Comment:
Actual product may not be exactly as shownTruer words have never been spoken the picture here clearly shows a ROM (most likely DVD combo) and even on HP’s website there is firmware for a ROM and Lightscribe software but the string of obscenities uttered when I opened the box and realized that there was no ROM and no way 1 could be installed After my initial frustration I brought the thing over to my customer and he said that it would be good enough for what he’s going to need and I breathed a huge sigh of relief (not having to pay to ship it back)Now that being said it’s not a bad little unit and after a bit of poking around I got windows XP to go in (ati drivers being the hang up) assuming this was exactly what I was looking for in the first place I do have 1 major complaint and that’s who ever thinks of the color combinations should die the high gloss white with the funky HP design is great dissent show fingerprints and such the keyboard however will get kind of dingy looking…. As my customer is a gold smith I predict only a few weeks till those keys are worth as much as the laptop (lol) the sides and touch pad are mirrored great for those vane people who need to constantly check their appearance but show EVERY fingerprint. The same goes for the high gloss black around the monitor. It does include a full 2.5” hard drive which is easily accessible from the bottom (great for people like me with a Norton ghost image for fast OS installs) and a single 2GB RAM chip with an open slot for those people who need it. It has a Broadcom wireless card which makes me happy (because I despise Atheros)

Cons: - No upgrade to Windows 7

Pros: - 6-cell battery- ATI graphics- Good value when on clearance***
Comment:
Great value on a ultra-portable laptop when I got it on clearance. Very light and has better specifications than pretty much all netbooks only for a little bit more $. Because it has Vista Home Basic, however, it isn't eligible for the HP Windows 7 upgrade program, so keep that in mind. But if you're willing to spend a bit more, you can get the DV3-1020CA, which has the Radeon 3200 (with HDMI support), more RAM and Windows 7 to go.
