Very good webcam for a very cheap price when on sale. It's very small, much smaller than I thought. A few mounting options - a stand, a clip that goes on top of the monitor, a stick on magnetic patch. The cable is a little short, which only allowed me to use one mounting option - the stand. However, this can be remedied by using a usb extension cable |

My Dad's cheap 1.3MP web cam took a fall on his desk and broke. So I bought this to replace it. The build quality of this Microsoft 2.0MP Lifecam looks much better than the Generic (no name brand) that broke.In terms of MP, I do not see a huge difference between this 2.0MP webcam and my Dad's previous 1.3MP webcam.Unlike the previous web cam, this one was recognized by Windows XP Home (on my Dad's computer) immediately.The short USB cable problem was alleviated by a cheap USB extension cable. |

So far this compact web cam has been great. The quality is outstanding, especially in low-light environments (I was really impressed). True the mounting options are a bit weak, but this wasn't made for an industrial environment. However, it does come with multiple mounting options unlike most cams. I use it for personal use; one for my home desktop and another for my laptop when I'm traveling. My family and I look forward to putting it to more use. |

OVER ALL THE WEBCAM PERFORMS GREAT I LIKE IT BUT THE MOUNTING IS NOT VERY STABLE TO ME. THE CAM SHOULD HAVE BEEN MOUNTED ON A PIVOT BRAACKET X AND Y AXIS. MICROSOFT COULD HAVE IMPROVED ON THE BRACKET BETTER THAN THE OFFERED TO ME. OVER ALL I LIKE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAM. SO I HAVE TO RATE IT CLOSE TO HIGH MARKS. I RECOMMEND YOU BUY THIS CAM BECAUSE IT GOOD COLOR QUALITY AND IT DELIVERS CLEAR VIDEO SIGNAL. EVEN THOUGH THE BUILT IN MIC IS NOT THAT GOOD. |
Great cam, especially if on sale. Easy to mount on its stand or with a magnetic button.This is likely meant for a laptop because the cord is extremely short ~3' - so beware!
