Cons: Runs a little hotCap could be easily lost
Pros: Extremely fast as advertisedReasonably priced (got it for ~$40) Comment:
I'm surprised a flash drive could surpass a typical notebook hard drive in read/write performance this soon and be affordable. I'm actually getting speed better than advertised and the read speed is actually being bottlenecked by my hard drive.Real world performance, transferring large ~8GB files onto the drive, I get, on average, between 73-80MB/s. Transfer rate test on HD Tune, I got an average of 130MB/s. Transferring files off of the drive, I was getting just under 100MB/s (but that's probably my hard drive's write speed limiting it).The only real complaint or concern I have is that it runs pretty hot, so I'm a little concerned about how long it will last. But so far, I'm very pleased with the speed of this stick. This review was modfied by poster @ 03-06-12 04:21 PM |

Cons: Detachable cap can't be attached to the other end of the drive,Activity LED is hard to see
Pros: Faster than my internal hard drives, Slim body fits into closely spaced USB ports Comment:
Performance is blazingly fast on USB 3.0. I clocked write speeds at about 75MByte/sec, which was as fast as the hard drive I was copying from could go. Reading the files back into a checksum utility (which wasn't limited by hard drive speeds) give me transfer rates of about 130MByte/sec.The unit seems solidly built with a plastic case and a tight fitting cap. The cap doesn't fit onto the other end of the drive like it does with some, so you'll have to be careful not to misplace it while using the drive. The body of the unit is barely larger than the USB connector itself, which means that it won't have a problem pluging into tightly packed ports alongside other USB peripherals. The LED light is tucked beneath the hole where you can thread a carrying strap through the drive - this means you can only see it if you look down into that hole. It's not particularly bright, and if you actually had a strap threaded through the hole I'm not sure you'd be able to see it at all.The drive worked out of the box on my 64-bit Windows 7 system with a VanTec USB 3.0 to PCI adapter card. There was no need to to install any extra software. When I plug the drive into a USB 2.0 port I get the expected "this drive can perform faster if you plug it into a USB 3.0 port" message. I measured read transfer rates of about 35 MByte/sec when connected to a USB 2.0 port, as expected.I give this drive 5 stars because it lives up to its performance claims and the "cons" aren't really an issue for me. |
On USB3.0, I reached these speed :95MB-100MB/s in WRITES 105MB-115MB/s in READI will definitely buy again !
