Cons: No cables included

Pros: Inexpensive, simple interface, works as intended.
Comment:
Bought this to display promotional video on TV. I read through the manual trying to confirm whether or not it would play a video on a loop, but the manual didn't specify so I gave it a shot. As it turns out, yes it will loop a video(s). At the end of the video it displays a stop icon briefly, and restarts the video with a play icon shown briefly as well (approx. 1 second each). There is not pause between the end and start of the video, but it does throw up the stop and play icons for a moment. Not 100% transparent, but pretty decent. Will buy more for this purpose.

This player plugs and plays, read my external 500gb Hard drive, never try with bigger HD, will try.HDMI plugs to tv, composite audio plugs to receiver, both plays in the same time, no problem.

Cons: Doesnt play ALL 1080

Pros: Too many Pros to list. From ease, to playability, size and looks, the O!play is a great machine.
Comment:
Bought this for my dad. Didnt read the ENTIRE list of what it will play and wont. Entirely MY fault. Tried to play a BR rip NOT RM and it was laggy. Every other movie and file has played flawlessly. Thinking of buying the MP700 for myself, but if this drops to $50 again I wouldnt hesitate to purchase this for myself.

Bought this for my car. Extremely easy to setup and use. However the menu response is quite slow and annoying sometimes. Otherwise, it's a solid buy.

Cons: -None to report.

Pros: -Compact and lightweight-Easy to use. -Plays almost any format.-Simple to setup and use out of the box.-Firmware easily available online.

WOW! Asus has done it again. What a great little player! It comes with everything you need in a descriptive, attractive package and it ready to use out of the box in less than a minute...literally! The user interface (menu) is easy to use, and has a great layout. The remote which comes with batteries is easy to operate with normal sized, easy to read buttons. This remote lets the user navigate the media easily without the need to ever leave the lazy-boy or couch! Upon my first use, I just plugged in a USB stick/jump drive/flash drive (which ever you prefer to call it) that had various files on it(JPG's, PNG's, MP3's FLAC, AVI to name a few) and I browsed and played away without issue. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like to add a splash of magic to their home entertainment experience. Thumbs up!

Cons: Occasionally doesn't have sound when starting upSometimes with old files(Beavis and Butthead) it gives GMC errors

Pros: SmallCompactSupports a lot of file types
Comment:
Overall it's a great product. The occasional oddity where it mutes itself and I need to restart the whole thing is a tad annoying. I haven't investigated why some of my media doesn't play smoothly but I'm sure it's something I could resolve myself.

Cons: None so far. Please update  firmware.

Pros: Good all around. The setup was a breeze. It plays whatever I had on my external HDD, USB stick and SD card. Just love it. Highly recommended.

Cons: Could be a bit cheaper.Cannot play some format despite what the specs say.

Pros: Good all-around player
Comment:
I used to play avi rips downloaded from the web on my dvd cum divx player, but when some of my favorite sites started to encode their files in x264 format, I had no choice but to start looking for another (cheap) standalone player which can play more than avi. After considering and comparing several models & brands, I decide to give the Asus Mini a try, mostly based on its specs and price.(Almost)everything works right out of the box: it can play MKV,AVI,FLV,WMV,MPG flawlessly, with one notable exception: MOV files, despite what is said in the specs. So I'm not too sure if my files are not encoded properly, or someone is making unsubstantiated claims.

Cons: Primitive menu

Pros: Low costPlay all popular audio/video formatsReal 1080p
Comment:
If you're looking for a no nonsense media player and you don't need fancy features like live streaming. Look no further. This player can handle real 1080p playback and essentially all popular audio/video formats, unlike for example, WD's couldn't handle rmvb files. The menu is a little primitive, but at such a low price, it's an excellent deal.

In some ways I prefer this over my WD Live, especially when it comes to the interface and menu structure. The card reader comes in handy. I would recommend this to other looking for an excellent media player on a budget
