This is my first LCD display, my first high-resolution display and my first widescreen display.It's impressively large if you're not used to these displays. Text is clear and sharp. Colours are vivid.Samsung is a reputable manufacturer, my Samsung TV is great. I expected the same from this monitor and got it.The control buttons are placed underneath the bezel with the labels on the front so they don't intrude and can't be accidentally pressed. The labels are quite small and quite hard to read because they're washed out in the brightness of the display. However for all the times you use the controls this is the best option.I like the Samsung MagicBright feature, it adjusted the display to just the right brightness. It's a little brighter than the 75% power setting through the Eco mode. The monitor runs quite cool, I can barely feel any heat out the ventilation grille in the back.There seemed to be no noticeable difference going from VGA to DVI.About the only drawback for me is that my model seems to have somewhat uneven backlight brightness. On a white screen the edges are noticeably brighter, especially on the right. The angle also seems to be critical, if you're too close to the screen the angle at the edges is enough to make white appear yellowish. It's probably my unfamiliarity with LCD displays.The reason the price is so low is that this monitor uses older technology. It's not LED backlit, there's no HDMI port and the panel isn't one of the newer types. The response time is 5 ms as opposed to 2 ms for more expensive displays. I do notice a little motion blur.For what I use this for though, this is an excellent display at an excellent price. |

Even though I was shopping for a screen with built in speakers, this screen at only $129 was way too cheap to pass up. Insane price from a reputable manufacturer, what more to ask for? |

I always buy Samsung monitors; I had an identical model to this for a year, and just added this model yesterday. A great product and excellent display. It's not LED, but for $135, it's just fine.
