Moves a lot of air. The sale price tag created it properly worth the cash. Will function with most laptops. None This is not a handy, transportable cooler. Should be employed on your desk as a much more permanent item. Use a lightweight cooler to take on the road.

Massive FAN, really quiet! Cools a Big Location, not some modest centralized location. It has a USB pass-thru so that you don't drop a USB plug. It is produced largely of metal (aluminum?),but the legs ARE plastic. Look to be higher strength plastic although. Cooling action is not negative, but is this seriously the greatest we can do with 5 volts? Maybe when USB 3. becomes mainstream we'll see additional powerful cooling options. I was honestly expecting a bit far more cooling energy out of this.It appears to function far better when at an angle, as opposed to getting entirely flat also. Sadly, the legs end up protruding nicely behind the unit, which I'm unhappy about. I may possibly trim the legs a bit for this purpose. I got it on sale. The common value is just as well considerably I feel. I'm delighted with it, it's not loud at all, which is a real plus!I found that removing the plastic molding from the bottom of my laptop in addition to this cooling device actually keeps my laptop running as cool as doable, and that tends to make me content.

Cheap and quiet. Has spots to store extras. Not actually appropriate for your lap, in spite of being produced for laptops. the drawers don't genuinely latch, generating it uncomplicated for everything to spill out. The adjustment to raise and decrease it is surely sub par, nonetheless it does work. It'd be good to be capable to use it on your lap more simply. Also an solution to run off external battery energy would have been good. I guess you could rig one thing up though. Manufacturer Response:Dear Consumer, We apologize for the inconvenience. This cooler is developed as Gaming Cooling Stand that stationary on your table and which is not light sufficient be a portable unit or match on your lap. This is a really study gaming cooler that produced of thick Aluminum plus a big silent fan.Buyer satisfaction is crucial to us. If you like to refund this unit, please speak torma@rosewill.com and we will attempt our ideal to serve you. Ideal Regards,Rosewill

The fan is massive so it doesn't need to have to spin as rapidly to move a lot of air, creating it generally silent. It also cools a big area, some laptop coolers on blow air on a small area. I couldn't use play games on my laptop for a lot more than 20 minutes with out it shutting down or slowing down too much to be of use. I can now play for as long as I want with out a difficulty, and my apartment gets quite hot often. Extremely encouraged cooler. Haven't found any however

This is a fairly sturdy laptop cooler. It is indeed able to hold up to 17 inch laptop no difficulty. The key con, as to most of the coolers i've had, is the weak fan. I'm working with a Gateway FX gaming laptop, and i've however to come across a fan capable of maintaining it cool adequate from degrading performance.

Pretty sturdy and nicely built. Don't think the other guys that say this thing is comparable to the smaller units with tiny twin fans. It moves a LOT of air. These dual 15CFM fans are no match for this beast's 100CFM 220mm fan. Absolutely a fantastic obtain if you have a big, strong laptop that sits at a desk and generates a lot of heat The legs truly aren't all that sturdy, and can bend from side to side if you have a heavy laptop. It also doesn't like front ports considerably, definitely. The USB hub doesn't look to perform suitable, I plugged my external Tough Drive in and Windows gave an unrecognized device error. Not positive if this indicates it's defective. Employing it to cool a monster 17.3" HP dv7 with a Turion II Dual Core, and Radeon HD 4650, it generated a TON of heat just before, but so far this has been keeping it cool when gaming, which is what I was hoping for. However! Simply because of the molding more than my front audio ports it sits unevenly when working with it as a stand, and also blocks my infared sensor unless I shift it to a single side. Even undertaking that though it sits extremely firmly and snugly and I'm not worried about it tipping more than. I didn't take a star for this as the design and style is nevertheless solid and no cooler like this is compatible with Each laptop. Also maintain in mind that this is not a cooler that's meant for lap-use, I'd hope this was apparent to most but you under no circumstances know...

