Not really a, "true weakness, but more of a convenience issue: Included USB cord could of been longer.

Pros: Solid metal construction.Runs quiet, and cool.Includes, (optional), stand.Great connection access.Very slick looking. Love the brushed aluminum & batman type logo w/ white led.
Comment:
This enclosure works great, looks great, and is a great bang for your buck. I bought this unit and threw in a, Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA2 3.5IN 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Hard Drive, 2 use strictly for backing up my PC, and it has been preforming like a champ. It runs, quiet, and cool, and it looks really good - especially with the brushed black aluminum, & batman like symbol w/ white led. I would definitely recommend this unit.

I bought this enclosure for a friend who needed an external hd for her Bell HD receiver. This enclosure paired with a 500GB Western Digital Black works perfectly with her receiver.

Pros: Good value for a basic enclosure. Nothing fancy, but for the price I can't complain. (got it on sale)

Saw this on sale and decided to buy it and use it to turn my old HDD into a backup. So far its been working great, and I kinda like the aluminum look to it.

Cons: Paint is easy to scratch.

Pros: Solidly built. Pretty easy to install. Light-up KIRF-Batman logo.

I bought this to hold a WD10EARS for intermittent backup/archival use. It works perfectly as it is.It's passive cooled, so the enclosure starts to get a little warm after a while, but nothing too hot.

Cons: a bit flimsy, but better than the rest

Pros: works well, compact, actual aluminum, looks great

works good. it's not actively cooled, but it's made from aluminum so I haven't had cooling issues.Works great, no firewire/esata though, but for this price I can't complain.

Cons: over sized AC/DC plug and unusual type of plug, unreliable

Pros: Very sleak look
Comment:
i just bought this enclosure for my WD Caviar Green 2TB HD but the enclosure died after 30min of usage. From the looks of the previous reviews it seems like another person has the same problem as i have so this enclosure is bery unreliable. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone getting an enclosure.

Cons: Cables are a bit short, user manual (on CD) was laughable, USB

Pros: Simple, looks good, works!
Comment:
Good buy, I think. I had a 500GB HDD that I wasn't using, so rather than buy a whole new external for 100 bucks or so, I got this for $30. Assembly is pretty easy. My HDD wasn't formatted yet, so that was initially a bit annoying, but otherwise it worked fine. The product manual was clearly not written by someone whose first language is english, and some of the instructions didn't make sense at all. (Thank goodness for pictures). It does run a bit warm, so that may be a consideration... a WD green drive might be good for this. It does use USB 2.0, so in that regard, it's a bit slow. That isn't a huge problem for me, as I want it mainly for backup for my photos, so I'm not using it all the time. One little annoyance I have found... the supplied cables are pretty short. Cons: Doesn't work.

Pros: Looks pretty.
Comment:
Works intermittently at best. Using a WD Green 1.5TB drive and only occassionally can I rely on the enclosure to work. When the drive is installed directly in the computer it works flawlessly, so its obviously something wrong with the enclosure. A query into the Antec customer support (which is only via a web-based mail interface) has still not been responded to (over 5 days ago). For the price I paid it is not worth mailing back, so I just have to eat the loss.

Cons: No eSata.

Pros: No fan, so it is quiet.Low price when on sale.
Comment:
This enclosure is perfect for a WD green or Seagate LP drive. Since it has no fan, it is very quiet. I would not want to put a WD black drive in there though as they get quite hot and their speed would be wasted on the USB connection. The only negative is that this enclosure does not have eSata.

Cons: doenst have a LED included

Pros: looks cool, high quality touch

got this when it is on sale for about 20 bucks. very happy about this case. only thing dont like is that there is no LED included in the case so when you turn the hard drive on there is no indicate that power is on.

Cons: Worked only approximately half the time.

