steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:- tough to push in mic/headphone jacks- slightly smaller QWERTY keys- no automation of active mod
Pros:- good back lighting- 2 USB ports- good software- ergonomic Comment:
The gaming pad felt a little awkward at first, but after some time I got use to it. Nonetheless, my hand and arm do not get tired. It would be nice if some of the keys had more textual difference to distinguish them.I don't really mind the intergration of the home keys and numpad. Layouts for the keys are not standard, so I am not use to a certain one. It is actually nice to have less distance between the QWERTY keys and my mouse. Be aware that the keys are a bit smaller. The Z Engine software is pretty easy to use. Things are easy to find and it is pretty intuitive to make mods. You can reprogram any key to your liking. The one problem with the software is that you always manually set the mod active in order to use it. If you play many games, it can be a pain to remember to change the mod. steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:system keys only work when numlock has been turned off
Pros:customizablestrong and heavy (tough)made for fps 3 different colored back lightscan turn off back light or even dim it Comment:
great idea and has a lot of benefits like the 2 usb2.0 ports, audio/mic outputs/inputs, backlight, customizable keys, and i like the preset keys list for a tone of games. the list is huge!!I wasnt much of a fan of moving the system keys like home, and delete to the num pad, but hey im lucky i dont use the numbers on the num pad so much so i can get away with keeping numlock off and being able to use the DEL key to delete my pr0n. |

steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:Arrow keys and numpad/numlock usage layout kind of annoying
Pros:Backlighting is nice Comment:
Quite simply, the keyboard is quite nice with the backlighitng features, though i wish the multimedia keys at the top were lit too. Numlock needs to be disabled to use keys such as delete home and insert, since they are doubled up on the numpad. As well, arrow layout takes some getting used to.Dedicated gaming area works very nicely, with everyhting in reach, and all the newest games (Gears of War) has predefined keysets already anyway. Overall, great keyboard, remember to enable USB keyboard support in your bios if you need the keyboard outside Windows, or else it will not work in menus and such i.e. Dual OS menu. |

steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:*None so far
Pros:*Excellent keystroke feel*Nice, even backlighting*Gamepad rubberized keys Comment:
I also own a Saitek Eclipse II keyboard and I must say that this one is every bit as high quality as the Saitek, perhaps even more. The keyboard feel is about the same. The backlighting is actually nicer. The rubberized keys on the gamepad are great! The action required to press them is perfect. The extra headphone and microphone jacks are very handy. After gaming with a normal keyboard for so long, it does take diligence to get used to a gamepad like this one has, but once you do, it works just great. |

steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:keypad used for system keys . . . del, end, etc. . .
Pros:Sturdy feel, backlit keys Comment:
Purchased mainly for use in subdued lighting . . . the backlit keys are nice and even through all 3 colors and have 3 different levels of illumination. a little on the annoying side is that num lock has to be disengaged to use some of the system keys . . . like delete. Overall comfortable keyboard to use with lots of flexibility. One thing worth noting this keyboard requires a powered usb port so anyone using a KVM needs to have powered usb ports available on the KVM. |

steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:Not so good for typing/data entry (duh)Numeric/Arrow/Pg Up Pg Dn mashup is kinda nasty
Pros:Lights are prettyHeavy-Doesn't slide around like a cheapo keyboardUSB and audio/mic jacks are nice Comment:
A good gaming keyboard but it didn't improve my skills in BF2 as much as I had hoped (dang!). Solid and well made but I found the dedicated gaming keys (WASD, etc.) kinda hard to negotiate under the stress of battle. Programmable hot keys rock; you can remap to your hearts content too. Biggest gripe is the numeric keypad; if you want to use the delete key you gotta take off the num lock...it sounds like no big deal but it gets annoying. Still, it's pretty darn cool. |

steelseries Black Wired Gaming Keyboard
Cons:some buttons are a bit close together
Pros:Very well built quality product Comment:
Very nice keyboard nice layout just all round great keyboard defanetly a FPS keyboard, the back lit keys are great for dark rooms |
A very well built keyboard, very solid. My first high-quality keyboard. If I had to, I would buy this keyboard again...The system keys and window controls are a big plus for this keyboard, like the My Computer, Maximize, Minimize, Close, Copy, Paste, and Cut keys.Overall, I recommend this keyboard to anyone who is not wanting a budget keyboard, as this keyboard is definitely NOT a budget keyboard!
