Fantastic layout and cooling. Comes with USB three.. I did not even get this to take my RAID setup, my SSD, or anything. Right after each format it would tell me "Missing operating program" I am tired of it and returning it. My memory did not work - I bought the XMS 3x2GB kit 2000mhz only showed 4GB MAX. ASUS tech support was no help at all.BIOS update did practically nothing. All my SSDs and RAID drives worked on other computer systems, in no way had a problem like this with builds. Terrible encounter.

I consider that the features and basic top quality of this board are pretty good. The application tools by ASUS appear like they have been written for little children to appear at, but they aren't too terrible. The BIOS is very very good, even if it is a tiny bit deep and explanations of the selected item can be somewhat lacking often. I just added a new heat sink to my develop following seeing that the stock Intel 1 for my i7-950 really was noisy and ineffective. Right after placing that in, I go to plug every thing back into the case and what takes place? The leading correct USB two. port on the back of the computer system breaks. I wasn't even pushing challenging on it or anything. It could have been backwards, I'm not confident. Either way, I wasn't forcing it, and it just gave a incredibly brittle sound and I though, "That's not excellent." Pull out the flashlight and, confident adequate, the plastic tab inside the port is broken and the contacts are separated from it. Wow, what a huge disappointment immediately after feeling like I truly had completed my build of this amazing best notch Computer. I seriously don't know what to say except that it's just a massive let down. I genuinely really feel like the tab in there should have been made from a non-brittle plastic. Seems very strange that they cheaped out on this element. Tends to make me wonder how long the rest of the board will last. It doesn't look worth it to pull the complete factor apart just to send them back the board, wait for weeks devoid of the computer system, and then have to place it all back collectively once more. I bought this as a present to myself for finishing a graduate degree and now it's not as fun as it applied to be.My make:i7-950This motherboardOCZ Vertex 2 SSD6 Gb Corsair XMS ramCorsair 600t caseCorsair 750HXEVGA GTX 570Dell 24" monitor

-operates truly well when it functions-straightforward set up (BIOS and drivers)-X58 chipset-works effectively with SLI setup and my SSD Not the usual good quality you would count on from Asus. I've had to return 1 and that is main discomfort in the you-know-what. The a single that I had to replace had all these memory posting concerns and I also utilized to give some weird instability troubles. However, soon after I replaced it, the replacement board worked flawlessly with the similar hardware. Not terrible at all. Hoping Asus fixed some of the early troubles.

Appears to run all speeds as advertised and documented, though I have not done specifically in depth testing in this region as of yet. I will not continue any testing until I have a fully functional board. RAM slot A1 would not recognize its RAM stick on first boot, or any subsequent attempts. Did a bit of trial and error troubleshooting to come to this conclusion, and will be sending the board back quickly for replacement. Guess I need to have listened to the few 1 egg reviews this item got, alternatively of just inherently going with my attachment to ASUS solutions. I guess I know for next time.

Awesome mother board, functions properly out of the box. I bought this with an i7 950 and 8 gigs of ram. Was in a position to put anything in and turn the computer on and have it perform off the first attempt. Easy to set up and use. Like quite a few other people who have written reviews of this board at initial my motherboard would only detect half of my ram and immediately after spending an hour testing each and every dim and then playing musical ram I figured the problem out. The manual is incorrect in exactly where it tells you to location the ram dims. I'm going to assume that this is why other persons have reported their ram not functioning. My manual specifies for dual channel to use slot 1 a and 1b.. when it is truly 1a and 1c.. This is a minor and only challenge but could be a place off to men and women who don't know how to troubleshoot their own hardware. I appreciate Asus each motherboard I've ever purchased from them has worked and never had issues.

I ought to have heeded the other 1 egg testimonials that had the similar problem. My gut mentioned listen to the one particular egg reviews, but I stated "it's Asus, it really should be okay. There's all these other happy owners." It isn't worth it to be that one particular guy that pays for a broken item. Don't be me; avoid this item.Prevent THIS Product!!!

The new one particular is working so far I ordered the initially one particular built an completely new machine with it turn it in and everything looks like it's functioning fine except..... My monitor isint finding a signal. I made sure evreything was seated all the way in there slots 1st, attempted making use of one particular video card rather of two, I applied unique approaches to connect to the monitor even applied my other monitor that I know performs, my final try was I pulled my video card out of my other machine and nonetheless got the similar result, so I looked at these evaluations and saw other persons had equivalent difficulties. Tore down the machine sent the mother board back looked at just about a Ūk paper wait for just about two weeks, once I got the new MB I installed it and hmmm what do you know operates good now I didn't have the time to make sure anything is working correctly since it was late but at least now I have some thing to function with. I didn't do something distinct from the 1st one to this a single so it wasent an install problem This is the second time I've had to tear apart and rebuild a computer because of this problem with a MB the initial a single was only ุ so I didn't think significantly of it and hey it's nobodys fault if you get a negative component it's just bad proper? But you know for a MB that cost 赼 you would anticipate it to operate the initial time, and becoming it was the second time for the identical difficulty it makes you wonder exactly where the problem is..... Maybe I'm just unlucky.

