I remember when I watched someone snap a CD apart the first time. Stuff flew EVERYWHERE! Quite a sight! (I had told them not to. Curiosity kills! :P ) |

I've been using Taiyo Yuden discs for about 8 years now. First CD's, later DVD's. Although I've recently ran upon an unreadable Taiyo Yuden disc burned back in 2005, I've had nothing but good experience with these discs. TY are pioneers of optical technology, they actually invented the CD-R disc.I usually get the Watershield discs, which are glossy printable, but they are expensive (70c per disc). These ones are much cheaper and sufficient if I need to burn something fast and I don't need it to look too fancy.Great discs for the money! |

I have burned about 5 disk already and no problem so far. I check the disk info and find out that it is now TYG03. Also writing speed is supported up to 18x and I did burn it with 18x and no errors. |

Very cheap discs, didn't need a cake box so opted for this. No coasters yet, nice look on the top. Would recommend it to anyone who finished their last spindle and has a empty cake box lying around! |

I seem to recall that the "regular" price was supposed to be $30, instead of the $23 when I bought this on sale for $20. Anyway, I bought two spindles and so far I've had no problems with the first spindle. All TYG02.The few DVD scans I did seems to be somewhat more consistent at 4x than 8x (the only 2 speeds available) on an LG-GSA-H62N burner. However one 8x dvd was better than the others... not sure what speed to burn it at. anyone know? |

These are really good for the price. There's no writing or label on the top side of the disc, which I like. Greatest deal for the price. The only negative thing I can think of is the packaging, it's not as solid as it could be, but it's not a big deal... |

Cons: Shiny top.I found some problems with some burners when using at 8X. The disks seemed fine but md5sum didn't match.

I'm pretty happy with the price of $23/100 that I paid on sale and with the free shipping on that sale. There is still the bottom line to consider which is that if a person gets a bunch of coasters, then the cost/disk rises.I have had very few coasters with these (TYG02 - Trublu) disks over the years, though, when burned at lower speeds. And the disks are still all readable. I guess a person can try at 8X, and continue if they see no coasters - though most likely any errors will only be seen with error checking. But from what I've seen any reliable burner will work at 4X. |

I know these are bulk, but I still believe the packaging does leave something to be desired. Especially when being shipped across the country. My lot came in kind of messed up, the stack was askew and the packaging had a couple tears where it looks like the dvds had cut through the material. So far, no coasters, but not half way through the stack. I hate to say it, but for me, this is not something I believe I would buy again. I would much prefer to get something that has a little more protection for the product than plastic film. I guess if you have already gone through a couple dvd cake boxes you could use the empty spindles and not have to worry about dust, etc. |

Bought a spindle about once a year when it was on sale for about $20 and use them for essential copying. So far the disc that were made 4 or 5 years ago still read perfect. However, these disc need careful storage and handling as they scratch and pick up dust and finger prints easily. |

Not much to say about blank DVDs except that they work. These have a very shiny silver top and a bluish dye on the bottom. They have a max rating of 8X burn speed. It comes shrink wrapped without a spindle case but not a big deal since I just recycled an old one. |

Picked up another spindle of Taiyo Yuden. Works well, even gets up to 20x speeds for me. Dont know why listed as 8x. anyways, no coasters after many hundreds of burns. Good price per disc at $0.15 on sale. That's all.
