Simple Set up. Completely Modular. Cable length fantastic for massive situations. Voltages have run very steady so far. Cable management may well be a issue if you have a little case. If you are a person who just has to have a energy switch on the PS, this is not the item for you. This guy fit in my large case effortless and I enjoy the truth that you only have to use the cables you need to have.Case: NZXT Phantom BlackMB: Asus M4A89TD Pro/USB3Memory: 4x2 eight Gb G-Skills RipjawsCPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965Corsair H50 CPU CoolerEVGA GTX 470Silver Stone 850WLG Blue Ray/DVD rewriterLiteon DVD/CD rewriterWD Caviar Black 1 TB six. gb/s 7200 rpmCritical SSD 300 64 gb

Reasonably priced, high quality power, quiet. Not put to use to stating this, but the cables are a bit lengthy. I have a Coolermaster Sniper which is a sizeable case, and the cables just have too considerably extra that I have to tuck away.Surely not sufficient SATA cables. I require 3. One particular for HDD (have 3), a single for DVD/Bluray (have 2), and one particular for added energy to the MB. Each and every in a far sufficient apart spot that they could not be combined. Ended up applying a 4pin to SATA converter for the MB connection. The PCI-E cable are far to stiff at the connector to the graphics card end. They have a thing that does not bend correct near the finish. Fortunately, the case is incredibly wide, and was in a position to get them bent sufficient so they had been not into the blades of my side fan. The poor style considerations I mentioned above are the only causes this did not get five stars.

Ahh, the paradox of the power supply. If it functions, you hardly don\'t forget it exists. If it doesn't, you can't consider of anything else. This is, in my mind at least, the closest thing ever to the excellent energy provide. It powers my crossfired 4870s with out a fuss, with enough connectors, and I think with juice to spare. I appreciate the sleeved connectors, which make cable management so significantly less complicated. Speaking of which, the cables are extended enough to go just about anyplace, with length sufficient to tuck them away neatly. Modular is created of WIN! And if you're taking it with you to a foreign, i.e. non U.S. voltage nation, you don't will need to flick an annoying switch to make it run appropriately on the wall voltage (long, embarrassing story.) Costly, but this is a single of the two components you do NOT want to skimp on. Cheesy brand? It can blow and take your develop with it. Not sufficient energy? It can blow and take your create with it.I wish it came with a lot more zipties, and maybe a bag or some thing for the extra cables. One particular far more thing: I'm weird like this, but I prefer to have a physical power switch on the back, which this does not have. This child won Hardwarecanuck's 850 watt PSU roundup. It's easy to see why as soon as you take her for a spin. I adore it. It's my valuable.

Fully modular cable system850 watts of energyReally quiet I returned this power supply mainly because I was so disappointed with the cables supplied. Silverstone makes an 850, 1000, and 1200 watt version of this power provide.. and they ALL involve the very same inadequate set of cables.Only six SATA connectors? It's merely not adequate for power supplies of such high wattages.

Its not like I stressed tested it or anything (though the guys at the Johnny Guru love this series) but its working fine for me. I like the cabling and the Full modular layout of it. Seems fairly quiet too. No power switch - although what I did is when putting issues together i employed energy strip to get the same effect as a energy switch

Totally modular, long cables. Silverstone has a history of putting negative fans in their energy supplies. Go with a manufacturer that doesn't cut corners. After the excellent evaluations this item received I decided to give it a shot. Worked properly for about three months. Then the fan failed. Support is a joke, they will in no way respond to any emails if you go by way of their web page. When I lastly maged to get in touch with assistance I told them I would a lot rather replace the fan myself, but was informed that they wouldn't enable that. Which is ironic because on their web page they give instructions for fan replacement for one more 1 of their models (they have a history of failing fans in their PSUs). So now I have to send in my entire unit in to replace a 35 cent fan. And due to the fact I cant afford to be with out my Pc for over a month I have to buy an additional PSU to use though the Silverstone is repaired. So if you add the cost of a new PSU plus the shipping price to send in the damaged unit, its going to end up costing me about ๠ to have a 35 cent fan replaced. Needless to say this is the last Silverstone PSU I will be purchasing.

100% modular, extremely quiet,80 Plus Silver certified, nice flexible cables...The price for the excellent construct of this energy supply... Not really a con but I discovered the cables to be abit to lengthy..I have a major case so with some additional effort I was able to tuck them away... The capability to use only the cables you need is extremely good for cable managment....It makes it possible for excellent positive airflow by means of your case....Just keep in mind how long the cables are...If you have a little mid tower you are gonna have trouble hiding the cables due to there length...I have this installed in a Cooler Master HAF922 case.. Running a 1055Tʃ.8ghz and a XFX 5870...

The 3 yr. Manufacturer Warranty. Your going to will need it! This unit burn out with a loud Pop right after 40 days.Had to drill a lot of holes in my CoolerMaster 690to accommodate the offset 38mm fan and the 7" length (your typical P.S. is five.5") This came from yet another retailer and was inexpensive but that retailers warranty was only great for fifteen days. The Manufacturer warranty says three yrs. but they would only refurbish it. I would not risk a build with this make again! There literature says they have no liability if there faulty item takes out your create.

I've had this power supply for about 14 months and it has been pretty good. I had to RMA it once about 3 months in because it was making a clicking sound. Since then it has been good.

Comment:
Got this on a boxing day sale for $99. This is simply an AMAZING PSU for the price and will hold it's own against larger competitor's 1000 watts, etc. Very solid, fantastic for overclocking, and MODULAR CABLES all contribute to a very nice package from Silverstone, who is one of the best in the industry.

This power supply is one of the top, if not the BEST you can buy, in any price range. 80+ Silver, 100% Modular, SLi Ready, it's very quiet, two 8pin EPS 12v's, which for anyone OC'ing and has an EVGA mobo is essential. Best of all it is of a high quality design and to be had for $150. A great deal for 850 watts of quality power.

Cons: Zero. This power supply kicks butt. Best bang for the buck you'll ever get.

Pros: Tons of power to run 2 geforce gtx series cards in sli. Currently running 2 gtx260s, upgrading soon to 2 gtx280s. All the cables you need, and if you don't, you just don't connect them! In my Antec 1200, cables are all perfect length, everything reaches.
Comment:
If you want to run 2 gtx280s, or even 2 gtx460s, this thing will do the job nicely! It has fantastic cooling, heatsinks fill this thing. The modular plugins are nicely laid out, and easily accessible. For this price, you just can't go wrong with this unit!

Cons: 1 of the 8-pin cpu power is very short. the 20/24-pin isn't long enough for optimum cable management.

Pros: 100% modularity... my pc seems a lot more quiet than before.(old psu is PCP&C 750w silencer)choice between 6+2 and 6 pin.fit a 8 pin through my impossibly small 8pin cpu cutout(pc-k62 case)
Comment:
Overall it's very nice. I have less wires in my case but it's not as tidy as it should be. Lose 1 star for the length of the 20/24 pin cable.
