Comment:
got this card , mainly cause it's one of the few reference 7970's still available :P cause i water cool every gpu i own , max overclock i can achieve under water is 1350/1800 with a temp of 34-35c under full load , ambient 25c (did 1290/1775 with the stock cooler)load temp under water is cooler then the card idles at with the stock cooler lol , i have no coil whine at all , just like my other 7970 (xfx 7970 black edition)awesome gpu specially under water :)

Cons: fan noisy at higher speedssome coil whine

Pros: effortless overclock super fast unlocked voltage & clocksnice effective cooler
Comment:
Great card, with a couple of negatives. To be honest, I had set the bar pretty high in my mind for this card, as MSI has such outstanding products. I am mostly happy with it.It overclocks to 1200 mhz core v 1.2v core (1400mhz memory) with no trouble. Temps top out at 75 celsius at this overlock under load in BF3 Ultra v 2560 x 1440.Coil whine isn't bad, but i was hoping for none at all. Fan noise gets distracting v 55% and up.

Cons: fan is rather loud on 100%runs hotter than other 7970

Pros: Dual BiosUnlocked Voltagevery rigid solid buildundervolts like crazy, 1.256 default, down to 1.070v with 1030/1500 clocks
Comment:
Picked up this card to go in a crossfire configuration with my current powercolor 7970.Clocking both cards to the same vcore, vmem, and clocks 1030/1500 with the MSI in the upper PCI slot. The MSI card reached temperatures about 10-14 degrees hotter under extended full load. Disabling the lower card the MSI card still runs about 4-7 degrees hotter. the fans at 100% are also louder than the powercolor 7970. I have yet to test this in the opposite configuration. Based on this recent testing, I will likely be swapping the order of cards. to try and reduce the overall temps. With that said, the build quality on this MSI 7970 feels much better than the powercolor 7970.Overall I was a little sad to see the much cheaper card achieve lower temps with the same settings. both cards (the ones that I received) had dual bios switch, unlocked voltage, and a decently high overclock limit which makes the higher price somewhat questionable.Despite the higher temps, louder fan, and higher price, I'd still recommend this card purely for the solid build quality and easy overclocking and undervolting.
