Purchased this as a way to remove optical drives from all of my devices. Ultra books mostly do not have optical drives, and desktops look cleaner without them installed. The fact that it works for my tablet and Rasberry Pi is an added benefit. No problems, single usb powered is great. |

Bought for $24.99! Slim! Power by 1 usb cable! I still have those IDE dvd drives in my PCs, they are a pain when I upgrade my motherboard because manufactures are ditching IDE connectors. This dvd drive is very helpful indeed. |

This unit is very thin. It can read or write just about anything, takes no space, and was inexpensive. It's a perfect utility tool for any PC or Laptop. Give one to everybody for Xmas. |

checked the Samsung page (http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/optical-disc-drive/dvd-rw/SE-208DB/TSBS-spec)they listed it as the same way "3.0/2.0" but it is clearly a 2.0. Very misleading way of describing it as one would think that it had both plugs on it. what else can i say... a bit disapointed |

This is a good little DVD drive. The unit is recognized by Win7/8 without any help.I use this unit for initial driver installation on new systems, or software installs that still require a DVD. For these things it has been great.
