Cons: -the "QUICKFIRE" lettering on the space key is obnoxious -N-key rollover and 1ms polling rate features are useless on usb 2.0

When I was looking to buy my first mechanical keyboard, my priorities were: a) it needed blue or brown cherry switches b) it had a numpadc) it didn't look completely stupid with a gimmicky "gaming" designAt $80 (before tax) with a $20 MIR, this was the cheapest keyboard I could find with the above qualifications. If you've never typed on a mechanical keyboard before, you've been missing out. The typing experience is so phenomenal that it just makes me want to keep typing. The blue cherry switches in this keyboard are rather loud, but unless you're working right next to someone, it's a non-issue. In fact, you'll even learn to enjoy the clickety-clack noise of the keys. My housemates even commented that I sound very productive when they hear me type in my room, haha.In terms of the unique features of this laptop, let me just first say that I didn't want a "gaming" keyboard, so none of the features really appeal to me. The backlight is kind of fun but it's also a bit of an eyesore so I usually keep it off. As I mentioned in the cons section, the N-key rollover and polling rate features are completely moot as they are not supported by usb 2.0 (if you try, the keyboard disconnects and reconnects back to its default settings). The function keys are a nice touch though, the winlock key is particularly useful when gaming. The letters are all etched so there's no concern with them rubbing off (unlike what the other comment says). This keyboard also has a high-quality braided cord and metal backplate, giving it a very sturdy construction.The overall look of the keyboard takes time to get used it if you were using a standard keyboard as this has a fairly strong "gaming" motif. They used some sort of "space" font for the letters, which I don't really care for. The branding on this keyboard is tolerable, though I would have been annoyed if they put on any more.All in all,I think this keyboard was a great deal for the price I bought it at. However, at its normal sale price, there are several other mechanical keyboards with a similar level of features and functionality so I recommend you look for something that looks a little more professional.
