Cons: - Lots of Asus Crapwares- Atom Processor may feel slow for some- Keyboard Layout is Weird

Pros: - Light- With 2G RAM, it can run with Windows 7
Comment:
I am satisfied with the purchase. This little guy is slow but I do not expect much from a Atom Processors. I switched my RAM to 2G. It runs kinda smoothly.I like the tablet too. Not too laggy. However, there is a problem with the keyboard layout. the right shift key location is on the right of the arrow_up key which confuses me a lot. Finally another bad thing is that there's so much Asus crapware that I took more than 5 hours just to update  windows and delete  all crapware.

Cons: - Built-in CPU ramp down when you flip it into tablet mode

Pros: - Excellent touchscreen sensitivity- Beautiful finish that draws a lot of jealous looks- IPAD+++
Comment:
A lot of people have been complaining about performance issues on the T91MT. I believe the biggest reason is that running this machine like a full laptop is a mistake. Most of the slowness I have encountered has been with doing multiple disk operations at once.By focusing on one task at a time and reducing the number of background tasks, I was able to get the same responsiveness as an iPad with applications that are far more complicated.Really, the T91MT should be used as a highly portable tablet with an extremely rich feature set.

Cons: Screen is a bit small

Pros: Very compact and portable
Comment:
I bought this primnarily because of the touch screen and small size. I wanted something more functional than my PDA for travelling while a little smaller than a toughbook. I tried it out for a while but finally upgraded from the standard 1 gb to 2 gb RAM. It runs much better now, faster and less crashing. The screen is a little bit small. The keyboard does not lend itself to fast typing as the keys are a bit tight and not as responsive compared to a toughbook. The processor is fairly slow, but then that was expected for something that delivers a decent amount of battery time. An additional USB aan SD card slot would have been nice. Wish it had kept the GPS chip as originally planned before product launch. Does anybody know how large an SD card the disk expansion slot can accomodate. Also how much the regular SD slot will recognizeé This review was modfied by poster @ 09-12-10 11:34 AM

Previous reviewer said most of everything. I just want to add that I tried it with the stock 1Gb RAM and it was painfully slow. Also, I have used the included stylus many times and haven't noticed any scratching on the screen yet. I bought this because my 3 year old 17" notebook was too heavy to lug around, however I became accustomed to 4 USB ports and the full keyboard (including number pad) so this keyboard is taking a little getting used to but I don't do huge amounts of typing. My main use is simple web surfing and playing music (with external speakers) while traveling as well as showing pics and video.Overall, I highly recommend this unit. If you price match, it will more than pay for the needed RAM upgrade.

Cons: - right shift location- left-centric spacebar- only two USB ports- cannot increase the SSD (without voiding warranty)- no screen protector included- shiny surfaces=fingerprint magnet

