It's an SSD. The pros really should be relatively clear. Not as rapid as many SSD's but this is an older model. 1) The post concerning the V125 is invalid and should not be deemed. It's a different model, distinct capacity using an even older manufacturing technique.2) I many of these to back up my property server (Ubuntu 10.04 + PostgreSQL 8.four). Using these paired with a ineo removable usb drive bay + the ineo two.5" usb situation, a udev rule and an anachron script. Been carrying out it this way for over a year now and I've never ever had a negative backup--had to restore from it a handful of occasions, as well.

Ultra rapid boot time, and shut down time. No mechanical parts, shock proof, runs cool and silent, enhanced battery life. Technique overall performance and responce time enhanced dramatically. Games run allot much more stable compared to operating on a mechcanical drive. About the only point poor I can say about these types of drives, is that they are nonetheless a new technology in this kind of form as far as flash memory goes. That being stated, they are nevertheless unproven as a stable replacement for regular mechincal drives. Also, they are nevertheless additional expensive and you get less GBs for the dollar compared to a standard tough drive, that being stated not that numerous people can't justify purchasing one particular. I bought this drive and place it my laptop along with a fresh install of windows 7, and I'm not dissapointed. Like I mentioned, these drives aren't for absolutely everyone allot of folks don't trust them simply because they are still in their infancy and are unproven, not to mention the high expense.

Comment:
Bought this to breathe new life into a 6.5 year old laptop. Installed windows XP on it and it starts up within 35 seconds. Which is pretty incredible for my crappy old laptop. For me it was good value, it let me turn an otherwise unused laptop into something I can let friends/relatives use when they come over.I would buy it again for a budget desktop build to install the OS on. I'd also recommend it to anyone thinking of doing the same with an old laptop.
