Functions fantastic as a Win7 x64 boot drive in my server, operating on a Syba powered IDE adapter to a Biostar A760G M2+ motherboard. Read and write speeds are enough for appropriate functionality of the file server. Not as quickly as an SSD This card does just what I want. It keeps hold of my windows installation while keeping my SATA ports totally free for really hard drive storage in a server. It has been operating excellent for over a year with no challenges. Of course it isn't terribly quick when rebooting, but fortunately I just about in no way have to do that.

Cost is somewhat low. Don't have to preserve it. This is a slow card. I have a Lexar 133x card that is many years old that is 4 x's more rapidly and this card is rated at 266x?? Primarily based on what Patriot?? I would not propose this card to anybody. It is going back to the retailer I bought it from (not Newegg). Will most likely order one thing much more confirmed as an alternative of attempting to save a handful of measely dollars on inferior junk that is mislabled to fool the non technical customer. I did a test right here at household with my 7D. Loaded the card and formatted it twice within the camera. Focused on a fixed subject and held down the shutter until the slight pause then added two shots before the extended pause. Shot in RAW as that is my key technique. I began my stop watch in synch with the shutter button on the camera. Outcome: 4.25 minutes to total the save (𞸖MB). The Lexar card only took 1.3 minutes to duplicate the exact identical shots and conditions.Insult to injury was that 3 of the shots displayed a thumbnail on the camera screen stating the image could not be displayed. Under no circumstances ever observed this just before with any of my other Canon bodies or other cards. This issue is just crud. Do not order far more Newegg, don't place other individuals by means of this variety of false advertising and shoddy high quality control. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Buyer, We're sorry for any inconveniences this could have caused you. Please don't hesitate to make contact with assistance@patriotmem.com for any technical concerns you may well have and we'll gladly appear into the issue to see what the challenge is. Rest assured that we take pride in offering high quality items and superb service. Thank You for deciding on Patriot Memory! Regards, Patriot Support

Tried these out for rapid snapshot photos, write speed is pretty decent as far as CF memory goes for photography. Fairly sturdy and low-cost. oops. This CF card ྰGB 266x) will not perform with Canon 7D when shooting any sort of video... the save rate may be fine for photography but if you attempt to switch to capturing video this CF card will lead to your camera to throw an error, freeze and then need you to reformat the card ahead of you can use it once more. We had superior luck with 16GB CF Pro, UDMAs from Delkin... If you are lucky, you can eject the card and retrieve any photos you have shot by means of external card reader but the camera will not recognize the card until you format it once more and some of your images could have improperly closed end of files.

NONE couldn't use the cards from day one. I have no complaints with USA assistance. BUT they should do far more for me! I own a 7d began rma approach in usa. the assistance was rapid. Even so, i necessary an rma from asia ie Tiawan. The tech assistance there is terrible. IM WAITING three WEEKS for a rma number, it took one week to respond to my e mail and 4 emails from Patriot usa help. Taiwan support contacted me As soon as asked what was the issue (they didnt look at the USA support e-mail). NOW 2 weeks later I obtain NO reply. The guy is obtaining paid and sleeping on the job. bought these simply because they were 14.00 more affordable than other brands. NOW I had to purchase transcend cards in China for another trip simply because there ASIA help is too slow!!! I mean NON-existent. IF tiawan help is sleeping on the job just consider what there other items are like!! I will Never trust this business once again. 16GB for not a lot of cash SLOW Whilst I completely realize that the actual speed depends on the reader/writer, I am finding 18.7MB/s of study speed, as opposed to 8.8MB/s of write speed utilizing the identical CF card reader/writer. And, this is the finest CF card reader/writer that I have (out of five or 6). I am reading/writing 8kB at a time, which improves the benchmark compared to 512B at a time. Also, I am block writing to the device itself, not even utilizing any specific file method. This signifies there is no file program overhead.Employing a block (write) size of 512B (the usual size of a regular challenging disk drive sector), I can only get an average write speed of 3.3MB/s.

Affordable, affordable read speed of about 25MB/s Write speeds below 10MB/s Write speeds are awful on this. Note that the card reader matters when measuring these factors; I'm working with this as a difficult drive on my Wind Pc, which has a CF slot on the motherboard that supports UDMA Mode. UDMA mode is recognized by the OS for this drive.Write speeds are so bad it's frankly unusable as a program drive. I'm sad I waited more than 30 days to install this. I would return it instantly. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Buyer,We are sorry you are unsatisfied with the speeds you are seeing. Nevertheless, please maintain in mind that the issue appears to be with the card reader as the drive is host dependent. For any technical help please don't hesitate to speak to help@patriotmem.com .Kind Regards,Patriot Memory Assistance Team

none i can believe of. Purchased one card in Aug 2010 was awesome for 7d video and jpg+raw January 2011 Bought 2 additional for 6 week holiday trip. The two new cards FAILED TO WORK. Corrupted images, slow read and write speeds. I even tried them in a buddies sony camera identical difficulty. I was stuck in NEPAL 7 days hike away from nearest city and i couldn't take any photographs... chance of lifetime. THANKS patroit for deciding on the lowest bidding manufacturer. My fault for not checking the cards out prior to i left for trip. Cons: Speed not as advertised.

Pros: Price per GB.
Comment:
I bought this due to the lower price for the size to give me an extra card for my Canon 7D. Card works but not as advertised. Card is rated at 266x which should give a read of 40MB/s. Benchmarks at maximum 25MB/s read and only 15MB/s write. For the price, it is sufficient as an extra card as well as a bargain for 16GB. If you're looking for speed however, when burst shooting on a DSLR, I would stay away from this card.