I have owned a handful of diverse sorts of laptop cooling pads but none compare to this 1...its hard aluminum frame has currently endured becoming dropped when i took it out of the box (put a good dent in my wood floor) and its big 120mm fan does just what its supposed to, move lots of air very quietly could have place a little far more comfort into the wrist area alternatively of hard aluminum and a tiny rubber strip to hold me from cutting myself Ƒǘ an egg for that) and perhaps put usb ports on both sides [my studio XPS's ports are on the left even though the pads' ports are on the correct Ƒǘ an egg for that)you know, just small factors like that I use a Dell Studio XPS that runs an Intel Quad-core i7 with an ATI Radeon 5730 M. This computers idle temp w/o lappad is 136*F on typical and 160*F below a load, meanwhile with the lappad its idle temp ranges from 114-120*F and 145-150*F under a load. So, if you are buying this for gaming, its your income but i wouldnt reccommend it, nevertheless if its just for the each day net browser or moviegoer than id give it two to 3 thumbs up!

This point is extremely high good quality, that's for sure. The legs look like they won't be sturdy in the picture, but they are. It was simple to setup and the fan spins good and slow for no noise but great airflow. Just for specs, I'm utilizing this on a toshiba laptop with a 16inch screen. A lot more usb ports would be a plus. This is definately not a laptop cooler that you can place on your lap. Much more for a stand on a desktop.

Operates good, incredibly quiet! It would be nice if this item had its personal energy cord in addition to getting in a position to connect via the laptop's energy. Whatever you make a decision, Rosewill supplies great service and support - particularly to its Newegg customers.

This is a excellent laptop fan if you can maintain it in one place - nevertheless, it's a bit cumbersome if you plan to be on the move a lot. I appreciate how cool it keeps my laptop - it has a strong state hard drive that generates enough heat that I can't truly rest the computer on my lap. The adjustable legs are really sturdy, but I don't discover myself making use of them very typically. I've had the fan for more than a year now and it's still in tip-best situation! The only con is that the fan tends to loosen over time and rattles against its cage, but this is fixable by removing the cage temporarily to tighten the screws on the fan.

Really straightforward to set up. I glanced at the directions then just set it up. I had it prepared to use with the angle I wanted in about 2-three minutes.Cools incredibly efficiently. My computer system isn't hot to the touch any longer.Very quiet (I have trouble telling it's on, unless I stick my hand under it).Strong contruction. Most of these items are inexpensive pieces of junk. The Aluminum would cool greater if it was uncoated, considering that anodizing or any coating is a thermal barrier, but then it would corrode soon after time, so this is quite minimal. I'm just getting an engineer.Otherwise, none however. I have a 17" widescreen gateway FX with a core two duo (I believe 1.6GHz), and the Nvidia GTS 8800. When I play any current games (Dragon Age, or Mass Effect two) my laptop would overheat. I employed to prop up the back finish working with a double DVD case to lift the battery end about 1.5". But following playing any of these games for a half hour, the bottom of my laptop would be hot to the touch and my keyboard would get warm. Just before I propped it up, my laptop would occasionally overheat and shut off. I played Mass Impact two final night for 5 hours and the bottom of my laptop exactly where the GPU is by no means got hot at all. It was cool to the touch. That alone tends to make this worth it. The fan feels like it's blowing down additional than up, but it's functioning effectively. I have my laptop centered and there is no wobble, so this operates just fine for a 17" widescreen laptop, I don't know why folks are complaining. It's fairly sturdy.

Really quite, and ergonomically sleek! (Noiseless)fantastic permanent desktop stand for any required position.Big fan circulation coverage area.Constructed in storage compartments.powered by USB hyperlink, no additional plugs needed! And not to overlook, that good Rosewill logo staring me in the face. The only Con in my opinion is the reality that the legs are a bit skinny and i be concerned they could get bent or broke from the weight of my wrists on the computer system surface when typing. This is a fan that seriously delivers. I advise this for any a single who's hunting steer clear of the stresses of a laptop shut down due to overheating.

