Working on my first build, MSI NF980-G65 Mobo, and AMD Phenom 2x4 955. Bought this cooler based on good reveiws, and because it looks cool. It looks to be a fairly high quality product for the price, however, I am a bit disappointed to find that you only have 2 options for mounting direction with the AM3 socket. With my Mobo the cooling fan will end up pointed straight up or straight down, so I'm not sure how that will work out since the case exhaust fan is usually on the side (back) of the case. The intel mounts are square so you should be able to rotate the unit any direction you want if you're running an intel cpu. I don't have the system up and running yet (waiting for case to get here) so I can't comment on actual performance, for features, well, a better mount for AM3 socket would really be the only thing I would change about it.

I usually use the OEM coolers on my systems because I don't overclock my PCs. But this time I decided to get a little bigger cooler... and you can't tell from the picture, but it is huge. I had to mod the case to make it fit... but now my CPU is running cool and smoothly.

This CPU cooler is just perfect, I have aphenom II 965 that I was unable to keep cool ( 105 F ) until I installed this one ( 88-92 F ) clocked to 4.3 gig. Thank you soooooo much

OK .. so you may wonder why I am giving it all 5 stars yet my headline says beware.. Easy. I have a dual proc system. I wanted something quiet - That it is ( compared to server based fans) and that allowed me to use all my RAM Slots ( this it did ) If you are in the market for a MSI Speedster2 mobo or one of the ASUS Dual proc boards .. you MAY want another fan. but if you are willing to take some time and figure out the air flow and possibly flip a fan over to get the air flow correct then this is the heat sink for you .. I have to admit its a good system. In an NZXT Whisper case its hardly a whisper but its duller than a roar ..

Running AMD Quad Core at 3.0Ghz when it was clocked at 2.6Ghz. Running at 28C idle and jumps up to 30-32C when load. Quite and cool. Just make sure you have the room, because it is bulky.

I am running a Q6600I Quad on an Asus P5NE-SLI board slightly overclocked at 2.66GHZ. This fan keeps it right below 40 degrees C at all times. Excellent fan!

This product took my AMD Quad core from 65C idle to 21C idle and 85C load to 40C. My only concern is the AMD mounting system is really tricky, it took me well over 2 hours and still isn't properly attached. If you have an intel cpu this is the way to go.

This fan will fit most of the top of the line CPUs. I am running a AMD Phenom II Quad 956 Black Edition, for the AMDs its very scary. Has 1 bracket that holds this beast to the MB. The fan is HUGE and HEAVY. With Intel Chips, it does come with additional brackets you need to install with the MB off, so READ instructions. Besides the awkwardness of being big with little attachments for AMD base chips, it does the job. Side Note - May have to remove side panel fans, this is a bug fan and will fill alot of interior space.

This thing looks awesome! So quiet I can hardly tell its on! Installation was super simple and I had no issues with clearance inside my Ultra Gladiator case. I was able to OC my cpu from 3.0 to 3.6 with very little increase in temp.
