I bought some parts to complete a computer and the power supply in the tower did not have the 8 pin plug for the board I wanted to use. This adapter worked perfectly.

Once I finally connected this adapter it did it's job. I love the way it has the sleeve on it matching my power supply cables. The only problem is that when I tried connecting it to my molex plugs I pushed a couple pins out, I didn't even force it. So I carefully tried the other plug and found my self struggling to line up the pins so I didn't push them out. Please make sure that when you connect the plugs that no pins are pushed out because you can possibly burn out your power supply. Other than that it's a great adapter. Oh by the way if you read the description it is clearly not meant to be used for PCIe vid cards. This adapter is meant to be used for 8 pin motherboard power.

If you don't know what this is for, don't buy it. If you know what you are doing and want a great product, buy a couple, they are nice to have around the shop, just in case.

You know maybe I am over sensitive having sold products and customers able to review them. Knowing that some fool would purchase something with out reading or knowing what the heck he is even looking for or what he bought. Then have the nerve to bash the product possiby changeing the mind of someone to purchase, that really needed it and would have been happy with it because they knew what they needed, but didn't buy it because some fool knocked the rating down because he is an idot and bought the wrong item. This is as it says two molex plugs with an 8 prong plug. So that you can power a 8 prong 12 v motherboard with a power supply that was designed to power a 4 prong 12 volt motherboard. Nice plugs and the cable cover is a nice touch. Duh man oh man I would be ashamed to even admit I had no idea what I bought let alone bash the product for my stupidity. SO I guess your useing the stars to rate your stupidity?

Adapted my just-fine power supply 2 new quadcore ready mobo. Having no 2 pin break-away section, this is obviously not meant 2 power a PCIe vid card.

It does the job. I am going to replace PSU soon anyway, I have no molex left for my neons and the graphics card I will be getting requires a higher wattage PSU.

This is NOT the cable to power a PCI-e Video card....wires on pins 1-3 of this cable are reversed compared to a PCIe 8 pin power cable (so 12v goes direct to ground in the video card if you use this cable). Best way to check if its the RIGHT cable is, on the PCIe power cable the yellow wires (12v) are OPPOSITE the clip side.

Best Solution if your Power Supply Does Not have the 8 pin 12 volt Power supply to your Motherboard CPU. Be certain to put it on seperate rails to have steady Power.
