After getting tired of paying $50 over and over again for black ink for our old printers, we've had laser printers the past couple years. We had been purchasing a new printer every time the toner ran out, but fell in love with the Brother HL-2140 we bought. This is the second toner we've bought in the past year, and that's with 2 adults and 3 school aged kids using the printer. We're up to about $70 in toner where we would be up to a few hundred in ink cartridges. |

They do an irritating behaviour in which the toner light goes on solid yellow (before the toner is empty).

Really, they last a LONG time. You really will get about 1500+ sheets printed for only $38. I am on my third toner and this Brother printer which I got for about ~$50 w/ first toner is still pumping out sheets.If your toner light goes solid yellow, then do the following:Remove the toner cartridge and shake it left to right. this is a well known technique in the printing business.There is a sensor inside a circular hole on either side of the toner. Try covering this with tape (it will stop the solid yellow light and let you keep printing!! You can get 300 more sheets, minimum). There is also a circular wheel which you can spin using a knife (google this). |

approx 1500 pages for 40ish is a great deal. The cartridge inserts easily and works perfect, no complaints. The brother printers are great for basic black and white printing, ideal for office and small business users who don't need color. |
$40 for 1500 pages is an excellent deal. Installation was a breeze. The product comes with a prepaid postal stamp so that you can return the empty cartridge to Brother for recycling.Conclusion: One of the Best-Highly Recommended
