My laptop connects to the router with an ok signal and my desktop doesn't even connect to the router working with the antenna. Says it's not in variety. Got the antenna and am utilizing it with my desktop that I have set up in the basement. I went from obtaining no signal with the stock antenna to having at least 4 bars and the occasional 5th bar. The magnet in the base is extremely beneficial as my computer sits on a shelf under my desk. With the magnet, I have it stuck to a bolt that comes out of my desk and it has not come off yet. The cord could be a little longer.
