None so far. It would study or write a really modest quantity of sectors and then make an I/O timeout on FreeBSD 8. I did tests with a "SG" 1.five TB drive and a "H" 1. TB drive on the same channel, energy connector, and SATA cable. The WD drive constantly failed, the "SG" and "H" worked flawlessly. I am unhappy that I have to invest another eight dollars and twenty cents to send the drive back to Western Digital when it is CLEARLY apparent that they did NO testing on this drive. I know these items come about, but it annoys me that I am the a single that has to pay extra for their negligence. This was supposed to be the second drive in a 1.5 TB mirror. I deliberately chose a distinct brand to make certain that one failed nicely ahead of the other. This was _supposed_ to be a really reliable drive, and I paid twenty-seven dollars and twenty-six cents Much more than the SG 1.5 TB drive for this supposed advantage. Nicely, now it is thirty-five dollars and forty-six cents more. Naturally I am significantly less than content with the story so far. |

Rapidly and Quiet. Fantastic price 1 out of the two I bought was terrible. I could format the drive and copy data to it but when I tried do a large amount of reads I got unrecoverable errors. It's on the way back to Newegg for replacement. |

- Installation was a breeze; no want to configure jumper settings despite their existence on the drive.- Drive appears quiet as far as I can inform. Newegg doesn't specify that this is OEM, not retail. As a result no SATA cable was incorporated, which was a discomfort considering the fact that I didn't have one handy; make positive to order a single alongside the drive if you don't have a spare. |

Worked OK for a month or two, even after it began clicking. Started clicking in a good rhythmic style, then died a few weeks later. This doesn't surprise me at all. In the final couple of years I've had so a lot of tough drives, both Seagate and Western Digital ( with a single or two dead Hitachis thrown in), die on me that I've lost count. They hold a lot of information. Mine have offered me massive issues. I purchased two of these and I've had troubles with each of them. At random occasions they will just quit sending information. Anything comes to a complete and total halt. Normally this takes place mid-information transfer. Huge, functions perfectly. Drive is only 5400 RPM, and this truth is left out of the specifications. I really like Newegg, but this is the initial time I've felt disappointed with a buy from them. But it's fairly false to state that these drives are very good for HD streams, and in DVR applications. Only get this drive if your DVR is SD (the only way this drive is going to record 12 simultaneous streams, as the specs state, is if they're QVGA streams). Consequently, I'll instead use this drive for backup, for which it is perfect. |

It works. Nothing. I've installed dozens of internal drives over our loved ones Pc's over a couple decades. Like other people say, it's OEM people. Get your own cables, get your personal screws, study how to use device manager and off you go. Recognize what you're shopping for. If you're complaining, go get a retail box at Walmart.Agree with the comments about DOA - treat your drive with TLC, let it adjust to ambient air temperature just before you plug it around. Never lost a drive just before or through.I've filled about 200GB of the drive currently and it responds properly as a second drive in a loved ones machine, operating XP.I read all the comments right here. 90% of the men and women either don't know what they are doing, or exaggerate their technical knowledge. Perfect upgrade for your DirecTV HD-DVR challenging drive (HR-2x series, at least) from the OEM 500GB. Since the DTV DVR boxes often access the drive, working with a quiet, low power drive like this one is a need to! I initially tried a 1TB Black label (WD1001FALS) but the performance drives are too loud and it was also distracting although watching applications. If you are utilizing this drive in a Computer (Which it is NOT suited for) you have to inform the BIOS to enable the drive at least 15sec to spin-up and initialize, or it may possibly not be effectively detected by all HDD controllers This drive is in the similar item line (WD-AV series) as the OEM drive in my DVR, delivering ultra quiet, reputable 24ǝ generally on operation. |

It worked when it arrived. Failed on the 2nd day I purchased this from an additional supplier last week, when there was a slightly cheaper value. I've been a WD user for the last handful of years, ever considering that the Caviar Black line was so trustworthy (and rapid). I bought this based on my experience with WD, I was saddened to have gotten it, copied my data to it, and utilized it for a day, when all of a sudden my program couldn't recognize it and then wouldn't even boot when it was attached. My replacement is currently on the way and I'm hoping that this is a rare situation of disk drive infant mortality, but my confidence in WD is being re-evaluated. |

Lots of space.Capabilities advanced technology.Affordable price. None so far. Installed into my three.five yo XP machine w/o complications. I know what a bare drive signifies, so I had a spare cable. Runs cooler than my Deskstar drives in the exact same enclosure. If it lives up to its specs (especially reliability), promises to be a wonderful drive. |

1.5 TB was nice to have for a week or so. Drive started timing out through video playback for the duration of the initial week. By the second week it was causing WMC to lock up. Ran wddiag which appears to have performed it in. Failed the fast test and now the dreaded BIOS drive error on boot up. It had been packed loosely with an additional item, also defective. I've been a Newegg client since 2003 and this is the final time I acquire anything from them. Any income I've saved has been lost in time spent sending issues back to them. Get a decent shipping division guys and possibly you could maintain customers |
