Cons: - Price- Performance hit

Pros: - 3D affect
Comment:
The 3D is definitely a great addition to games that support the feature; however, let it be known that there is a HUGE performance hit when in 3D mode. For games such as L4D it really isn't a problem, as that game is based off of the dated and extremely efficient Steam engine. For taxing games, though, forget about it, unless you're on a multi-card setup.Overall, still a bit of a gimmick, but I think it's worth it for the select  games I use with it.

specs: i7 q4 ghz, 6 gb ddr3, 2 - gtx 260 SLI, samsung 3d monitoros: windows 7 64 bitgames tested: gta4, l4d1+2, saboteur, bf2142, cod:waw, cod:mw2, borderlands, street fighter 4, TF2now, don't be expecting for everything to be 10 ft out of you screen because it doesn't. what it does is make the world 3 dimensional and seem like your there. what it does do is pop effects to make it seem more realistics. like in l4d the gunsmoke looks like its floating, blood splashes, zombies close up swing at you. it creates a nice balance of depth and pop out effects.in l4d2 and TF2 it doesn't hinder your skill at any rate which is one thing i was concerned with. as for the other games i haven't tested them thouroughly enough to provide a valid opinion. that being said, it does make the games different and you may have to adjust to playing them in 3d, but this adjustment is fairly short.the transmitter has a depth control which is handy to have. when loading games i usually start at about 50% and within 5 mins i'm at 100%, usually less time. some games appear better at lower depths but its pretty easy to change (ingame). i've read reviews saying it takes up to 50% more gpu power to run 3d. i personally haven't noticed since i was running q 1920x1200 and now have lowered to 1680x1050 due to the monitor. i can still run most games at max everything. it comes with a video player to view existing movies you own in 3d. i make a home video and certain parts pop right out at you. mind you, some effects are minimal since ideally the video has to be shot in 3d. it also includes a 3d photo viewer which can view 3d photos and make normal photos somewhat 3d.the glasses are wireless and the battery lasts forever. you can also play while they are plugged in if necessary. the transmitter has an on/off switch so while your playing a game you can enable or disable 3d effects. this is where you really notice what you've been missing!i'm happy with my purchase and this is the future. it took me a day or two to really get used to the whole 3d system but once i have i love every minute of gaming. most games tested didn't have any anomolies. some fps shooters you may have to disable crosshair but the 3d software allows you to add their own (15+ different ones)

I dont know about the other review he must not have his settings right I have been doing 3d for years and this with 120 HZ is perfect even works great at 85hz with dlp projectors for that in your face feel. The 3D with the Samsung is great ,good depth NO eye strain what so ever. And the stereo effect is FULL screen.Glasses are top quality. A charge last for weeks. I do FSX and COD 5 TDU, combat 3, every game I tried works perfect and drivers are updated every month it seems .If you want 3d stereo this is it. Tip,you must have the Advance settings control checked. Convergence settings is the MOST important. Stereo depth at 15-20%. This review was modfied by poster @ 06-21-09 09:37 AM

Cons: 3D experience doesn't cover the entire screen...

Pros: Amazing 3D experience
Comment:
I read lots of great reviews, so I took the chance and bought this (bundled with Samsung monitor) without seeing it. And I'd have to say, the experience is unique and very impressive. Unfortunately, the timing between the glasses and the monitor seems a bit random from computer system to system. The result is an amazing 3D image from middle and bottom of the screen, but the left/right images are not well separated at the top of the screen, so the 3D image is completely lost. Unfortunately, this makes 3D gaming very disorienting...I've been in contact with NVidia since first buying this, and they 'cannot duplicate my issue' and recommended I get it exchanged. I took it back to NCIX and was told that's just how it is. So I am now left with an overall $800 of equipment that only kind of works and no support from either NCIX or NVIDIA (they stopped responding to my support requests). As far as I can tell, this is more of an issue on some systems than other, but NCIX's response that 'this is just how well it works' would make me wary of recommending anyone buy it.This technology is not quite ready for market. Do not buy unless you're willing to take an $800 gamble. Perhaps if you already have an appropriate monitor, it might be worth taking a chance...
