The size of this heatsink/fan combo is enormous, ran it on an overclocked 6 core method for numerous days straight, and the temps had been really good. These aren't cons, but FYI'sɅ. You gotta plan what case you're going to use this with, you have to have the clearance to use this effectively - in all probability complete tower cases only for this large dog.two. The fan has the speed control and the motherboard plug coming off of the identical corner (which is regular), but you have to do some dry-fitting of the Heatsink to make confident that the "important" corner permits for the cables to attain both the motherboard cpu fan connector as properly as the insert cutouts in the back. I had to take the fan off of the heatsink and rotate it 90 degrees to make it operate on my technique. Due to the fact I'm not going to do extreme overclocking and/or use watercooling to hold down cpu temps, I wanted a very fantastic HS/Fan combo to make sure a extended life for my method. So far, I'm pleased. I assume the only improvement would be for an all copper version, but that's my preference.

Absolutly incredible. Easy to install, wonderful cooling for really little dough. Stock ran over 70c at only 3.6ghz. would hit this in as little as two min with occt. never sees much more than 48c now, And I do a lot of video conversions. cpu meter slammed to 100% most of the time. Idle temps around 30 to 31c. Very recommend for amd. A lot of room in my case. Don't care for the PWM adjustment. I run at complete speed, approx. 1950rpm. Effortless to set up The PWM Band Adjustable Controller knob did not fit by means of my Antec nine hundred two case. I had to apply some force to get it via the slot and a lot more than likely suggests that I will have to modify my initially slot a bit to get it out. I don't overclock the components in my computer and the after market cooler that I replaced with this did a greater job cooling my CPU. I just feel that 45c is below average cooling at idle and I did not put it on improperly. I employed arctic silver thermal paste. I thought I would be in a position to get much better temps by the critiques already posted about it, but I also reversed the direction my fan is blowing on the cooler, so maybe that's the culprit. I will turn it about and see and then update this post. This is enormous and not that its a con, but if you have a leading fan you will have to guarantee that the wires don't get caught in the blades. I also advocate that if you have a mid-tower to set up this while constructing your Pc not immediately after, due to the fact you will barely be capable to seat it effectively to the latches for an AMD processor. A flashlight or an additional individual will be helpful in this circumstance. I had to move my memory sticks one particular slot back to leave the initial slot open due to the fact the cooler extended more than the 1 slot of the memory slots (FYI if you are developing your pc, this need to not be a problem having all 4 memory slots complete because you will be capable to maneuver the cooler far better.)

Cooling - Exceeded my expections as far as cooling ability. My idle CPU temp dropped eight degrees correct immediately after set up. Then tested a 2 hour render in Adobe Premiere with 6 cores running max and the cpu in no way topped 38 degrees. With stock cooler, cpu was reaching 58-60 degrees below complete load. I wasnt expecting practically that kind of distinction. Noise Level - I lastly got sick of hearing the jet engine of a heat sink that AMD gave me and truly wanted some thing quiet. This Scythe Rasetsu heat sink has a PWM fan for automated manage as nicely as manual dial nob that slides in one particular of your rear case slots. With the fan speed set to low it is basically silent. At max speed it generates a moderate amount of noise but nonetheless half as loud as my stock cooler. Size - Not several of the newer heat sinks are below six" tall. If you have a side panel case fan like I do then you could have clearance problems with a lot of of them. The Rasetsu is only five" tall. - This heat sink extends over the very first ram slot on my motherboard. Not a enormous challenge as there is still 1ǚ" clearance from my G.Ability Ripjaws but acquiring that 1st stick out may require removing the heatsink. - Should have gotten one sooner So far I'm blown away by this heat sink. This factor is barely audible, dropped my cpu temps by 20 degrees more than stock cooler and charges a fair quantity less than all the other high finish heat sinks at the moment readily available. Oh and it's smaller sized as well! Hugely Encouraged.

good heatsinkvery effortless to set up,runs quiet, only time you can hear it is when it's at complete speed, additional or less 2,000 rpm.dropped my cpu temps by 9 degrees the nob that is attached to the fan, to handle the speed, was slightly larger than pci opening in my case, and my case massive(nzxt phantom).I just had to push it by means of, and almost everything was fine.

