Cons: Slight price premium for NAS compatibility

Pros: Decent Capacity, Good Speeds for NAS
Comment:
I have 9 of these now in total running in a couple QNAP NAS (5x a year ago, 4x a month ago). No issues yet, they perform reliably, don't cause dropouts, and no noticeable bottlenecks in terms of speed.I was able to get them for cheaper a year ago, than I could a month ago, but still fairly close together.I would not hesitate to get more of these if I needed them for a NAS. I would stick with the WD Red Brand.

Cons: Getting a bit pricy due to lower Canadian dollar

Pros: Large, fast and quiet.
Comment:
This 3TB Red works well. Tested write speeds and although it's not as fast as the Black series, it is fast enough for backups and general use.

Pros: Excellent price per GB, good for NAS
Comment:
I'm moving up the drives in my storage appliance from 1TB WD Caviar Black, which served me well. Two of three drives died in five years, and were replaced without fuss. Now 3 TB is the sweet spot for price per GB. WD wants us to use Red drives, rather than desktop drives, for NAS and storage appliance. Choose Red Pro over Red to get a 5 year warranty.

Cons: A little noisy

Pros: Quite the little beast
Comment:
This is quite the hard disk - 3TB is plenty (for most people!) and it's rated for a long long life... I wish the warranty was a tad longer and the drive was a bit quieter, but otherwise this one is highly recommended for NAS usage.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Good Read/Write Speeds, Very Quiet
Comment:
Only had this thing for a day, and I dumped all of my old stuff on to it. It's very quiet unlike my old drive, and the read and writes speeds are average as expected. You get exactly what you pay for, definitely would recommend either on its own or in a RAID array. Not sure how long it will last, but I'd expect a while from Western Digital.

Pros: Lots of space (obviously)Pretty quick speeds
Comment:
I've had the drive for a very short time but my first impressions of it are that it's quite nice to have. I have a 2TB Black which of course is nice, but now that I have a 3TB really stable drive I can have multiple back ups and it just feels really good to have those things safe (mostly, can't always trust technology 100% IMO) But overall really glad I got this drive, and the pricing is decent as well.

Cons: Cost a bit more than competition

Pros: Handles high temperature very well, fast and efficient, not too noisy
Comment:
I just bought 6 more of these babies to fill out a TheCus NAS box. I was using those RED WD drives since they were made available a few years back, slowly replacing all those WD Green in my older NAS Boxes (Dns-323 and Dns-325). Recently two WD-Green dies in some of my older NAS boxes. PS: When i bought the WD-Green, those RED did not exist at that time, so they were very useful for some years, but they do not handle high temperature and with the HOT summer, with 5 NAS boxes side by side, i had trouble with 2 of them, the same day (Strange!!), those NAS Boxes that were hosting the WD-Green and no trouble at all with the 3 others NAS all hosting WD-RED 3TB, that's why i decide to buy all 5 new WD-RED for my new NAS Boxes and 1 spare just in case (6 WD-Red in total). I highly recommends them

Cons: None that I can tell

Pros: High capacity
Comment:
I bought this drive for use in a NAS with five other drives, and it seems to be working well. I don't know if it is the drive or some other factor, but this drive seems to be slightly cooler, consistently, than the other drives. I had no trouble detecting the drive in FreeNAS, and no trouble using the full size of the drive. This one's a winner.

Cons: Slow rotation speed but that's the way most NAS drives are, NCIX shipped me rectified drives instead of new drives, they never got back to me as to why...

Pros: Excellent quality, long lasting, cool, really great price
Comment:
Love the drives, but kind of annoyed NCIX shipped me Recertified white labeled WD Red EFRX30 drives instead of new ones and then never replied to any emails. it's been over a year and haven't had any problems with the drives.

I bought a pair of these last December to begin migration from green to red drives for a storage array. So far:No installation issues.Compatibility seems good.Speed is better than green drives.I'm hoping the better warranty compared to green drives also translates to better reliability, but this remains to be seen.

A am going to say that when you get ones that work then they are great but WD is having a lot of issues with DOA or drives dieing lately so I will just leave it at that.

I bough this to add to my 4 disk NAS. I have 4 hitachi 3tb but they don't sell them anymore. So I bough this drive to add a fift drive. It work pretty well. It's a little slow compared to other drive, but in my 5 disk array I don't notice it. I can do more than 400mb/s. I bough it for the better warranty than other drive.
