quick speed operates wonderful with hackintosh usb3.. operates good with win7ቼኜ usb 3. .Purchased from nearby retail shop really should have waited a day and purchased from NEWEGG. they are the greatest. none the drive is really transportable fits into shirt pocket .cable is about 18". speed is excellent utilizing it with hackintosh usb3. and obtaining speeds of 65 to 90 Mbs. Exact same simular speed with win7. performing video with it and it has no troubles with it. |

Compact and uncomplicated to retailer in either you bag pack or your pocket. Doesn't function to properly with macs. im glad i dont own a mac. I wish the cable was a tiny bit longer but overall its a good solution. Hopefully it will last extended but only time will tell. |

Eye-catching Style, Transportable, Quiet, Uncomplicated to use, High Capacity, Password protected, Uncomplicated To Setup. None To Date I purchased this tough drive to give me additional storage, secure storage. This challenging drive is modest, slightly larger than a guys's wallet. You can use it to back up files, photos, etc., automatically by way of integrated software program. You can install just the safety software program without having the automatic backup. You do not have to install any software, if you choose not to. I installed only the safety software program. The WD software program is loaded on the WD drive, but you may possibly want to copy the integrated software program to a CD / DVD, if you do not want to use it at all. There is no software program to obtain; there are no cost downloads on the Western Digital web site. I use the drive to hold files, pictures, pc system images and so substantially a lot more. This hard drive will not work in your automobile, to play music by means of the usb drive in your vehicle; this drive demands an operating system to function. I got this drive for christmas, and cannot say very many bad things about it. If you accidentally or purposly unplug it without "safely removing", then it won't damage it. I have accidentally unplugged it a few times, and my has dad purposely done it numerous times with his separate one. Both of us have no compliants, and would recommend it to anyone |

I bought one of these drives about a year ago for backups and travel. The drive was connected only during backups and was otherwise kept on a shelf inside a protective shock-absorbing case. Despite that, the drive failed about a year after purchase, exhibiting a "click of death". The drive could not be reformatted or even properly accessed by partitioning software.I did like the drive and I think I will purchase another, however I am wary of it after this experience. |

I have 3 different WD External HD's and I have been impressed with them all - this one is no different!The only thing I noticed different with this, is that the cord (USB 3.0 / 2.0) is actually shorter!! I will have to buy one as when I plug it in to my tower, the cord doesn't even reach the ground so I am setting the drive on the top, lol.Next to that, it loads nice and fast and seems to stay rather cool!! |

This WD hard disk is smaller than an actual passport. It is very portable but it won't work with micro-usb cables and the provided cable is only about 30cm. It doesn't get hot after long period of use. Comes with 400mb of WD software. |
500GB isn't undesirable space,even though they're getting phased out by newer 1TB models that I would assume perform the very same. 2.5" portable challenging drives are Very hassle-free and I like not getting to bring a energy cable with me. I continually use this drive in between a property computer, function personal computer, and a laptop and have been Really clumsy with it. Various occasions I have dropped it and the casing would loosen just a bit, but all I would have to do is snap it back and it would be working perfectly again. Files have by no means corrupted, and I would have gotten the 1TB version of this model if it wasn't so pricey, but it's probably a "you get what you spend for" kind of deal. Can't feel of any. The drive has performed specifically what it was made to do and for that I am really happy. Going to replace it with a 1TB drive soon now that 1TB drives come in the 2.five" type aspect beneath 贄. I am very delighted with how this guy has lasted me and will trust WD tough drives in the future.
