Cons: Fan! Fan! Fan!

Pros: Price when on sale.
Comment:
A good PSU for the price when its on sale. OEM fan was garbage, i had to replace it after 4 months. Why would coolermaster use a sleeve bearing fan on this PSU???

Cons: Volume was loud but acceptable for the first 5 months, but then something happened to make the thing sound like a small lawn-mower. I mean a gas 2-stroke lawn mower. Louder than the fridge. Louder than an in-use microwave or hair drier. Grinding/clanking. Cleaning/re-installation didn't help.Suffice to say I had to replace it with another model.

Pros: - Cheap, obviously - this is why I bought it- Entirely satisfactory (including volume) for the price, until...
Comment:
If you are at all bothered by a loud computer, I highly recommend that you spend a few more bucks. I was satisfied with it until it... changed.I just I wound up with a defective unit I suppose, so that's the risk you run. Works fine until it doesn't. You get what you pay for!

Cons: really loud

Pros: low pricegives lots of power
Comment:
I bought this powersupply for about $70 at ncix and it does a great job on giving power to any system but it also is really loud. I would recommend saving a bit more and buying one thats not so noisy.

This is the best PSU I have ever owned. I have Phenom 9600, 4 120mm Fans, 3 HDDs, 2 DVD Burners, TV Card, Wireless Card, 2 Asus 8800GS in sli card reader and it handles all these. I think its super great. Cool Master is the best. 550Watts is a lot of power

Cons: -depending on the case can be tricky because for the fan

Pros: -black-good fan for air-flo-get your jod done for low cost
Comment:
it's a purchase I recommend it makes the job and doesn't cost too much. It also make cooling more efficient depending on the others components because of the fan position.

Cons: PS fan was often noisy and died after a year

Pros: Low price point
Comment:
Got the CM Extreme Power 550W with my system just over a year ago, and although it seemed acceptable, the fan often got noisy and needed frequent cleaning to try to keep the noise down. Yesterday discovered that the fan had died and I wanted to replace just the fan. It ended up being easier just buying a new PS, which was the CM Extreme Power Plus 500W. And boy am I ever glad I spent the extra money on a whole new PS! The build quality looks much better (if you compare the insides of the two you'd know what I mean). For now it seems quieter, and I believe that it will stay that way. Also a great bonus was more SATA power connectors (4 vs 3, which is useful because I could only use 2 of the 3 before because of how they were spaced out), and much nicer IDE power connectors (way easier to plug in and remove). And not a big deal, but I liked that all the connectors were also black, whereas the 550W PS had some white ones. So basically forget the 550W and get the 500W!

This is a great cheap power supply for a budget build. It can handle a moderate gaming system no problem at all. For the price, this can't be beat.

Cons: limited number of sata connectors....excerpt this, none so far

Pros: CheapGood performance
Comment:
I've bought two of these at a good price and it's quiet. The fan is not as noisy as the others reviewers said. Work great on the two systems (for "normal" users) I've mounted them on... great if you're on a budget. But if you're a gamer, you should invest more money and buy another psu. It's a shame that it doesn't have much sata connectors.

Cons: Loud Fan

Pros: 550W 16A on Both Rails
Comment:
Decent PSU for its price, but it has a really really Loud fan once it gets warm enough. Its currently powering 3 HD's, watercooling system, 7900gs, Athlon 5000+ BE overclocked to 3.2 ghz (at 1.45v) 4GB of ram.

Cons: low end power supply, not recommended if you want to build a higher end gaming system

Pros: A good, cheap P/S for average gaming
Comment:
This is a great power supply if you are looking for a cheap and reliable power supply for your system. On my system it is running a Athelon 6400X2 and a 8800 GTS with no problem. Although, if you are planning to overclock your system you might run into problems with this P/S. If you just want a better power supply cause you are upgrading GPU's I definitly recommend, for anything else spend an actra 30-40$ and get a higher end P/S.

This power supply is a Coolermaster Extreme Power 550W ATX Form, with 12V V2.01 and is very silent power supply. It also has 20/24PIN with a 120MM fan . This is a great buy when on sale and I recommend it for any mid range computer system.

Great price for a good PSU that can keep my computer running overnight. It's a lot better than a PSU that came with a cheap case. Time will tell with this one though.

Cons: Cables may be too short for some bigger cases

Pros: Supplies good strong power, really really quiet
Comment:
Overall a solid power supply, does the job and is going for a superb deal. Running this with a coolermaster cosmos 1000 and works flawlessly. Only problem is the cables are too short and some people may need extensions. Other than that pretty good power supply.

Cons: !!!!!!NOISE!!!!!!! WOW I thought I had a rack server in my room it is almost that loud... Everything.. 12v is not consistentMade in China "quality"

Pros: Price after rebate I guess but nothing else.
Comment:
Terriblethe Voltages are not good for a 550, I had a 400 in my system previously and it was stable.. this is not..Plus it is VERY VERY VERY LOUD!!!!!!!!Never have I ever heard such a loud fan in a PSU.I am going to RMA this thing and hopefully get a refund... it is trash... I'll get something elseIt is not worth it even after the Mail in Rebate... that is if the rebate is ever sent... I am still waiting on one from Cooler Master on a system case I bought months ago.

Cons: None known as of yet!

Pros: Sufficient Adequate Power
Comment:
purchased 07/11/07 received 11/13/07Seems to handle running 2 Roms, 3 IDE, 3 Sata, and a NVidea FX 5500 video card sufficiently. I keep the side panel off my computer for more efficient airflow so I can't fairly make a comment or statement about fan noise. I am quite satisfied with this product.

Pros: Inexpensive.Powerful enough for a mid range computer.Seems to be a decent quality unit.
Comment:
I bought this for a P4 Prescott/7900 computer. For the sale price I paid after MIR (under $30) it was a bargain. I haven't tested the power output, but it certainly seems to work perfectly in this computer that runs 24/7. The unit seems to be well built, certainly far superior to power supplies that come in cheap cases. Time will tell how really good a power supply is, but the early indication of this one is that it's worth buying.

Pros: 20/24 PIN connectorFan is really quiet
Comment:
All I was looking for was a good quality standard power supply and that is what I got. It was 60 bucks, and it came with a 10 dollar mail in rebate. Can't comlpain. Some people say that the fan in this thing is loud but I disagree. I think it is fairly quiet, I can barely hear it running. The cables are long which is a bonus if you are using a full ATX tower. And it comes with pleanty SATA cables and has the 20 or 24 pin connector to suit your needs. I am gonna start putting these in all my budget systems I build.

Cons: SATA jacks are the worst ever. Not as quiet as other 120mm PSUs.

Pros: Price and umm.... did I mention price?
Comment:
I bought this PSU to replace the stock Antec 380w PSU that came with my Antec case. I realize the Antec Earthwatt 80+ Active PFC 380 Watt supply is a pretty darn good supply but my video card recommended 450 watt minimum. This PSU is no quieter then the 80mm Antec but to be fair the Antec was quiet to begin with. Biggest problem with this is the SATA jacks. All 3 are on one strand and they BARLEY reached the top optical drive and bottom HD in my Antec mini-mid-tower case. This case is already smaller then the average mid tower so that is kinda ridiculous. The stock Antec had 4x sata on 2(x2) separate strands and was much better for reach. The Antec PSU had high amperage on the 12V rail for a 380W PSU and I guess I really could have stuck with it. But for the price after the rebate I sold my Antec and basically got this one for nothing! Free is good, price after rebate is good, would I pay $65 it? Never in a million years.
