Straightforward to install. Fan is nice. Exact same cooling as my stock cooler for my i7 950. Almost certainly should get yet another case that will help a bigger cooler.

Not as well tallIncredibly quiet, speedfan adjustable fanAppears to have fantastic finish on bottomComes with thermal paste (although I use Arctic Silver five)Adjustable to numerous socket kinds and sizesHS block has 'undercut' on one particular side, can rotate to overhang RAM or VR components, your option "Pushpin" mounting incredibly awkward with 1156񳅆 mounting (two pins overhung by HS blades, challenging to get good stress on)Connection of different 'mounting arms' to key body feels cheesy Currently mounted on i7묺, making use of EVGA X58 SLI LE (E757-TR) motherboard, and 3x2GB of Corsair Dominator memory with the taller heatsinks. Have it mounted so the 'step' in the heatsink is over my voltage regulator modules so some of the downward airflow helps wash more than them. As stated in 'cons' above I had a lot of trouble getting specific two of the 4 'pushpins' have been truly engaged (I have the grip of a newborn, and my thumbs bend backward 90 degrees at the initially joint below pressure...it's challenging to get your thumbs beneath the blades and push with any comfort).If the mounting arms you snap into the base were a tiny a lot more 'sturdy' feeling, and the pushpin vertical was constrained a bit much more for the 1156񳅆 socket alternative, I'd really feel a small much better about this. Have purchased and employed Scythe solutions just before (still 1 on my Q6600 develop) and liked them, this one just felt a small bit 'cheaper'. Idle core temps on 930 w/ Vtt upped a bit for 1600MHz DRAM operating in the low 30s w/ fan R

Excellent unit. Heat Pipe technologies is constantly a plus. its big but quite light so you don't be concerned about it damaging mobo like some older heavy coolers i have seen in previous. Scythe fan moves alot of air quietly. Based on motherboard setup, like folks have stated, it could cover 2 dimm slots and wouldn't function with ram that have tall cooler fins. I appreciate scythe merchandise.

Cools 10 C superior than the stock intel fan and heatsink and is about half as loud. Uncomplicated installation. Affordable cost for the worth. I was hoping it would be even quieter, but it's acceptable. Despite obtaining what appeared to be the similar sort of pins as the Intel stock cooler, the pins engaged far a lot more easily and firmly than Intel's fan. I had expected difficulty and was pleasantly shocked. My technique has a e6500 two.97 Ghz wolfdale processor, overclocked to three.33 Ghz. With the intel heatsink and fan, cpu temp was 39-40 C. With this Scythe, it is 29-30 C. I could probably overclock to 3.6 Ghz or higher with this fan, but am happy with the present speed.

Fast set up, no need to remove MB. Does the job with out being a monster. Not silent, but now I can hear the machine write to the hard drive and not hear the heat sink fan from the other side of the residence (no joke). Would have been a tight match more than the RAM had I installed it that way. Asus M4A78T-E motherboard (AM3 socket) with G.Ability Ripjaw series RAM. That RAM has heat fins that had been in get in touch with with the heat sink fins when I dry fitted the heat sink. The Heat sink/fan is above the CPU and offsets to one particular side--I guess the thought becoming that it will also cover and enable cool the adjacent RAM. But it was a small also tight more than the oversize RAM to be comfy, so I just turned it 180 degrees. Clips for the AM3 socket had been strong and safe. No tempurature info--I purchased this due to the outragously loud OEM heatsink fan as this machine is running as a house server so goes 24ǝ

Lowered idle temps from 48C to 26C and complete load from 73C to 42C on an Athlon II x4 620 @ 2.9GHz from its stock cooler. Now I genuinely know how much stock cooling sucks and aftermarket coolers rock. Also lowered board temps in turn. None Program runs a hair bit far more steady. Cooling is crucial!

Replaced stock cooler on i5 - 760 mainly because the personal computer is just a couple of feet from my head on my desk (don't like 'puter on floor) and stock cooler even at idle is relatively noisy (much noisier than Gigabtye 460 dual-fan, 2 Nexus case fans, and Seasonic 430w PSU fan).This Scythe SCSMZ-2000 a.k.a. Samurai ZZ is genuinely quiet at idle 񡿸rpm?). Now noisiest element is Seasonic 120mm fan (and that's quite quiet). Keeps the CPU temp at about 24c. At load (full Prime95 x64 four cores) it tops out at 50c. Quite excellent for a tiny 450g HSF. Extremely satisfied. The way I have installed blocks two of my 4 DIMM slots. But also a pro because fan is blowing on these two DIMMs too. I'm not an overclocker or modder so don't know if it's beefy adequate for them. But for replacing stock intel with considerably quieter and more efficient HSF it's a great option, specially for smaller sized circumstances. (Mine is an Antec uATX box, the NSK-3480).

