I am so frustrated with this. Error 4231 pops up with 90% of my projects so that labels are only half-done. Thought problem was CD software included...had to do internet search to uninstall that program as it wouldn't go bye bye with usual uninstall program maneuvers. Even with THAT program gone from my computer error 4231 rears its ugly head and the manufacturer sites do not address it at all and one is left to public forums which have given up on the problem as well. Don't bother. Dud product. Waste of my money. I am so mad.

I burn a lot of stuff and my DVD burner in my laptop started to crash on me. It would tell me it couldnt recognize 30 or 40 discs of my 100 pack. So I got this burner and it found every DVD I have put into it, including the ones the other burner didn't recognize. Love the DVD burner, great price too. Verrry fast at ripping and burning.

Good as expected, just a little large, being a USB external device, it will be better if smaller and compact.

It has performed well. I should have waited for the model with the e-sata interface to get faster transfer, but if you only has usb this is a good buy.

I've had no coasters so far with this ! It works great, its not that heavy so it can be stuffed inside a suitcase and its fast !!!!! The case looks great and the included stand saves on desk real estate ! 5 stars

I needed a replacement DVD burner for my Gateway laptop, I thought an external would be useful for other application. It works fine for most applications but not for making back up copies of movies that I own. I have 3 laptops that perform correctly, the Gateway used to work right until it's internal DVD burner died. This Plextor does not.

I already owned an external Plextor unit which continues to perform admirably. One of my internal burners started to fail, resulting in the need for another unit. I chose this new Plextor and found it to be an easy install and a full-featured unit. It works great and the price was right! No problems: Lightscribe, burning, and reading features all perform flawlessly.

I purchased a Lightscribe drive here but I got disappointed when I found it to Label discs but not read them. Or you could write data to them but then it would not read the other side to put a label on it. So I ordered this unit (Plextor) and I received it a little while ago, plenty of time to try it out. It works flawless!!!! It is a very nice looking unit and the finish is absolutely beautiful! It works on my PC and Macbook. The first drive was a disappointment but it was not Compusa's fault, I decided to keep it around just for data transfer, it works for that. Thanks to Compusa, as always this purchase was a pleasant experience for me. I am Happy!

Drive works great! Was very surprised how fast it burned a full DVD versus my old internal drive, and I can move it from computer to computer. The piano black finish is beautiful. Also the power adapter is not bulky.
