I love this burner faster than my dell and it works in my dell. I almost know enough to be dangerous when comes to computers so I thought I could burn color onto the disk. LOL Ignorance is bliss. Anyway great price great product may get the better one next time but will definitely buy PLEXTOR again |

I installed the sw on my new win7 and on my new xp box and it drive worked for a short time then stopped recognizing disks. The cs reps smartmouthed me while I was working with them. I did not appreciate that. Now they say theyre sending me Roxio 10 to run as the sw instead of theirs. Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next. Or I might just return the drive. |

Installed this drive on a fresh system using XP as the OS. The supplied software worked 3 times and then started locking up our PC. We had to perform forced shutdowns so I contacted Plextor support for help. The MODERATOR for plextor accused me of whining when asking for help with their supplied ROXIO software. It is logged on Plextor's website for anyone to see... Do your homework and save your money. We ended up purchasing another new drive (with software that works) by another maker that works just fine. The issue seems to be with (lack of) quality control and support for the end user. |

I built up a new desktop but Windows Seven does not have the drivers that work with this unit. Yes you are as stuck with basic DVD CD Window drivers but the Windows Seven media functions do not all work. You cannot slow down DVD. Not all DVDs load properly. So Plextor needs to update their drivers to Windows Seven operating system. |

I service and build computers and believe me; we have a winner here. OK I could use the $25 oem drives that I offer my clients when they are looking for a low cost burner, but after using this one, it was worth 2X the price. Simple reason is quality construction, fast and accurate recording, and QUIET. Not a clunker that chirps, screams, and clanks. Thank goodness for this device. Priced right and worth the extra dime. |

I have used DVD-RAM for years and love it. You read and write to it like a hard drive. I have most of my archive data on them. This drive can't read any data. Can't see even brand new disk. Manual states it uses RAM unlike any other drives were you can erase manually then write like -r. If you can't do RAM don't label it capable. What a waste of my time. |

This DVDRW works well and is quite however I've intermittent issues when it will stop reading DVD in the drive and I need to remove it using Device Manager and it starts working again after drive is detected and driver is reinstalled by OS. (Win 7 x64). Probably not supported on Win 7 with firmware that came pre-insalled on the drive. Also not able to update firmware because firmware upgrade utility can't detect drive. I had the worst customer service experience with Plextor. |

Haven't used it to record anything yet, but it seems to have the features I'd ever need. It is amazingly quiet. When watching a DVD with my old Plextor IDE drive, it sounded like a jet taking off. Their new SATA drive is way way quiet! |
