I do not own this card, when I owned equivalent cards, none have been as good as this a single. This is an entry level card but it has the overall performance of a considerably a lot more expensive card. To the reviewer that posted about solidworks; Even though the details that you gave is useful and crucial there was no will need to give the card a poor review. By your own admission, Its not the cards fault that you did not see results. The card is performing significantly greater than the last card you had, you just can't take advantage of the efficiency increase. Generally investigation before you buy.

This card for an entry level card performs effectively above expectations. Employed with two 21in monitors at 1600 dpi it under no circumstances lagged. Rendering in the highest high quality and operating with multiple parts and assemblies was seemless. Utilized in each Windows and Linux 64bit OS's. Ran Autocad's Architectural Desktop2010 64bit and Inventor 2010. Nevertheless hunting for one particular.

very good driver support no performance improvement over nVidia FX580 in solidworks 2010 Caution Solidworks users, immediately after months of comprehensive testing we have concluded that Solidworks barely uses the graphics hardware at all, generating the CPU the key efficiency limiting factor. If you google search SolidWorks benchmarks, you will locate many web sites that confirm the same factor, that the highest GHz CPU is far more critical than the video card, network, really hard drives, or even memory speeds. I recommend against this card if you're searching for performance improvement, and against SolidWorks unless you feed it with the highest GHZ quad core and as much memory as your case can hold. Solidworks 2010 is terribly unstable anyways, but hopefully tale of caution will save you some grief =D

I have recently constructed two CAD stations and utilized this video card in every a single, and I have to say that I'm very delighted with the performance. My general configuration is Windows 7 64bit, with the OS and working CAD files on a 128GB OZ SSD, an i7 2.66GHZ processor, 12GB of RAM, and this video card. It handles the substantial assemblies like a dream. As a side note for other CAD users, the i7 does a good job with rendering and simulation as effectively - I'm very pleased with the speed. I'm operating SolidWorks 2010, and it does appear to take advantage of the multi-core structure, even though the basic modeling does not seem to do so.The card performs fantastic and I haven't observed a single glitch on the screen like I've observed with some PNY workstation cards in the previous. None from my viewpoint.

Quiet, cool and quite dependable. Installing the drivers in Linux was mainly painless. Haven't however encountered any incompatibility issues making use of this card and running Maya 2010 on CentOS 5.threeThe only time I have bogged this card down however was with a three+ million poly model with Higher Top quality Rendering turned on, and it was nonetheless livable. Complicated scenes and lighting that would have otherwise crashed my earlier gear are no difficulty for this card. Not a lot. It was a tiny tricky to get the X Server settings configured but even a Linux newb like myself was able to overcome it handily. Running this card in my "budget" workstation:CentOS five.threeCore I7 950ASUS P6T Deluxe V212 GB Corsair DDR3Corsair 750W PS2x WD Caviar Black 640 GB in Raid Quadro FX 1800Presently running two displays with this card, 1 in 1920x1080 and the other in 1280x1024. Running two displays raised the core temperature compared to hooking up only 1, but still not even halfway to the slowdown threshold. It also came with the most current drivers pre-loaded from the factory.

Possibly the very best worth in a graphics card for Pro/Engineer. The 580 is really close in efficiency according to Pro/E graphic card benchmarks, as are the cards costing 񘈨's a lot more. This is probably the a single to have if you are undertaking actual work. Sure you can most likely get away with a gaming card for CAD, but you will be destroyed with lag when operating on your drawings. Most likely not much of a concern for you SWorks users out there, since it can't produce a genuine engineering drawing anyways. It's kind of great that even though I purchased this card a extended time ago I can reuse it in my new system create (with Intel 2600k). New drivers don't necessarily operate greater (for Pro/E ~ Creo). It appears to like the recommended versions, and occasionally a tiny newer - but by no means the newest stuff. Typical for high-end computer software. Shouldn't be typical. Possibly only with the guidance of PNY tech assistance - think about checking and updating your graphics card firmware if you knowledge some kind of situation that can\'t be resolved through driver updates. I think it's a single of those high commitment circumstances exactly where as soon as you do an update there is no going back. Could lead to the finish of the globe if you screw it up.

