Good hard drive for use as backup or extra space. 4Tb can hold multiple laptop images for unforseen events. Would purchase again. |

GIVE IT 3 STARTS BECAUSE:1 & 2 Star reviews are checked by NCIX staff for relevance to the product beforce being posted online!!!BUYERS BEWARE! I have several seagate external HDDs always happy with their product util now. Got my 4T expansion few day ago and it disconnected itself during operation since i plugged it to my PC. My 3T version expansion which i bought years ago has no such issue and still serve me well at this moment but i heard some people complain similar problem back there, so this isn't a new story, and for me this time the story came to reality. If you just got your driver and find your driver disconnect itself periodically or randomly fire a RMA immediately! Do not try to get help from seagate site or tech support update driver or firmware crap, they are not helping under most circumstances because this issue is most likely caused by an unstable power supply module from the shitty closure, hence it cannot be fixed through software or firmware update what so ever! If you google at it you will find out i am not the only person encounter this issue and you can see almost none of them developed an solution, in the end, i read one guy who had the problem opened the closure connected the hard driver to a usb docking station found out the hdd itself was PERFECT, the problem was caused by faulty power supply module which was exactly my skeptical after i checked and observed the disk through software then i did similar thing to the drive lost the warranty and got a "PERFECT" internal NAS hdd as well. |

As of right now, I am quite impressed.The drive is actually really quiet.The cover is plastic, but its a $150 4tb drive. It does not seem to be generating too much heat, so im not too worried about it.I would not move the drive too much, so it isnt a big deal for me, but since it used an AC adapter for power, unless it can still function only with included USB cable... It isnt really comfortable to move it around tho. |

Good for the price I paid, drive is on the loud side for having a 5900RPM drive inside as you hear spindle turning not head noise like in say a WD Black series.Write is about 100MB/s average on files 700MB-56GB how ever this maybe a USB3.0 bottleneck as the drive inside runs about 130MB/s on SATA.Over all good deal at $149 shipped and I would buy again. |

Hooked up drive and copied a bunch of files fine but then in the morning my computer was blue screened. Booted up OK and I left it on overnight as usual and it was blue screen again in the morning. Unplugged the drive and it hasn't happened since. I will just hook it up when I need it. The odd thing is that I have the 3T version and this never happens with it. There is a chance it is because I had 2 plugged in to my USB3 MB connectors instead of one but there is also a chance it will happen to you. |

What can i say, this drives is best price for your buck. On usb 3.0 i get around 120MB right and 140MB read. I have 4 of these drives so far and plan to buy more when i need more room for my movies. |

This is a 3.5" External HDD. So yeah, it's big. But, I prefer having the bigger drives when I carry 'em around, and it has a nice heavy weight to it. Doesn't get really warm either. Nice blue LED light tells you it's on and/or reading/writing. Super quiet drive. |

Good backup harddrives, a bit pricier per gigabyte than smaller capacity models. Speed is pretty good, about 120MBps writes, and slightly slower for reads. 1 year warranty is a downer though. |
If you find this on sale when you need cheap external storage - you just won. $139.99 was a killer deal, and I could not be happier. Not the quickest drive, and it is Seagate so longevity may be a question. But $139.99. 4TB. Yeah. I feel good about this.