Low profile, and absolutely trounces stock cooler. Extremely simple to mount devoid of having to eliminate MB from case ---Enjoy the AM3 mounting clips! Comes with Thermal Compound if you don't have any on hand. No issue with RAM slot clearance, YMMV. Aesthetically pleasing, also! Can't consider of something to complain about. AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE. 4th core unlocked, OC'ed to 3.2GHz. Idle temp 27C. one hundred% load all four cores in Prime95 45C. With stock AMD cooler temps had been 62-63C. I'm confident I could push the OC further, but this is the range I was shooting for, and obtaining very very very good temps with the Scythe. Completely exceeded my expectations. Nowhere near as loud as stock AMD fan, either, which wailed at 3300RPM. Since I currently had Arctic Silver five on hand, I used that instead of the supplied TP. I anticipate temps to enhance a tad when the AS-5 breaks in. If you're seeking for a decent cooler that doesn't resemble a skyscraper in your situation, I highly advise this 1.

low profile (fits in antec fusion case). Very quiet low speed, sturdy cooling. Drops ten degrees from stock cooler for AMD 95W or Intel 95W. Installs easily on AMD. Tricky install for intel with MotherB in case (but not terrible). Uncomplicated with MB out of case. Fan is slightly off center from regular port hole in side of case. notched style can blow air more than RAM if you do not have extended height heat spreaders.

This CPU cooler is installed inside a Rosewell situation with six Ɩ) fan airflow. This was the largest unit I could discover that drew air downward toward the CPU just like the OEM fans that come with i7 chips. I figure Rosewell and Intel probably know much more about cooling than I do, so I wanted to maintain the air flow inside my Pc going precisely as they intended --- just get additional effective cooling. It chills like a charm. Temperature hovers around 40C most of the time.As other people have talked about, the install could be a bit tricky if you are carrying out it immediately after the motherboard is already in place. Would be great if the unit came with an further help bracket to go underneath the motherboard. Six funky copper pipes and the overlap style --- it look way cool and requires up much less space than many of those towering inferno CPU coolers. Coincidentally, with the attached fan, it weighs in at exactly 427 grams. "Yup, this infant's got a 427 under the hood." I'm confident I'll get sick of that line soon enough --- just not but.

Many,, 1st, by hunting at the principal image,, the heatsink pipes, face the RAM, and the overhang aspect of cooler, goes more than the mosfet on my MSI 890FXGD-70. Fits inside a case, effortless, that is no wider (taller) than a video card. So unless you are going low profile, this will fit.Does not black RAM at all,, AT ALL!!!Replaced a far more expensive and great Zalman CNPS Quiet cooler so I could have anything smaller for my new situation,, and this cools superior,, reduce temps all around, im thinking at least 10c.Im at 24c with my 1055T AMD CPU. Just before I was high 30's I assume.I nearly forgot the AM3 clips,, 'ing ingenious. I love them, installation was so uncomplicated. None whatsoever in my situation. The price ࿀ + shipping) was fantastic for the quality. Fan is not loud. Everything I talked about above is wonderful... but lets speak about these AM3 clips... the clips that enable you to connect heatsink to motherboard. wow, I have by no means had such an effortless time installing a heatsink, and i am confident these clips will hold.. Can we make this a standard people??? Great job Scythe, You score two for two on your revolutionary heatsinks Ive purchased so far.

If size is an issue, this is the excellent cpu cooler. It keeps my i7-870 around 25-30 idle and I have however to see it break 40. Extremely silent cooler too! None, although I wish they would get away from Intel's push pin retention.

Discomfort totally free installation, size, low noise, large 12C heat reduction at load. None. This is the 2nd aftermarket cooler I've tried on my I7 and will be the final. Prior to this my machine would reach max temp ࿨C for i7 860) in three min of torture test in prime 95 with no OC. Now with OC to 3.1 I'm stable at 61C max ~ 56C. This also is quieter then OEM and dropped running average load temp 12 degs. C. Idle at 32C OCed and with fan at 40%. Greatest of all, solid install without removing the motherboard, in contrast to quite a few bigger coolers. Also, downdraft will assist cool ram, and does not cover ram in ASUS P7P55D-E Pro-MB. Excellent item!