Fairly and shorter than several other overall performance coolers. None so far I was a small hesitant to acquire this cooler due to the small number of reviews, but I did some on-line research and found that other individuals had liked it. Now I am glad I tried it. I wasn't actually digging the manual fan handle but now I locate I like it. It allows me to set a variety that keeps my processor cool without getting loud, and it runs with the MB PWM which you can't seem to discover out anywhere on the net.

This is an update to a prior post. This cooler is amazing. I realized that I did not latch the cooler down to the cpu latch correctly. I was baffled by the temperature I was finding, so I decided to appear into my computer and realized that I forgot the most significant step. When I fixed my error and switched my fan to intake alternatively of exhaust. I have been obtaining wonderful temps. only what was pointed out in the post titled: Sufficient Case: Antec 902OS: Windows 7 64bitCPU: Athlon II X4 630 Propus two.8MHz O.C. to 3.36MHz GPU: VisionTek Radeon HD 6870 1GBMem: Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 6GBMobo: ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3PSU: CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650WHDD: WD Caviar Black 1TBCD/DVD: ASUS 24X

It ran quietly and kept the cpu at a descent 32 degree Celsius. Ran for up to six-7 months on the highest setting for maximum overall performance prior to it finally died on me nowadays. Kinda disappointed, but now that I don't have it on my personal computer, my cpu is operating even cooler than ahead of which is kinda confusing. Fan motor just froze up and couldn't rotate any longer. No wires or something else had gotten jammed into it, so guessing it was just a negative motor.

This cooler is amazing. I cant even describe it. Upon opening, it looked also major to fit in my situation but it was in fact a very good fit with an inch to spare between the fan and the fan on my side panel windows. This cooler is on an i7-860 not overclocked and temps reported by speedfan are approx 35C on all cores regardless of processor load. None I compared this cooler to a few inside the exact same price range and the similar size heatsink and fan and I took a chance with this one particular and it exceeded my expectations. I would reccomend this cooler to anyone looking for a high overall performance cooler.

I noticed an improvement quickly and when I overclocked my CPU by 8%, I saw a adjust of 1 degree Celsius at maximum load. I saw no adjust in idle temperatures. The fan speed manage is good as properly. Mounting clips produced the installation really uncomplicated. The size is great for my complete tower. Stock CPU: Max Load = 45-50 degrees Celsius SCRT 1000: Max Load = 33-35 degreesCelsius(overclocked) The thermal paste supplied isn't enough to cover the surface of a dime. If you program on tinting the heat sink and metal processor cap, you want a lot more paste. I utilised Arctic Silver 5 and I advocate it. Looks like an air conditioner.Processor Sort: AMD Athlon 64x2 5400Motherboard: m3a78 emh hdmi socket 940

Great cooling. Unlocked PII 555 BE ʄGHz idles at 32 C.Effortless tool-less installation. Supplied thermal compound is garbage. Used Arctic Silver.Gets a small loud when spooled up. Nevertheless not near as loud as the OEM cooler that came with the processor. Fit just fine in my microATX tower. I genuinely like the high quality of this piece.

Great design for narrow cases, functions good. Keeps my AMD 955 oc'd to 3.5 ghz @ 32 c idle and 47 c complete load (after a 10 minute strain test to get a reading for this review) I personally like the airflow it puts straight on the board. Rapid install on an AMD. This was my first right after market place heatsink install and It was fairly straight forward and easy Obtaining it to latch down on the board was a bit of a bear. I believed it was going to break a thing, but it latched and Its quite solid now. Also the fan controller knob wouldn't fit through the slot...no biggie just had to pull it off and then reinstall it once the bracket was installed I utilized the supplied paste and I believe it works just fine, if you have Arctic Silver use it. I didnt want to go acquire anything else.