Pros: Price was cheap.
Comment:
Tried to use it with 1.5TB WD Caviar Green drive. It worked initially but after I turned if off and tried to turn it on later, the enclosure light would only flash and the drive would not power up. Couldn't fix this problem and returned the enclosure.

Cons: does not work with my wd 1tb dual procesor drive. i think it draws too much power.

Pros: great build quality, looks great, aluminium dissapates heat much better than plastic enclosures
Comment:
This Antec enclosure is identical to the Vantec ones. I've had a Vantec for over 4 years now, and that thing is still running great. Internally, the build tolerances on this look much better (newer) than my older Vantec. Only problem was my unit wouldnt spin my WD 1TB Black. I have a feeling it's cause that drive has Dual processors, and thus takes up more power than this encolsure can handle.

Pros: Quality, heat dissapation
Comment:
This is a great enclosure. I put a 640GB black in there, and although it does run warm to the touch, it handles it very efficiently. The design is not that great, but the build quality is very solid (surprised by Antec this time). Speeds are very good as well, as it must have a decent SATA controller....30+ MB/s single file transfer, not bad at all. for a USB controller. Great price for a decent enclosure if you don't need eSATA.

Cons: Can't format hd's with it... they need to be connected directly to the computer

Pros: Clean look, form fitting, and pretty well built
Comment:
I bought this for my first external drive, but it was a pain to format the hd attached by usb. It would either freeze, or just not start. I tried a second spare drive, did the same thing. I then put both into my computer, formated no problem...? Bit confusing to me as I was told I can format though the usb, but whatever.

I bought this hard disk drive enclosure for my HDTV receiver. ITs good because now I can record programs playing at TV and I can transfert them later to my computer's hdd. Its very basic enclosure, its metal brushed black. It comes with a power adapter and a USB cable. Watch out to not get a performance hdd in this enclosure since it can be hot. Use standards drives and it should be good. Watch the sales it can come with very cheap price

I put a 500GB drive in here and it works great. It's warm to the touch, so I guess the metal exterior is doing its job dissipating heat. The case is nice and seems well constructed - something you won't mind being left on your desk.

Pros: StylishEasy to installQuietGood build quality
Comment:
I purchased this to use as a backup for 2 computers and also to save hard drive space on my machines(which are still using IDE, so I didn't wanted to bother with a new HDD)Anyhow, I put a 500gb disk in it and it works like a charm.I wished it came with eSata too so it would be more future proof. The USB cable is a tad short, but I had other cables laying around which I could use if needed, but it turns out that the length will be just ok. The plug length could also be longer. As it is now, I can't put it on my desk while connected. I wished there was a bit more information for install, not that its hard, far from it. But there was the plug going to the light which I had to connect, but I wasn't sure which side to put it, I think both ways would work, but well it worked when I did it.

Cons: Big Drives within it can HEAT UP, even my 160 slim drive gets the unit WARM when usuing the drive, Example: backing up 30GB of data, but if only using for backing up files here and there it is good for that, but not for 24/7 daily usage.

Pros: Sturdy Unit Stand, Easy to setup, reliable thusfar and VISTA 64-BIt with SP1 usuable, can use up to 1 TB of drive space.
Comment:
This unit i bought cause i could no longer use my Bytecc USB units (3-4 years old) with Vista 64-bit with SP1 installed.I wanted a decent unit to put a hard-drive into and use for Backup Only and for the price this unit is Awesome.

Cons: Gets warm from prolonged access. It is passively cooled so after a major transfer it does get warm.

Pros: QuietLooks greatEasy to assmeble and use
Comment:
I purchased this enclosure because of the name and price. Antec put their name on quality products. It was very well priced and well within my budget. I put a WD 500GB drive into the enclosure. Assembly was very simple. A couple screws and plug and play. Its not nearly as bulky as many actively cooled enclosures as I have seen. Keeps to a nice size and looks great. I am 100% satisfied with it and will purchase another when the time comes. Again Antec does a great job and keeps me loyal.