Excellent card for spending budget workstation graphics. I run 3 flat screens with this monitor no complications. (a 24" widescreen flanked by 2 19"). Autocad drivers are good and I can have drawing and all toolbars and windows open. Also runs games properly. Starcraft two and Left 4 dead run great. none.

Superb, rapidly card for my wants. Workstation graphics cards generally seem overpriced. It is the slowest component in my new technique based about a i7-930. Win7Pro64 Windows Encounter Index gives this a 6.7 with no overclocking but that's a lot good for my GIS applications.

Quite very card! Low energy consumption, doesn't will need a energy connector from the PSU, powerful display capabilities even with only 64 CUDA cores, text looks sharper, images display Considerably quicker than with my old card (ATi x1950 Pro). None! I didn't obtain this thru Newegg but had to leave a assessment since I'm quite impressed with this card. My pc is SO a lot quieter now. I had to open the side cover of the case and check the card to make confident the fan was going; it was, no pro-blay-mo. Not a gamer card and isn't meant to be. It is designed for video/cad/graphics style function and it does its job Very well. I use it for video editing. Technique: Core i7 920, Biostar TPower X58, 3gigs Corsair Triple channel 1333, Win XP 32 bit SP3, upgrading within a week to Win 7 64 bit and adding a lot more RAM.

This is an great card for it's intended goal...I don't play games (use Autocad and Revit Architecture) so can't rate it in that regard. In a Cadd card you are seeking for stability and visual clarity, and this card delivers. Not low-cost, but when you compare it to comparable cards as advised by Autodesk, it is a good worth! Frequent driver updates offered by NVidia are an asset...I want the firm to be continually enhancing the efficiency of the card. None I tried a gaming card just before going to this Autodesk advised Cadd Card...the gaming card was speedy but unstable. Some comments I've identified on the net (not necessarily just on newegg) refer to rendering. A excellent stable card is significant in rendering, but actual rendering speed is actually a function of the plan in combo with ram. A Cadd card is unique than a gaming card, mainly due to driver help focus.

It works as advertised. I purchased the card for my video editing workstation, realizing that the video card wasn't actually as essential if merely editing straight video with out effects. Though I haven't tried in After Effects, I'm positive it will give me my money's worth there. Initial, with this card the Elemental Accelerator plugin for Premiere Pro CS4 does not give any advantage over the CPU when transcoding AVCHD footage into h.264 blu-ray. Second, I can't be 100% positive but prior to installing EA Adobe CS4 was running perfectly stable. After installation, it has frozen up many occasions even immediately after uninstalling CS4 and EA and reinstalling CS4 without EA. Third, the transcoded footage created by EA had some odd troubles. It would ignore edit points so that with a two camera setup it would transcode the footage from both cameras. For example, I transcoded a wedding procession and when watching the finished product the groomsmen and bridesmaids would walk up the aisle from one camera view then they would walk up once again from the other camera view instead of there being a cut among each camera view. It is seriously odd. I ended up obtaining it without the Elemental Accelerator plugin for Premiere CS4 mainly simply because I wanted to try the trial version prior to getting it. That turned out to be a good selection as Elemental Accelerator has a number of problems.

Renders about as great as a GTX 470 Renders about as very good as a GTX 470 and expenses โ+ I purchased an EVGA GeForce GTX 470 to improve my speed and productivity with After Effects CS4. I gained some efficiency more than the stock GT 220 but expected a lot a lot more from such a excellent card. I knew AE CS4 and OpenGL had been far more so written to utilize the Quadro cards but hoped I could circumvent it with a actually good graphics "gamer" card. Properly I eventually grabbed this Quadro FX1800 card from PNY and it was not a lot much better. My workflow in AE CS4 was about the very same except I had less on board RAM 齀 instead of 1280) and experienced bottlenecks. I am now switching my whole platform over to a server board and Xeon processor with TWO Quadro FX1800 cards... We'll see if this assists points.

