This replaced my old LG tiny 15" which lasted very well and which I was very happy with. After you get it there is a little metal pin in the back of the stand you have to remove and then the height adjustment is spring loaded. There is a removable clip in piece for cable management which is nice and big enough to put other wires in as well from webcams etc. Under the plastic base is a metal base so the whole monitor can swivel. It is a heavy and solid stand. The magic of this monitor is raise it up and then the whole monitor swivels 90 degrees! Kind of interesting you could run two applications one at the top and one at the bottom stacked.There is also pivot software. But the monitor doesn't detect it is being turned. Pixel count is 1680x1050. There is a slight light halo around the edge of the screen which some people might be picky about but only noticed it when I read about it in a review. The styling isn't flashy at all. It is more conservative styling than the mirror black monitors. One nice feature that you will find when you go through the setup is that you can turn off the power light! The buttons on the front there are 6 of them 5 to set the monitor and the power button. One button is dedicated to conventional or widescreen. The four other buttons are for all the other settings. If you have two computers connected then there is also a source setting where you can choose which to see on the screen. The back is simple with DVI, D-sub and power connections. Right out of the box there were no dead pixels. The top of the screen is square enough for a good mounting point for a webcam. Overall I am happy with LG quality. This model might be a few bucks over the basic model but the sturdy swivel and adjustable stand with rotation and styling to me are worth it. This monitor will do me until I go for the higher res monitor in a few years.This monitor also has something called F-engine which isn't anything fantastic in fact the feature was on the older models. All F-engine is is saving and recalling different monitor settings. You can have custom settings for internet, movies, normal etc.
