This drive was incredibly uncomplicated to install into my laptop. Just swapped this drive out for the old 1. Popped in my Windows 7 disk and did a clean install. This drive is very fast. Windows loads in seconds. I'm logged into a usable desktop in only a few far more seconds. None. I was shocked at how straightforward this upgrade was.For the price tag, I feel this drive is a excellent worth.

Amazing speed, SandForce SF-1222 chip (guaranteed TRIM by means of OS setup and AHCI activated in BIOS)...Turnkey installation, factory prepped, except for manual overprovision (sic!).Superdeal from Newegg ... expired rapidly! Ain't got funds for the larger size, but that's OK for OS, boot and some significant programs...Of 60GB listed capacity, 59GB are formatted, minus 10GB for my overprovisioning partition... I was left with some 49GB available, but that's me... poor guy!For older MoBos some would have challenges dealing with AHCI & RAID: Resolution located with Intel AHCI driver!Documentation in the package and the Patriot website sucks, so get enable if you are faint at heart: PREP the drive just before even writing 1 file on it! My initial SSD, it replaced two noisy Raptors ࿆GB every single) set in RAID - and weighing a ton...Spent excellent time on forums and on my CPU magazine articles to get it straight with PREPPING the SSD! Worth the time... saved the drive, and hopefully prolong its life!

I am able to run dreamweaver CS5, flash CS5 and several other programs on this devoid of any difficulties. Incredibly rapid and will wake up your laptop. Not certain how properly it will stand the test of time but so far so great. 60GB is not big so file storage will grow to be a dilemma. The speed is remarkable but you'll want to have another location to shop files as 60GB is quite small. I set up one more pc in my home and transfer points more than the network to it and work from this. I nevertheless have plenty of space and would advise this to any person.

Really quick compared to what I was used to with HDDs. $/GB nevertheless high but not too negative, smaller @ 60GB. Quite content I produced the leap into my very first SSD. I hope it stays this quickly for the lengthy haul. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit begins up & becomes usable in beneath 30 seconds! No much more waiting for the OS to full loading all the junk & watching for the HD light to stop blinking before I can effectively open an application. As soon as you see the desktop appear, commence going to operate!

This factor is quickly. Windows Score 7.four My pc boots in 18s with this drive W7 Skilled 10s of that boot time is going by way of my motherboard splash screen. Shutdown time about 5s. Wish i would of went for a larger in drive capacity but for just windows this then is great. None that i can name at this time. They say you get what you spend for and they are proper. A SSD drive tends to make the windows experience a lot greater. Also disabled paging file and they say its a bad notion to defrag a ssd.

BIOS has zero troubles with the drive (Gigabyte MB), big sufficient for OS and most-employed applications (MS Workplace, Photoshop, and a few far more), very rapid, and of course, silent. Pricey . . . but worth it (in late 2009). The value has definitely due to the fact dropped. I'm going to upgrade to a larger Patriot SSD (probably the 120GB Inferno) to hold points on my OS drive open for a bit a lot more. This 60GB version I currently have will make an excellent iTunes drive for playing music though browsing the web or doing other points with my OS drive when my mechanical drives are not required and are powered-down.

Rapid, quite. Put it on my mini laptop has has a single core AMD NEO, boot time is smoking quickly! Windows 7 64bit rated this HDD 7.7!! The Vertex on my Core2Quad desktop is only 7. Also quickly that my CPU ain't keeping up. CPU usage is often 100% when I load some software program. I ought to have get the dual core version NEO....... Still a lot much more pricey than typical HDD. But you get what you paid for!!

Operates good, works fast and so far no errors and so on. Took forever to get recognized, even by the bios. Motherboards a M3A79-T which is old but not that old. Had to reset the bios, then she was seen there, nevertheless not in windows till I mounted etc. Awesomely quickly drive, not inexpensive but finding more affordable. Next ssd will be atleast twice the size. Got this to see if they had been stable sufficient and they are. My western digital black 64mb cache drive in fact put up a fight in tests but couldn't go more than 180mbps, ssd flew by at close to 285.

Great stuff. Blazing quick... I actually didn't think it was my challenging drive that was bottle necking my system, but immediately after I installed this infant, I could play most games on finest visual settings. Massive difference! (I often believed it was my graphic's card). Program start out up is down to like 30 secs (from power button to usable desktop). Total restart is 36-40 secs. No directions! I'm new to ssd's and had no thought I Necessary to transform to ahci. That was the only choice that worked for me even though attempting to install a clean Win7. If I did not adjust to that option, Win7 wouldn't let me install "Windows can not set up on disk". I battled with that error for 2 hours!! This is partially my fault but also partially the company's fault for not releasing a lot more info about ahci mode. I opt for to give this product 5 eggs, even though their was a lack of information. I just hope this item will last!!

Installed Win 7 Pro on this drive in under 25 minutes.SilentGives me a WEI of 7.2Speedy boot and shut downSuper speedy wake up from hibernation mode Even though Patriot was kind adequate to include a bracket so you could mount this to a 3.5" drive bay, it didn't fit any of my situations for some reason. It may be user error, but even if it was, it just implies to me that the installation was not that intuitive. I only place the OS and possibly a few other tiny programs on this drive to maintain the performance optimal.I place all pics, docs, and games on an additional drive. This drive has Sandforce, which is the only way to go.

Upgrading from a 7200 RPM drive, this is clearly many occasions faster. Installed with Windows 7 x64 with no issues, and TRIM appears to work generally. Whatever is stored on this drive opens in a matter of seconds. Not much space. I realized this when purchasing the drive, simply because I wanted to test the SSD waters with out jumping in, so I bought a smaller, less expensive (relatively) drive. You get what you spend for. It's not a 'problem' with this product, just maintain it in mind (Windows 7 takes up about 20GB alone). I got this drive to see if SSD is worth what is currently becoming charged. Right after employing it for a bit over a month - yes, definitely. I'm adding a second for more space now, and willing to spend a bit a lot more this time.

Mid 7's on WEI score, has been perfectly reputable therefore far, integrated three.5" mounting plate, cool red color (not that any individual but me will know) Will those of you who complain about the price tag of SSD in this field quit doing it!! You chose to acquire it, so man up and accept the fact that new tech is pricy! This was part of my wife's Christmas update of her Computer, which boots super-quickly now. She turns it on and off each and every day and booting time is more noticable when you do that. She is content with the speed.

I purchased two of these with plans for a RAID-, but ended up putting 1 in my W7 HTPC and 1 in my development Ubuntu Computer as the boot drive. A drive by itself is so quickly it would have been a waste to have combined them in my use. Storage capacity, but that was to be expected... I'm watching these babies to drop below the 贄 mark to get additional...

Exclamation and critical acclaim! These drives are smokin' fast! Purchased two and set them up in RAID . Now I have write speeds of 490MB/s What, the cost? No, I expected the expense. RAID does not enable TRIM commands to be passed. Nonetheless, the SandForce SF-1222 chip will Garbage Collect if the drive sits idle.
