This antennae gave me a significantly stronger signal to my wireless router. I was receiving about 12 to 24mbit connetions to the router, which is about 20 feet away but through a door and various walls. I was noticing some substantial network lag and couldn't play on the web games mainly because the connection was spotty with the default antennae with my USB router. This antennae has provided me a complete 54mbit connection to with solid bars all the way. I'm difficult pressed to inform the distinction in between this and a wired connection, honestly. It also seems solidly built. The cord is somewhat short, but you seriously dont' want to use a long cord, so it seriously is the best length to not take away from the signal as well significantly. The base is heavy and won't get budged. I'm extremely pleased with the product. I can't complain about the item since it has worked so nicely. I wouldn't have minded if the cost was a bit less costly. Depending on your needs, you may want to use this to replace your router's antennae alternatively of your wireless adapter's antennae. Replacing Each might not be a poor notion, either. I'm contemplating doing this to enhance reception around the home as a whole.

Excellent antenna. I like that the fact that the base is magnetic. Took 30 seconds to set up. Went from 1 bar to 5 bars instantly. Would definitely buy once again. None. Cord is a bit brief, almost certainly only three feet. Not the end of the world, but some thing to consider about before acquiring.

Improved my signal quality five% -- see under for clarification.Base is sturdy.Antenna does NOT have to use base if you don't want to. A bit obtrusive. It's just about a foot tall. Nonetheless, you can often hide it someplace evidently, when a router is subsequent to your personal computer, the maximum signal quality is ㅪ%

the number of bars may or could not boost, but the antennae definitely boosts the signal strengthi hardly ever practical experience any drops or disconnects built in cord of 3.three ft isn't extended enough to get the antenna away from the computer take into account finding a cable extension when you buy this item

Base seems nice... Could not pick up signal. 2,800 sq ft residence, router on suitable middle of house with antenna becoming employed down stairs middle of residence...my orginal antenna that came with the Edimax EW-7128G actual picked up about 30% signal strength...thought this Rosewill antenna would have done some thing/anything a lot more... The first package I received was totally sealed but there was no antenna in package, just base...go figure...my luck with Rosewill items are hit and miss...bought a Rosewill energy provide and usb pci card and those worked best but this antenna failed horribly!

These antennas have practically doubled the variety of my Dlink DIR-655. I am living in a two story townhouse that is in the middle of the creating. There is a lot of interference with my wireless network and I was unable to connect when downstairs (The router is upstairs). I replaced the 3 stock antennas with three of these and have been in a position to connect when downstairs devoid of difficulty. None They are pretty large antennas, about 3x the size of the originals.

I installed a single of these onto a Netgear AP for a consumer. It made a distinction in the signal strength, BUT it wasn't adequate for the job. I think one thing was interfering with the signal. Could have been a small stronger, but not the products fault. Ended up replacing the AP with an engenius ap.

Shipped free with Rosewill RNX-N150PC PCI two.2 Wireless Adapter. The antenna that came with it was receiving 2 bars across a a single story ranch property but it wouldn't connect. With this antenna I'm still getting 2 bars, but I have a quick solid connection that doesn't drop now a very good 100 ft away. I wouldn't trust the magnet on the laptop case as it's strong adequate to corrupt a really hard drive. It's major; over a foot tall.

I have 3 (two with stands) of these and am impressed by the signal reception strength. Improved connectivity by way of brick and a number of drywall obstructions to wireless AP and computers on the other side of the house. Has a metallic clank if you shake the antenna. The most recently order antenna was poorly package, placed in box with two UPS units and no popcorn, just brown paper. The face of the stand was either placed or shifted to face the sidewall of the box, which following abuse from UPS, ended up punching by way of the plastic and side of the shipping box. The threads of the base and the gold pin in the center of the base were slightly damaged, but usable. Great product, other than the newegg shipping getting sloppy.

Replacing the common radiator on a Trendnet router with the Rosewill 8dBi stacked vertical enhanced acquire and transmit on all workstations which had been marginal previously. Normally, a couple of systems behind walls and down halls were seeing about 15-50% signal strength, and this came up to an typical of 35-80%. Bit prices have been typically greater with the improved signal as properly. A worthwhile investment! None, it just operates. Just don't let your dog get at it! An critical point to hold in mind when enhancing your router's signal is security. Since the signal strength will be enhanced by numerous dB, neighboring (not your own) systems will see this improvement as well. Due to the fact all of our workstations are within about 120 degrees of the router location (not scattered around in each and every path), I spot a thin copper sheet, obtainable as scrap at a neighborhood sheet metal shop, behind the antenna (opposite the laptop areas). This types a 'reflector' which will truly boost the signal in a common path, as properly as block/reduce the signal in the opposite path.Get a sheet about 25% higher than the antenna, and about four" to 6" wide - this is not vital. Bend about two" of the sheet at 90 degrees along a narrow end, to kind a stand/base. Then bend the sheet along it's middle, in the lengthy path, to about 90 degrees. Location it standing parallel inside 1" of the antenna (inside the V). Play with it for the best signal. It works!