This automobiles is fairly awesome for the value. I previously has a Geforce GTX 260, and replaced it with this for 3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush perform. The quadro line smokes geforce cards for these apps. You can immediately tell the bandwidth and reponse time in direct x apps is much better than Geforce. I can push practically 8 million polys in zbrush no challenge! I still get high fps on games too! I have five Dell 690's that were all equipped with the FX3450's. We lately upgraded the OS in these machines to Vista 64 so that we could run SolidWorks 2009 SP4. 64bit. We experienced incredibly poor video troubles while working in SolidWorks. I tried just about every driver under the sun to fix the concern we had been getting with the FX3450's but had absolutely no luck. I purchased a FX 1800 and put it in one of these machines and the challenge has absolutely gone away. With the card becoming in a position to handle a lot far more and the power consumption a lot much less factors appear to be more stable with SolidWorks as effectively. We are now going to replace all of them with the FX1800. No Cons here.

You don't want to supply it with Power... it's a youngsters card, so it's about as teeny as they come. If you like tiny and costly, this is the card for you. 3D small business graphics rating dropped two points in Vista from my Geforce 8800 GS Superclocked! Whoohoo! 64 entire stream processors! YAY! This card does not benefit the typical video editor/aspiring video editor who is not running 3-d or animation plug-ins. You don't need it. This card is apparently based on the Geforce 9600. They say we pay for the drivers for enterprise solutions. My remedy is to get a Geforce 250 to replace this Get a rapidly card with about 512MB of memory. Gamers could want 1GB or a lot more, but not anybody employing Adobe CS3 or CS4 and doing typical video editing, transitions, etc. Besides, you're far better off obtaining a fantastic processor Intel Core two Quad three.0GHZ, overclock the factor to 3.6GHZ, 8 GB or a lot more of memory, and a couple of Raptor challenging drives, a Geforce 250 Superclocked and you're set.

solved all of my issues with Adobe CS3 and CS4. I was having a lot of conflicts rendering in Adobe, with the screen draw and crashes. Following numerous hours of frustration, I concluded it was the high end gaming card causing conflicts with Adobe. I need to have just went with this card to start with and saved myself the headache of trying to make some thing else work that was not specific for editing requirements. This card has come down really a bit in cost which is a superior factor. I think if someone want a card that is reasonably priced and that will most likely not cause them headaches, this one is most likely it. I also noticed a fair quantity of boost in rendering time. So far it has been working fine and I can not say anything poor about it I only give four eggs simply because Adobe and Nvidia most likely make it so the Adobe does not run smoothly when employing a gaming card. Soon after all, the chip sets are the similar, it is just a distinction in programming.

The card works fantastic with Maya, which is the primary reason why I purchased it. Rendering and modeling are a breeze now. About the only thing that will slow it down is a heavy use of particles, like when utilizing water effects. I am currently operating it in my dell studio xps 435t and up till now no main hicups. The price, but thats a given with workstations! The install was somewhat time consuming as solely installing the drivers didn't cut it. I had to manually change the bios to support the card. Also, not positive if this is the graphics card's fault, but immediately after doing a speedy render, the windows aero scheme will switch to visual simple (supposedly maya doesn't support it.) This creates some funky bugs when you have windows opened up inside programs such as maya and photoshop, absolutely nothing main although (the model blinks until you close the window or until you move it to the side). But, the dilemma goes away when you shut down maya. So that could be vista or maya's fault. I would have given it a 5 if the install was simpler and if there had been no bugs, even although the bugs may not be the cards fault. Other than that, great card when you're on a budget. Oh yea don't read the very first review...

Slim form factor, no will need for additional power connectors, techy appear, solid performer, DVI + dual HDMI Ambiguous SPDIF connector The FX 1800 is a wonderful midrange pro-level graphics card. It's a fairly strong performer for the cash and doesn't want a crazy power supply or enormous case with enormous cooling fans. For Solidworks, this thing FLIES. 768MB too, which is beneficial.
