So far we have performed the various system updates, added Picasa and iTunes and we are generally very pleased with the laptop. The SD card slot works out well for image transfer and the system really zippy with the SSD drive. We were using a workstation laptop before with dedicated Quadro gpu and an extreme processor on wuxga+ resolution and this little Ativ is far preferable for home and casual use. We have samsung tablets, cameras, phones, so this just made sense and there is nothing we regret after viewing similar models from Sony and HP. Yesterday was the first full day without performing any system tasks, and after seven hours on battery browsing the internet, watching video, and importing and editing photos... the system showed that we still had more than 30% remaining on the existing charge. The only thing I would like to have is an upgrade path on Windows 8 because we are used to 7 Pro and Android and this Windows 8 is a huge learning curve that is simply not intuitive for either of us. Laptop seems great so far though.

Overall not regretting this purchase. I got this with $150 discount.The hardware in this notebook is fantastic. The screen seems a little crowded with the 1366x768 resolution. The touch screen works great. The track pad supports multi-touch and I have got 2 and 3 finger gestures to work great. The SSD is really fast. I would have bought a 256 gb one if they were available, but external hard drives are always an option so it's not a big deal.Comes with Windows 8. Right away you only have around 70gb of free space. No big complaints there, but eventually had to wipe it and load linux. The tipping point for me was that my multi-touch settings would get reset every time I restarted the computer. So every time I booted I would need to go into the touch settings and enable 2-finger scrolling (or was it 2-finger tap for right click?). With linux (Linux Mint 16) I needed to install touchegg for gesture recognition and everything works great. All loaded and now I have 107gb free.If you are planning to load linux, you do need to worry about the radeon graphics card. The 8XXX series is still really new and I had to load the latest beta drivers from AMD for it to work properly. With the default xserver-xorg or fglrx drivers I just get a blank screen. I can get close to 900fps with glxgears.I probably would have purchased a different notebook if there were any other options that had an SSD, but there were none in my price range.