Wow. What a remarkable difference from the stock i5 HSF.Phenomenally really. Couldn't hear it at idle with the side of the situation removed (only the situation fan at low RPM). Ran CPU Burn and succeeded in barely hearing it from two feet away ramped up to 1800 RPM. Not a trace of the irritating whine endemic to the stock HSF. CPU temps in the 40s at max burn.My Pc is ridiculously rather now. Lots of bulk to this HSF. Test it in position all 4 methods prior to removing the protective film and applying thermal compound. This consists of generating positive your fingers have clear access to the pins or other hardware that secures it to the MB. Also requirements to clear the voltage regulators that ring the CPU.

I actually like the significant cooling fins on the base plate as effectively. This unit covers my ram as well. Does a great job of cooling my CPU. If you have tall RAM, it might not fit beneath this. I have Crucial Ballistix Tracer ram, and it's a pretty tight fit. My case has a 230mm side fan that blows correct on my CPU, so I took the fan off the cooler. I nevertheless run 39c idle / 54c totally loaded.{Asus M4A77TD} {AMD Phenom II 3.four} {Crucial Ballistix Tracer 8GB} {Asus GeForce GTX 260}{Thermaltake V9 situation} {Thermaltake 850 PSU}{Lamptron FC-three}

*HS surface incredibly well-lapped for constant heat conductivity*Near-universal installation system*Fits perfectly into my Thermally Advantaged Chassis*Fan also circulates air over some other components *Push-pin installation has some complications certain to this HS; to make the most of space, the push-pins are excessively crowded The push-pin situation is only substantial if you want to add/remove this with an current program. I did, and had some trouble, but not as well much. Taking it out will be tougher.I chose not to face the overhang towards my RAM. I upgrade my RAM every so generally and provided the difficulty presented in removing this HS, it's better to avoid blocking my slots even partially.This HS keeps my e7500 (OC'd to 3.8GHz) averaging about 38°C on idle and 50°C on load. I could maybebe even lower if I'd had the patience to discover my Arctic Silver instead of making use of the offered material.

"Six core ready". Overall, it cools greater than the stock AMD HS, and is significantly quieter at load temps. A massive pro is that the unit can be installed without having removing the motherboard. Installation was fairly straightforward. * It's a bit overpriced compared to some spending budget tower heatsinks. * Great case airflow is mandatory, due to the fact it's a downdraft HS. Superbly quietVery good Airflow keeps my Athlon X4 640 3GHz 95W TDP CPU coolIdle: 37C immediately after operating awhile. Fan is at 670RPM. I can only hear it when the area is definitely silent. (compared to stock AMD at 37C, 2200RPM, and whiny)Max: 58C right after running 100% on all four cores for hours. Fan was only spinning at 1200RPM and the volume was barely above idle volume. (compared to stock AMD fan at 58C, 5600rpm and screaming)At 2600RPM the fan noise is apparent, not obscene, just a low hum and keeps it under 50C. 4pin PWM fan is way greater than getting some knob in the back you have to manually turn to set RPM.Fits in my custom 'computer in an audio receiver' case (height constrained). 1 1ǘ inches to the back of the GFX card, and 1inch to the prime of the mobo / side of the energy provide gives some area for air to blow out the finsAlso blows on the back of the GTX460 and down on northbridge chipset. Pricey, but it is little, quiet, and efficient.... Substantially much far better than the stock heatsink AMD consists of with their Athlon X4 processors. I utilized the included thermal paste. According to some tests on the net it performs about 1°C worse than Arctic Silver 5, but was cost-free and I did not have AS 5...Installation was tight but prosperous on AM3. I looked at a lot of evaluations just before deciding on this heatsink. What sold me had been:Physical dimensionsNoise / cooling efficiency more than the fan range (it can cool as properly as the stock AMD heatsink, just at 1200RPM, as an alternative of 5600RPM)Construction Quality (heatisnk surface is mirror finish)Cost compared to similar sized or noise heatsink.I required something that would match the quietness of the rest of the technique, even when playing Metro 2033 or other modern day video games. This heatsink fit the bill.Note: I would have gotten the Arctic Cooler 64 Pro (due to air flow direction), but they don't make it anymore. This worked out greater due to height constraints even though...
