The board itself is great, but I have to say I've grow to be a life-lengthy customer for ASUS for their client service. Much less than a minute I am talking to a particular person who effectively helped with the issue (bad rail from PSU). Compared to the GPU's tech support which didn't choose up... No on board graphics? I didn't want this till I had GPU troubles. Would get again. Picked up the SSD on SATA and two 2TB drives on 6GBs SATA with no challenge. Posted with 24 GB ram also with no issue.

None. Just place, the board fails to recognize a "correct" memory configuration. In spite of following the manual and testing numerous configurations with quite a few sticks of functioning RAM, I am left with obtaining to return this motherboard. I have constructed a number of high finish gaming machines now this is the second to use an ASUS MB. The initial one also presented a range of problems. I have had flawless luck with Gigabyte and I regret to say that I am likely going back to them as I do not care to consistently have to counter difficulties like this.

Has all the specs I want although I want intel would get on the ball and assistance the new usb stuff nativelyI only gave this four stars mainly because of the one poor board but the new one actually has worked well for the many months I've had it. Till Intel and AMD release new processors, I doubt anything will be more rapidly than this home brew I've produced with out costing 񘈨 or so far more. There may be a issue with the non-primary memory ports but given that I'm working with 6 Gigs in the primary 3 slots I'm won't be positive unless I put in another six Gigs. I place 12 Gig in but only had eight Gig show, nevertheless, for some reason, there was a switch set wrong in bios. I began once again with six Gb in only the 1st 3 slots and with the new bios settings and almost everything worked fine. I've not gotten about to putting the other 6 Gig back in and don't really have a purpose to. If I ever do though I'll know regardless of whether it was undesirable, memory, wrong bios switching or, possibly, poorly seated mem chips which has occurred ahead of. This is the second of two boards, the initially of which had a malfunctioning 6Gb Sata port. This 1 operates fine with both ports running, one the principal SSD boot drive, the other a classic 6Gb storage HD.Gotta say ASUS support worked with me fairly nicely on this and would have let me return the board to them if I wanted as nicely as getting in a position to talk to me in English which avoided translation troubles. My last board I talked to them about, a venerable A7N8X Deluxe, was also replaced rapidly and with a revision upgrade with no any complaints by them.

Excellent function set. Quite considerably 'the future' when I got it last year. Board failed below test, and ASUS help has been giving me the runaround due to the fact I tried to RMA the unit. Offered wrong instructions for cross-shipping, had the exact same board returned to me TWICE, and just generally a discomfort. Was waiting on some elements and stuff came up, so I didn't start putting the technique collectively til late final year. When I attempted to power up the board, I got a burning smell and smoke, and traced it to a chip just below the initially PCI x16 slot. There is a modest charred spot on the chip. RMA the board, got the identical board back. Talked to ASUS help, they stated it was a paperwork error. Produced arrangements for cross-shipping. Followed his instructions on paperwork, was told later that it was incorrect, and they RMAed the board we sent in alternatively of cross-shipping, sending us back the similar board Once again. They say it tests fine. The chip is BURNT, and visibly so. Now they 'don't have any stock' of the board to cross-ship. Driving me up a wall.

- Overclocks simply!!!- Six core cpu prepared!- 2x SATA III Ports!- USB three.!- Not poor looking - Layout on PCI-E slots* *My two GTX 580s are also close to every single other (currently sitting in 1st and 2nd PCIE slot) where my major video card is hotter than my second card about ზ*C or so. I did not have this problem with my preceding Asus Rampage Formula X48 motherboard so it could be exactly where the holes on the motherboard were drilled. However, I nevertheless can keep the video cards cool due possessing excellent airflow in my HAF 932 case but it would be nicer if there had been small additional from each other (ex: in 1st and 3rd PCIE slot).