It runs... Poorly believed out style, mediocre cooling, no access to front media ports, rubber feet where they do no excellent and no feet at all where required... It's a massive unit, which I was expecting. Nonetheless on all 3 of my standard 15.six" laptops it's not a very good match. While they state up to 15's and have stated it'll cool 17's, it' fits 14's. My 15.6's hang on each side a good 1.5 inches. My biggest gripe nonetheless is that on all 3 of my laptops the media ports are on the front edge of the laptop. With the wrist guard ramp thing on the front of the cooler it blocks off access to the media ports on all three units. There is a channel that appears like it May possibly have been developed to function around this but it's so poorly implemented as to be completely useless. I can't plug headphones or anything into any of my laptops, not with no sliding the laptop back on the cooler a excellent two inches to develop space for the 3.5mm jack.Lastly the rubber feet are in no spot to be helpful. The front feet don't touch the desk at all, but the metal aspect behind the 'hinge' does and scratches the heck out of my wood desk. I am returning this for certain.

Quiet, 1 extra USB port It has to be up to about 45 degree angle to get the airflow. Not developed for flat use. I use mine in a auto repair shop, doesn't have the air pressure. My targus 2 fan(don't like) puts out much more air pressure that the Rosewill. My test consist off taking a Walmart like receipt, turn fan on and hold receipt to face of fan and see how high it blows it off the face. When on sale, perhaps yes, I will advise. Would not advocate in a outdoors environment

Great stand for my laptop even though I use external monitor, keyboard and mouse. The laptop fan by no means goes on anymore so this should be carrying out it's job. Fan is a bit noisy on full. Perhaps it's off balanced but a slight turn from fastest setting and you can barely hear it. Looks super modern day and it's METAL not affordable plastic. The hidden compartments are amazing for my glaucoma medicine.Be good if it came with AC adapter but the USB on the fan is in a good spot for my wireless stuffs so it operates out good.

Cheap.Quiet fan. Sturdy Has holders to put junks in The knob on the right can not be tighten. It appears that other people today have been having the identical difficulty. I had put a 'washer' (folded tiny piece of paper) to hold the knob from slipping. Good item for the value. But the 'defective' knob was not that outstanding. If Rosewill is attempting to "bring quality hardware and inexpensive prices collectively", they surely have a extended way to go.

Keeps laptop cool (period)....although there are a tone of reports that will say that these products are not for this purpose.I have noticed a 17% drop in systems temperatures, even at intense use. From the questionable overall performance I am getting, I would have to say that this is a prospective WIN for laptop cooler buyers Package received crushed.Very small influence packaging material.Inner box and solution seemed undamaged at time.Supplied USB cable damaged.Cooler fan was Jammed upon receiving.Fan had to be broken loose to spin freely.Had to use individual alternative USB cable to get cooler operating. As soon as plugged in with working USB cable; Fan generator emitted burning smell....fan would not spin!Fan had to be physically broken totally free as it was jammed in location and would not spin freely by hand. With option cable and fan physically broken free; cooler performs, but now has a loud "tick" in cycle and an annoying vibration.I also can not verify that the cooler is operating at peak proficiency. I can not afford to RMA and ship....so I am stuck with what could have possibly been an excellent item :( I bit ticked that I am unable to afford to re-package and ship this item back for a replacement :(I have by no means had a undesirable incident with Newegg and the goods they sell....everI am figuring this as a Luck-of-the-Draw circumstance as is frequent when any electronics is purchased.I will nonetheless continue to extremely advocate Newegg as a super place to obtain the goods made available.I will even go so far as to endorse the obtain of this item ;)

We bought it last time it was a Shell Shocker (a few months ago), was well worth the sale price tag. It was practically silent when we got it, sturdy construction. Over time it has gotten louder, nevertheless not as loud as several I have gotten in the past, but louder than it was. Would give 4.five eggs if I could do 1ǘ's I wish the front piece was removable (the wrist rest). Not sufficient to take away eggs for, but we use it to maintain a small laptop cool for use in the kitchen (recipes, Pandora whilst cooking, and so forth) and it takes up room it doesn't want to. As always, Newegg got it to me quickly, if I needed another I would not hesitate to buy (on sale, anyway).

Adjustable fan speed from really quiet to close to silentHeavy-duty metal constructionincredibly adjustable Fairly tall - If your ergonomics are barely working now, this is going to make it worse. Not excellent for use with a docking station I have my Dell laptop and docking station sitting on this. To even make this operate, I had to remove the weird wrist-rest issue and turn it around backward. With this orientation, the laptop sits level, and the height isn't a challenge, considering that I use an external keyboard in a drawer anyway.