Outstanding cooling below extreme OC sitiuations, super compact setup that enables any memory combination on virtually any AMD motherboard. Most of the 120MM CPU coolers that can truly deal with ᄫW CPU's restrict or block two of the memory slots. This cooler does not. Mouting hardware is effective but still challenging to install, wants to be a spread screw down setup to make this cooler top notch. Absolute great CPU cooler for the price, incredibly compact and doesn't block the memory slots like all the other individuals...LOW PROFILE!!

> works w/ additional than 9 distinct socket forms, which includes two sets of brackets to fit them> whisper quiet on lowest fan setting> whisper quiet on medium setting> quiet on highest setting (but you can truly tell it's running, but just barely)> the 6 copper pipes effectively pump heat out to top flow as advertised> perfect weight (not heavy at all for it's huge size)> 28C idle / 40C complete load (playing video games / burn-in testing (at 30 minutes)> really good price point for this type of performance> Confidence it will manage any future more than-clocking I may possibly do none. at. all. I went with this brand once more due to the fact I was so impressed by the low profile heatsink/fan I bought from this manufacturer last summer to develop my initial HTPC. I press the power button and can't hear a factor. I even replaced the noisy case fan with an 80mm Scythe. The only factor I heard was the video card kick up when I was playing video games. They just need to have to keep performing what they are doing, mainly because their stuff is built difficult and works. Below are my present system specs, precise to this fan critique:----AMD 1100T 6-core processor/ base clock 3.three GHz ~ at the moment over-clocked to 3.8 GHz/ Scythe heatsink fan spinning among 1,107 - 1,113 RPMs/ utilised Arctic Silver five, applied generously and evenly/ Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H w/ two oz. of copper (which assists in keeping issues cool technique-wide)/ HAF 912 housing w/ ƒ) 120mm front case fans as intakes, Ƒ) 120mm rear fan as exhaust, and top 200mm fan as exhaust. At full load w/ memory and 8" nVidia GTX 460 Fermi at perform as well . . .

Powerful fan, leading down design, special fin style, low idle temps. 85 degrees load at 4GHz with Hyper-Threading enabled, calls for the coolest air possible to reach maximum performance, push-pin design, not a big fan of adjustable PWM fan. I purchased this cooler based on the fact that this would be a high-performing cooler that would maintain my CPU cool from a lot of critiques from some reputable sources. I know that after operating a burn test with the fan on high, I found that I was somewhat disappointed with the item itself. It performs somewhat better then a Stock Cooler and if you can do additional modifications (better thermal paste and bolt-thru mounting then you could get 80 degrees at load.) Nonetheless, I don't really feel like I really should put in the additional effort to get a cooler like this to perform at it's best.If you're basing your buy off of the critiques that you read, make confident you know how it'll carry out when very overclocked. It may possibly or may possibly not be worth the funds then.

Cons: -Push pins are cheep-Installation is a serious pain-Unit seems too heavy for only push pins

Pros: -Great cooling, and downward blowing. -Dead quite fan-good price-performs better than my corsair A70 by 10C under 100% load
Comment:
I replaced a direct heat pipe cooler with this one because I wanted a downward blowing heat sink. I must tell you that installation was hugely frustrating. There is no back plate, and this until comes with "push pins". One would think that push pins would make it easy to install. This is not the case. Trying to get your hand under the fins and get the push pins through the holes on your motherboard is very very hard. Plus the pins pop out when you place diagonal pressure on opposing pins. Therefore be prepared to apply, and re apply, and re apply thermal compound over and over again as the HSF touches and comes off. Furthermore, it doesn't feel like the unit is stable enough with the push pins. This is a great unit in terms of it's functionality, but more should have gone into the mounting consideration (ahhem back-plate, area to place screw driver through fins etc).

Cons: Heatpipes are only 6mm.

Pros: Top down cooler keeps mosfets and ram cool. Fan speed is adjustable with built in fan controller.
Comment:
I'm using this on and X2 555. The fan is quiet at it's lowest speed. If you want more performance you can increase the fan speed but be warned, the fan will scream. Base of the heatsink was well finished. Top down cooler is great, keeps my nb and ram cool. This is the third Scythe heatsink I've bought (original Ninja and Mugen Rev. 2) and they've all been great.