Has a detailed manuel that is easy to fully grasp even for a noob. It is just about error proof as far as hooking up power, reset and L.E.D. energy that most motherboards dont have. Even the board has connections labled so you cant get confused by seeking at the diagram the incorrect way. Seems extremely tough and flashy looking came with loads of additional cables for peripheral devices. Does not have an SCSI connector although it came with an SCSI cable so assistance of those form of legacy devices is not accessible the lack of legacy support is not a massive deal. Its good but at this point in time everybody really should be moving on to SATA anyhow. Go get yourself an external hard drive if you want to get rid of those old pictures or games from the legacy harware.

Very uncomplicated to set up and make anything work. The option to connect to the web with out any OS installed is good, while I haven't had to use that yet. I wish the BIOS had far more customizable boot order alternatives. You can't edit every one separately, you have to cycle by way of the diverse presets that are there. I wish you could just do each and every by itself so that you wouldn't have to do as substantially cycling.

None. ASUS genuinely did it to themselves this time. Making use of a no name third celebration controller maker like Marvell. The board does not work with all tough drives or memory, regardless of it's memOK! function. In order for it to even boot up you should very first do some significant tweaking in the bios, immediately after you update it. The Marvell controller does not help all HDD's, particularly Western Digital, the most prevalent HDD developer next to seagate... This challenging drive spent over a month and more than 赨 at a tech trying to get it to perform. I'm hoping I can get a refund, but with all the talk about how negative ASUS cusomer support is, I'm not also optimistic. I would give it zero eggs for this item but I require at least a single to post. Even though the 2nd channel memory slots died on me in week 3. I won't take any eggs away since Newegg service was excellent! The board still worked, but only recognized 8GBs instead of 12. Usually Newegg makes you send back the defective aspect before they send you a replacement. I told buyer service that I didn't want to be devoid of a Pc for over a week. My Pc was nevertheless functioning, just not recognizing all the RAM. They presented to send me the replacement in advance if I gave them a card quantity. Much more than fair! Great board. Really good build high quality. Lots of extras. Loads of parts.Nice utility to update the bios with no loosing settings from inside windows. Extremely cool. The rear ports cover has a heat shield on it, that was a really tight match. Kind of pressed up against the PSǘ port fairly tough. Feel it could almost certainly have a touch much better fit.Would like to have had 1 or two more case fan connections. 1 of the fan ports is "under" where a standard dual-slot video card would be, making for a quite tight fit.You should be conscious the board isn't spec'd for 1600MHz or above with over 12G of memory (or at least 3x4G)... one thing I wasn't conscious of... but some men and women seem to have good results with it.I'd like to see a far better procedure for finding computer software/driver updates. Their site application download method leaves alot to be preferred... and when I employed it was Quite SLOW.Please note, these are minor nit-picks though. The board is particularly effectively made, extremely solid, and high excellent.

Have had 1 yr, 3mos and nevertheless going. Squeezing out 4.4Ghz out of a 980X and behaves not perfectly, but pretty decent w / 1.4v (cpu v). Win 7 64 performs fine as nicely as Linuxes from tiny core, puppy, debian, sabayon and fedora (kde3's and 4).BSD doesn't work suitable at all, like it did for 775 skt bd's that I had prior to. I think the board is as good as it can be, considering the program is x58 / i9 primarily based. I practical experience what all other folks on the internet do :Net Browsing Freezing (Win and Linux's). It'll pass exhaustive pi tests / Intel torture test, and so forth even though. I took coat hanger wire (I know, unprofessional) and made a incredibly functional little fan holder to mount to the side of cpu tower cooler (true 120 extrm) to blow down on X58 ic to cool it. Functions very effectively. Far better than acquiring some aftermarket garb that doesn't function as properly.