Pros: - portable and still functional- lightweight- touch screen- mostly proportional sizing of keys- battery life: 7+hrs in power saving mode- screen resolution- screen brightness (16 settings)
Comment:
So far, I've had my EeePC for just over a week and I'm really enjoying it. I was looking for something small and light with a standard keyboard (no international keyboard, no “small keys”). A mini-tablet would be ideal (I liked having a PDA but the screen was too small and limiting). I think the blue sparkles on the cover are kind of neat; it makes the T91 look sleek and fun.Enter the T91MT, stock with Windows 7. It's light and small. It fits easily into my PacSafe Metro200 bag with its power supply without being too heavy on the shoulder. I still have room in the bag for other stuff. The keyboard is pretty good (only the ~` and the | keys are not-proportional--a non-issue as far as I'm concerned); yes, the keys are smaller than a standard keyboard, but it's a non-issue for me (I have small hands). The screen size is good and Asus has been rather efficient in the space allotted for the keyboard (no wasted space width-wise). There are dual microphone pick-ups for better recording (think video conferencing on the go) and an ok camera (wasn't something I was looking for but playing in the YouCam application was fun). I haven't made any adjustments to the any of the touch screen settings (the only adjustment I made is on the glide pad for the palm check setting--same as I had done for my regular laptop) as I want to see how the T91 functions before I start making any changes. The case attracts fingerprints like nothing else. I can see the reason for having a shiny shell for those who like to skin their computers (needing a slick surface for the skin to better adhere) but it forces those who don't skin their devices to either put up with a messy looking computer or skin the computer. Yet another thing I'll need to buy (screen protector and now an anti-fingerprint shield). Oh, my T91 did not come with a cleaning cloth (I understand that other EeePCs do).The screen resolution (at the recommended 1024x600) is perfectly fine and crisp. The screen brightness is also great (I generally have it no brighter than halfway on the 16-setting brightness scale). While the casing of the T91 attracts fingerprints, the screen itself does not. There is bluetooth on the T91. I tried it out with my ancient and dysfunctional motorola cell phone. Unfortunately, while both the T91 and cell phone could see each other, the cell phone only wants to interface to a bluetooth headset. The T91 does not get warm when using battery power. Using while charging, yes, it gets warm but not as warm as my laptop. There are two issues with the keyboard: the spacebar is left-centric and the location of the right shift key. Since I use my right thumb for the spacebar, I find myself having to go back and insert  missing spaces (I think I keep hitting the right alt key instead). I am sure that with practise I'll be able to adapt but I shouldn't have to make this change (ergonomics: the change in hand position could cause undue strain on the right hand). I understand why the right shift is where it is (to maintain the pattern of the arrow keys) however, as a touch typist, I would rather have a non-standard arrow key pattern and have the right shift key where the up arrow currently resides. As it stands now, I find that I am pressing the up arrow key instead and continuing typing my sentence on the line above--this is really annoying. Now, imagine pressing both the shift and the up arrow at the same time (this selects text) and continuing to type (this erases selected text). I've done this too. Not nice!I love the touch screen. Since this T91 has Windows 7 installed, I am using the touch screen all the time (I find myself trying to use touch screen stuff on my Windows XP work computer!). A previous reviewer mention scratching the screen with the stylus--this is always a concern of mine (since PDA days) and I really wish that the T91 came with a screen protector. I would have purchased one but haven't yet gone to a store that has any in stock. As with a PDA stylus, one needs to ensure that the stylus has no rough/sharp edges; the stylus that came with my T91 seems to be fine. Because I have no screen protector, I haven't really used the stylus much (I've been mostly using my fingers) but I have tried the stylus for some handwriting (and the handwriting recognition is really good). The “TouchGate” desktop interface is...odd. I don't see the point. I think it is a hold-over from the Windows XP model and is now unnecessary on the Windows 7 model. The related TouchGate interface residing at the top of the screen allows easy access to various Asus applications such as FotoFun, StickyNotes, and YouCam. This additional interface isn't bad but it still doesn't allow me to add my own applications. The applications provided by Asus, however, are pretty cool.My T91 doesn't appear to have either the TV tuner or GPS. Pity. There is internet radio, though.All-in-all, I really like the T91. I can see myself taking this into meetings for note-taking (I like to mark-up the agenda with my notes). The monitor port is nice (where's the DVI?and will allow me to connect the T91 to a projector or external monitor. It's better than a PDA on steroids. This will also be great for travelling and e-book reading. Once I get a screen protector, I'll likely go crazy with handwritten notes and recognition.I should add that while I haven't really put this little computer through it's paces, it seems to be responsive and fast for the things I've been doing (such as some word processing with Open Office and surfing the web). I did upgrade the ram to 2Gb straight out of the box. I'm sure that helped. I've also predominately used the T91 battery-powered in power-saving mode. The only reason I am not giving this netbook 5 stars, is that there is room for improvement (could have more than two 2 USB ports, accessible/expandable SSD, and the keyboard layout issues).