Price tag and performance. This antenna exceeded my expectations. It's a foot lengthy by the way and absolutely enhanced my browsing and downloading speeds. None for the value. Bear in thoughts I am working with this antenna on a system in an RV in my driveway, so the signal travels by means of the RV then the garage then the kitchen to the dining room to hit the router. A distance of about 65 feet.

Excellent construct excellent, powerful magnetic base. Connects with my router two floors up with 100% signal strength on a Rosewill wireless G PCI card. Regular "mini" antennas only get 70-80%. Also detects several much more access points, some 100M away. Cable could be a bit longer. Can be difficult angling the antenna for finest reception. I locate i get the ideal signal when the "line of sight" to the router is almost perpendicular to the antenna. If your adapter has a utility that reads out a % connection strength this can be handy finding the ideal antenna position/angle. Excellent solution.. could be helpful to men and women in densely populated areas hunting for some absolutely free web...

I in no way knew how a lot of wireless networks I was surrounded by before. Removing the foot long antenna from the base and replacing it with the original rubber duck one seems to result in a three-7 Db drop (meaning you will see an improve in signal) but the ability to move it out from below my desk is invaluable. I like the magnetic base, it offers me the option to attach it to my case. I purchased the combo with the extension cable. You will see a 1-two Db drop if you use it but if it allows optimum antenna placement it's worth it. So far I haven't discovered any. Be cautious of placing anything by the base of it that could be affected by magnetism. The three foot cable on the antenna is a bit thin, but then again possibly significantly less copper reduces attenuation? Kudos to NewEgg, it was on my doorstep the day following I ordered it The antenna is not an auto-magic remedy. In marginal conditions antenna placement is vital, moving it half an inch may be the distinction amongst a solid connection and hair pulling. If your wireless utility makes it possible for you to view signal & noise level - use it when locating your antenna. If you have a lot of "noise" (as I do getting surrounded by networks in the city) losing a handful of Db of energy with a substantial reduction in "noise" when locating the antenna is a great trade.

I like the magnetic base because you can put it on a corner of your desk (holds up pretty great) so you wont have a 30 inch antenna tangled on the cables on the back of your Pc. I liked the magnetic base additional than the antenna itself. The antenna itself doesn't do substantially. Raised signal 1 bar on close networks Ƙdbi? I dont consider so). I tested a common linksys antenna from a wireless adapter (half the size) and it performs the very same, so that tells you a lot about the excellent. My tests are for a wireless adapter so I dont know how effectively it would perform on a router. If you want to place it on a Linksys router with two antennas I think you'll have to buy two for it to count. If you are searching to increase the variety of your wireless adapter dont get this omni-directional antenna. Rather purchase a DIRECTIONAL antenna for true extended variety. (My mistake)

Awesome acquire.Quite affordable price for a 8 dBi antenna.Great magnetic base. It's pretty large, and when you shake it, the antenna inside tends to make a sort of rattling sound when it hits the black plastic outside shell. I'm employing this in conjunction with my Rosewill RNX-G1 USB 2. external wireless card and my Rosewill RNX-A7B 7 foot extension cable, and I couldn't ask for much better performance. Rosewill rocks.

Went from "Low" to "Good" when I placed this on top of a cabinet next to my pc. I virtually anticipated to get an excellent connection with the antenna getting so close to the router...but it does the job. Add longer cables to these!

It had every thing I needed to do the job. Elevated a signal from 2 bars to six bars. I was doing a job to connect two homes subsequent to each and every other the AP was stuck to a window (suction cups) of the major house and their Grandma's house next door needed net so I added this to her PCI wireless nic ran the extension wire out the window and attached the antenna mounted it to the side of the residence. Protected area out of the rain. The plastic packaging and I got in a fight but I won. Scissors weapon of choice. Make sure you know what connector I was fortunate I forget to check. Granted this was for indoor use but in the case it worked fine for connecting two properties together.

Got the antenna and am utilizing it with my desktop that I have set up in the basement. I went from obtaining no signal with the stock antenna to having at least 4 bars and the occasional 5th bar. The magnet in the base is extremely beneficial as my computer sits on a shelf under my desk. With the magnet, I have it stuck to a bolt that comes out of my desk and it has not come off yet. The cord could be a little longer.