Bought this open box P6X58D MB less than a year ago and speedily tested on a borrowed HAF932 Cooler Master case. This "open boxed" mB was a total motherboard containing every thing and had I not bought this being aware of it was a "open box" MB it would have passed as a retail motherboard. Extended story short I finaly completed this pc build to be utilized as a server making use of components purchased on sale from numerous vendors. Presently making use of the stock fan from the i7-920 purchased from MC with mild 3Ghz overclock. Purchasing presently for a Zalman 9900 cpu cooler but Newegg's pricing of ๆ is slightly overpriced compared to my other 3 9900 coolers purchased through ?Bay Value had dropped rather dramatically considering that I bought a whilst back but this is to be anticipated. This "open box" motherboard kit has a owners manual printed in Chinese which I can\'t use..minor challenge but worth noting as this very same manual can be dowloaded from the Asus site or printed by way of the enclosed CD drivers disk. Require a bunch of replacement mice, cables, and fans but refuse to spend for shipping...Newegg, how about absorbing the costs on all the dollar things when I order a higher expense item such as a case or processor...what's a couple of far more ounces & take to just throw it into the exact same order? How about price tag matching with your competitors and finally do away with your Egg-Saver shipping as it is horrible....the hand-off from DHL to the US Post Workplace is beyond slow. A basic 1-day delivery takes a week

Feature rich. Such as native SATA III and USB three. support. Two complete x16 PCIe two. lanes. Excellent manual and tech support. Only six SATA II ports. Yeah I guess you could use the 2 SATA III ports but nevertheless, they could have easily put 8ư. Only 4 USB 2. ports.Could unexpectedly bug out. See other thoughts. As some reviewers mention, the board might only detect 8gb of ram when 12gb is installed. When I first put my rig collectively I applied the stock CPU cooler (the half decent 1 from that comes with 980x) and every thing was fine, 12gb of 12 was detected and functioning perfectly. Some time later I decided to upgrade the cooler to a Noctua NH-D14 and lo and behold, only 8gb of ram shows up. Known as Asus premium assistance and they kept saying that these boards don't fail and that it have to be a busted memory controller on the CPU. In the end the board got replaced and the new 1 detects all the ram. Hopefully this doesn't repeat when I upgrade to 24gb of ram.

When working, it supports i7 series processors, and DDR3-SDRAM. I don't know if it's a frequent dilemma with the X58 chipset, or the motherboard itself, but I've had at least two of these failing to read all 6 Dimm slots, as it fails reading Dimm2 and Dimm3. I just will not get this product once more, that's for certain. Asus utilised to be pretty excellent, go figure.

Other than the on-board NICs, every thing is excellent. Overclocked to 4GB on water, 12 GB RAM, 2 drives, two GTX 280s SLI... it's been strong other than the NICs. The onboard NICs... Marvell junk. They work fine for browsing the net, email, on the net games and any other lightweight stuff. Nonetheless, they fail and freeze beyond recovery anytime you try to transfer significant amounts of information over your network. I ripped all my CDs 鲤GB) and tried copying to my media drive. This fails and throws tons of "yukonw7" alerts in the Occasion Viewer. When th is occurs the only recovery is a hard reboot (you actually have to poke it). I've gone through the entire song and dance with uninstalling drivers, acquiring the most recent ones, trying once again... over and more than. Absolutely nothing operates, and nobody on ASUS's forums have had anything beneficial to say. So, I had to rip apart my SLI setup so I could throw a trusty Intel NIC in the machine and now all is fine. Stick with boards that use Realtek or Broadcom NICs. I positive want onboard Intel NICs existed! Read my cons again.

A Stunning board, That is it. A single egg to it. Thanks for Newegg rapid shipping. It fees yet another egg. I placed an order on 11ቭ and received them on 11ቮ. Honestly, thanks for quickly shipping. Immediately after I received them, I began to build proper away. Soon after hooking up CPU, MB, 1 stick GSKILL 2G memory, and 5870 collectively, I turn it on. Just about every fan runs well, but practically nothing shows on the monitor. Then I test my 5870 and memory on my pal's machine, all of them function well. I have no place to test CPU and MB. Right after speaking to ASUS assistance on early morning ྫቯ񳏊, 7ᚷam), she told me it must be MB difficulty. Fianlly, I issued a RMA on Newegg. I I am nonetheless waiting for replacement. One more thought, I do NOT feel this MB is Truly BRAND NEW. I would ranther feel it is refurbished item with newly packed.