None. Dead on arrival. Newegg wont RMA it due to the fact its past their 30 day policy. Had to wait for more parts from Newegg to make my machine, therefore generating it not possible for me to even test it inside 30 days. Going through ASUS' TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE RMA department. They dont want to replace the product that is their fault from the starting. I will in no way purchase an ASUS item once more. I'm like most folks who read these critiques for creating a custom gaming station or workstation, I go for the most eggs, but this board is dreadful for how a lot of eggs it has. DOA, and i'm not the only one with the challenge, apparently this board is notorious for POSTing troubles. My machine wont even start up. No enable.

Installed very easily. Everything fit precisely like it should. Zero clearance issues. Installed a G.Skill F3-10666CL9T2-24GBRL kit with 24GB ram.Not a single hitch putting this technique with each other. Came up and ran when I hit the switch. No BIOS fiddling, no crashes, no mystery, no puzzles, no drama. Now that's the way it must be, people.Nonetheless solid as a rock following 1 week of heavy use. Might or may not make a gamer's blood burn hot. Dunno. A excellent, solid foundation for a power Photoshop, video-editing, and media system. If you're a media particular person dragging your feet about a homebrew Computer, this could be the a single for you. For significantly less than 񘘐 I place together a 24GB system that performs superior than the 񙇈+ MacPro we also have right here.

This is an extension to my prior evaluation with related title. In a single stroke of genius ASUS redeemed themselves. If you go to the "Tools" menu of the BIOS there is an "OC Profile" tool that lets you save and load your settings (even to/from USB flash drives). While this says it's for your overclocking settings, it essentially saves/loads THE Entire CMOS! I just hold a backup of the settings in the bios (you can save up to about 9 profiles), then when the CMOS gets cleared it requires a few seconds to restore every thing. Just the fact that when power is removed from the PSU the CMOS does get cleared on my laptop. This is a common difficulty and is hardware configuration dependent so it won't come about to everybody.

-Steady-Lots of characteristics-Asus-Handles Lots of ram-Newegg client service memory is a nightmare on these boards. let me save you some trouble. initially off you have to run memory in the blue slots if you are only running 3 sticks not six. two. you have to go into the bios below AiTweaker and change the memory overclock to X.M.P. profile for it to see ddr3 1600 ram. nowhere could i come across this documented. returned some ram simply because it would only see at 1066 not 1600. employing the corsair dominator xms3 TR3X6G1600C9 G ver six. 9-9-9-24 ram. ver 2.1 is listed as certified and supposed to only see at 1333 but this runs at 1600 once i made the change on AiTweaker. it is very significant to get only the ram listed in the book as certified. you will have problems otherwise. asus tech support was not alot of help and had no clue what was going on. the ram will not run in the black slots by itself. already tried all combos. you should have the three blue slots filled 1st then fill the 3 black slots with matching ram. be nice is asus documented this.newegg worked with me on the return and the low level guy was a moron but the high level lady was incredibly nice and valuable.

Enjoy this motherboard, it appears great, runs great, starts up like it should, and fits every little thing I required (which motherboards should certainly do). Stays somewhat cool even though idle, haven't checked it when I'm utilizing it intensively. OC'ing tools are simple to use, RAID's simple to set up, anything just functions. Gotta set RAM speed manually, but not genuinely a dilemma

Incredibly steady (after bios update) with lots of alternatives and goodies. This is a overall performance/enthusiast platform that will deal with your i7 with ease. Generous bios & effortless to use functions. Supports 24GB of RAM! I have 12 installed with i7 980.Nice layout and no heat concerns. Not a con, so considerably as a "gimme" but you need to have High quality RAM from the vendor list. Otherwise, your OCs will be unstable at very best. Initially run was a i7 930 @ 4GHz steady with small voltage tweaks. Functions excellent and appears amaising. Also a somewhat inexpensive value for an x58 motherboard. I have 1 tb of raid using the onboard raid and it functions actually nicely. Overclocked to like three.six for a bit more energy and is stable. The only challenge i have is that the pci slots are a bit close but that wont be a issue till i do sli i had a terrible stick of ram and i was afraid that it was the motherboard but it wasnt :)

Did anything I necessary and additional to have a killer computational setup. Had running at four.2GHz with 1440MHz RAM with an i7 950. The RAID controller was uncomplicated to setup. OC'ing was easy inside the BIOS. LAN went out immediately after 2 weeks. Got a replacement even though. Lots of reviewers of MEMORY have concerns with putting super quickly memory into their P6X58... But it is NOT the board. i7 chipsets only use RAM rated with a voltage of 1.6V or less. So most of the higher speed i7 memory on the market place makes use of 1.65V or Greater. It is not the board causing challenges, it is the CPU. Just get memory that can run at 1.6 volts. Then adjust your fancy memory's latency to the equivalent 1333MHz or 1066MHz and you will be just fine.

Great board. Asus top quality. Placement is fantastic. Not good cosmetically but that's not what you're paying for. Asus advertised as possessing six.0GB/s raid help, but will give you drastically lowered functionality in raid with SSDs and does not support trim. ICH01R raid at 3GB/s could attain reads of 550mb/s and writes of 250mb/s with two C300's. Marvell's controller ƖGB/s) can only achieve about 300mb/s writes, and 80mb/s reads in raid with larger latency. All around, useless. It's technically able to realize raid , but I look at this misleading; it doesn't carry out as nicely as it implies.
